Exactly the way PC gamers felt about console FPSs, this might be a bigger jump, but I very much consider it possible. Unlike the Wii and The Playstation Move, Kinect is something completely new. Consider when people started using mice for PC shooters, it was something new. Maybe Kinect itself won't do it successful, but that isn't to say it can't be done. Do I have the answer? Probably not. The actual tech is incredibly cool, and I'm looking forward to seeing what hackers do with it, maybe it's not going to be ideal for games. Main point being if you can't see anything you want it for then it isn't for you, yet. Disclaimer: I haven't got a Kinect.
