Anyone else played this, I managed to get a load of games last night. Some with Illeria and Jeff. It feels quite different to the previous Halos, the closest being Halo CE. It reminds me of Star Wars: Republic Commando, which is a fantastic thing. Grenades are more powerful than before, very few weapons return, new armour abilities are available (Sprint, Jetpacks, Armour and Infiltration), discrete health returns combined with recharging shield, new game modes include Stockpile (like a scavenger hunt) Head hunter (kill someone to gain a point then you have to go to a point to bank it). A combination of these makes the game feel different, it still feels like Halo, but at the same time it doesn't. It's faster, more chaotic. You need ODST to run the beta though.

Start with the be a pro mode, all you have to worry about is your dude. Turn it to beginner, all assists on; the game will tell you where you are supposed to be. Playing with a less good team (yes Kansas City Wizards, 2 stars) helped I think, I'm not playing catch up to the AI all the time. Your character (assuming you built one) will improve his abilities as you progress, so you can go from rookie to pro. It's a solid experience. Once you have become confident with one player, I would suggest you play some exhibition matches. I'm not great, but I've gotten better in the time I've played it.

I'm good for anything but Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. I call Kansas City Wizards if we want to do less talented teams.

Mein Thumbcraft—IdleT Dedicated Minecraft Server
Patters replied to MrHoatzin's topic in Multiplayer Networking
I've been on various "build" servers since July, survival is where it's at, at this point I have no fear when building massive structures, monsters aren't a bother, it's kind of boring. Minecraft is all about the fear. -
Yeah, I've been playing a ton, it's pretty great.

Fuck. No. Survival all the way. -
They managed to dodge better in 3, but they often dropped the boxes containing their new Xboxes though...

I am not going to write a misleading title that will get you excited for nothing

I'm can't find anything on Schafer saying something along those lines, though I have seen quotes saying he wouldn't want anyone other than him to do a Grim Fandango sequel. -
Listen to Nachimir, he still has relationships even though he pushes women into muddy rivers.

I think it's time for me to upgrade my PC... Suggestions?

Most UK companies ship to the mainland for a fair price. -
I think they have purposefully gone for a high contrast system, which looks terrible to me,

Yeah I'm fairly sure he meant 50-100% more expensive, i.e. 150-200% the cost of a self build, opposed to the self build being free to 50% of the cost of the Alienware. -
I think that was Chuck Jordan on episode 9.

Alienware price for a similar rig to mine £1,164.00, Price I've paid including a couple of upgrades £600. -
I picked it up a few days ago, it's pretty fun though the PC version only supports 5v5 multiplayer, though that should be more than enough for us. I've had a couple of small instances of slowdown, not game breaking though, also likely caused by background programs running. I've mostly been playing the "be a pro seasons", which is pretty good seeing as I only have to manage one player at any time, along with playing on the easiest difficulty (as I suck at sports games). There are a few bugs, though not nearly as many as an Obsidian game. Also, fuck the offside rule, fuck it until it is dead.

It's worth a look at Ret's games, his play style as Zerg was great.

Awesome TED Talks (and similar enlightening lectures)

Maybe, but a little explanation goes a long way. -
I think the bigger problem is that Blizzard genuinely think that it's good.

So how did people find the MLG Dallas event, I've picked up a little from Jinro (and other Terran players), mostly scouting with buildings and strong forward bases. I've also been playing 2v2 games with a school friend, teaching him how to play, when to attack etc.
