  3. Magic the Gathering [Xbox LIVE]

for some reason the promo code for the exclusive card is giving me a free deck of mtg cards, which is a little weird, is it not?
  4. Life

haha, sure will do, think was just in a shit mood with lack of sleep and being in my room for a whole day due to idiots being in my house who I didn't want to start a fight with.
  5. If you're under 18, gaming is about to suck for you

I don't agree with any age rating system in particular, a lot of them will make many mistakes. My parents were moderately strict with age ratings, for my 9th birthday my dad took me to special reserve (damn I miss that shop) to get a game, they let people try before you buy on the consoles that they had, so chose a few games to play: Space station silicon valley, Magic Ninja, and a few others; I ended up preferring Space Station, Which was rated 11+ by elspa. So my dad asked the assistant, who was the one who recommended the game if there was anything that would be horrifying to a 9 year old, to which he replied no (which is completely true). So I was allowed the game and enjoyed it. I have played games and watched films which I shouldn't have due to my age: Goldeneye at 11, MGS2 at 12/13, GTA:SA at 17, Predator 2 at 10, and others can't really remember. However maybe I am being hypocritical, but games such as Splinter Cell chaos theory deserve their 16+ pegi rating if not a higher one, you play as a guy who hides in shadows, then can grab people interrogate them then slit their throats, this is a small view of the game, but it is in there. Also with the COD games, and similar games based in a real world environment, this deserves a higher rating with it being more realistic, opposed to Gears of War where the characters are clearly not particularly realistic in line with us, this isn't to say Gears doesn't deserve the 18 rating it received. I really hope this move will make the system more consistent than it is currently, which unfourtunately I highly doubt it will.
  6. Magic the Gathering [Xbox LIVE]

I pretty much agree. The challenges are fantastic though. MTGO is really expensive I believe.
  7. 1-in-4 men in South Africa are rapists...

It depends on a number of possible factors: for example how drunk the girl is, and whether the guy is also drunk, so if the guy is sober and the girl paralytic I would class it as rape, but if both parties are as drunk as each other or both drunk enough to have their decision making impaired then it wouldn't be rape.
  8. Life

urgh... being home for summer and having nothing to do, nor any money is not fun. I'm so bored it is actually making me feel melancholy. I got burnout paradise on monday and have almost got the burnout licence. Any one wanna give me a job... no, back to boredom.
  9. Magic the Gathering [Xbox LIVE]

I sort of agree, especially as Pokémon Trading Card Game did it in 98 (for Japan). I hope they include it as a dlc, I would probably pay up to 400 points for it. I wish it had Broodstar in though. EDIT: Magic: the Gathering Online
  10. 1-in-4 men in South Africa are rapists...

if he won't leave you alone and follows and harasses you. Not necessarily actually hitting him/her but getting them away from you by applying a physical force. I probably wouldn't hit someone for what they are saying (not that I wouldn't consider it).
  11. Magic the Gathering [Xbox LIVE]

Had to get it really, enjoyed the card game when I was younger, plus 800 msp isn't a bad price. EDIT: there will be dlc according to the games main menu.
  12. [PROTOTYPE] In Stores Today!

It's more that I don't want a penny of my money going towards Activision suing one of the developers that I respect the most, it isn't a permanent boycott, just until they stop being a bunch of dicks to the smaller company, by using bully tactics. I want to stress that Activision used to be one of my favourite publishers. Releasing genuinely good games fairly often, however have recently lost my respect. This being the straw that pissed me off the most. I don't mind yearly updates, I don't mind shit Movie games, I do however hate the common (stereotypical?) American tactic of being unhappy with something that is entirely your fault... then asking yourself what to do, then you sue; it is disgusting. This is for the same reason I went to a university with a strong student union, which has a large influence in the actual university, so my money doesn't go into arms dealings, etc; which some universities support and contribute to.
  13. 1-in-4 men in South Africa are rapists...

What if the woman enjoys it, or had it coming...[/jokes] I also consider it really weird that you (u) would type you out once then use u instead of it, but that is besides the point. also you can resort to violence but you shouldn't, unless they are really backwards or problem causing, like say if someone is going around saying that every brown haired person is going to hell (seriously), I would probably hit them, or laugh at them and call them an idiot. I also don't see how hitting a woman is any worse than hitting a man (especially a small emo man). My main point is that violence is bad and shouldn't be resorted to unless absolutely necessary and that rape is also bad.
  14. Grand Thumb Fortress!

I think it is, so they can update the links or whatever needs to be done. However it won't be out till Autumn.

  16. Favorite Kid's Book

being younger mine will be quite different Beyond the deepwoods (sequels as well) I cannot think of anything else off my head, other than the obvious: Asterix, Goosebumps, Famous five, Harry Potter, and a load of graphic novels.
  17. Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures

I seem to remember that ttg had a system for this with the sam and max seasons, you could always email to ask.
  18. Life

Yeah, it's really quiet especially the last week. Even though a lot of the people I know are still around. I'm not moving out till the 1st but I'm going home to catch up with a few people the coming back to move and for a mate's 21st... fun times. Although it does mean I get to leave the tv and wii out to come back to for the few days between. I'm glad to be moving in with better people though.
  19. FPS/simulation sickness

Haha that is the best reply I have seen on the internet for quite a while.
  20. Life

Urgh I hate how my room looks in halls after taking down all but 4 posters, packing all of my dvds and games, feels really empty, gotta do a 4 hour train journey today too. But on the upside I get to see Anthrax in a few days, and I'm going to 2000 trees in July.
  21. Edge of Twilight

that looks really sweet, surprised I hadn't heard of it.
  22. Greeeeeat... Say hello to the "misinformed" generation

I completely agree on your points, the Secondary school I attended was originally terrible (with promise of getting better). We hardly ever had new textbooks etc, however more recently (about 04-08) it has got a lot better with new everything, due to increasing grade scores etc. I think we had the highest percentage of A grade a levels in the whole of hertfordshire in 2008 (for maths 95% and further maths 100%). However my university (Manchester) has an online system implemented across the whole range of subjects and it is the biggest pile of wank I have ever used (and I have used Sonicstage). This is bettered by the maths departments website and the lecturers own sites. If this is only for books then it could be a good idea, however the loaning of textbooks to students just seems right to me, they use it for questions over the course of the year and then return it once done. If there were online books I would bet there would be printed example sheets, which can cause a lot more waste overall. Also I cannot see this being only used for text books. Finally if you get rid of all of the books then you could never have a decent book burning.
  23. [PROTOTYPE] In Stores Today!

If I buy it will the lawsuit against double fine be dropped? No? Pesonal boycott continues.
  24. FPS/simulation sickness

Source usually does it more than other engines as the field of view is less than that of most other shooters, I believe that it has a FOV of 75 degrees opposed to the standard 90, I think it is possible to expand it somehow though. I have had it with one game (Rainbow six vegas 2) No idea why, probably something to do with the cover system, I didn't get dizzy or anything I felt physically sick, it was not fun. Also I am a fucking retard for not reading your original post properly.
  25. Idle Thumbs... sans thumbs?

    here we go.
