  1. Damn  And everyone complained that the game was "too short"? Whaa?

Anyone else got a different estimate? :)

That sounds about right. I've played around 70 hours and I still have probably a third of the locations undiscovered. Granted I have all the expansions installed.

The main story is just fairly short and way more exciting than in Oblivion, where most people just get bored and start exploring. It doesn't really force or encourage you to go to most of the map. You have to do that all by yourself, which kind of does give the illusion that the game is short.

  2. I'm starting to understand what Chris meant when he said this game absolutely destroys friendships. Even attacking a star feels personal, not to mention fraud. I feel horrible and I haven't even done anything yet. Best game!

EDIT: Also, I can't stop making up lore for my star systems and fleets. It's pretty great.

  3. It's pretty safe if you just stick with the original uploaders you know are reliable. It's been age since I've gotten a virus or trojan of any kind through torrenting. "eztv" is for example the dude I get my TV shows through...

Is it against forum rules to talk about this shit here?

  4. You could always try Pirate Bay. I watch a lot of quality american television that way. Half of all the awesome stuff take forever to air here.

  5. I was scrolling through this thread I have to say that I was really surprised this hadn't been mentioned. It just seems like something that would fit the Thumbs niche of loving the shit out of obscure old games. So I'm going to mention it now; it's the Squadron of Shame podcast, or SquadCast for short.

First a little history. The squadron was born way back during the 1UP Yours years after the failed attempt of the Yours crew to regularly and systematically play through old "shameworthy" games and talk about them at length. Some people on the 1UP forums thought the idea was too good to be wasted so they took up the mantle and decided to call themselves the "Squadron of Shame".

The cast is fucking excellent. They pick a game every now and then as a "mission" and play through it to talk about it on the cast. I've been listening since forever ago and even after all these years and it's still one of my favorite pods on the internet. They tend to have very high-brow and chin strokey conversations about games and they are loong as hell, sometimes maybe even too long, but it's still very much listenable.

    eXtreme recommendation. :tup::tup::tup:

  6. Did you try giving the engagement ring to Max outside BoscoTech labs?

    Er I mean... what?

I can't believe that actually kind of worked.

Damn this was a good episode. I'm really looking forward to this season. It seems though that Telltale has taken a step in a different direction with the story thing. In the earlier seasons it felt more like each episode was kind of it's own thing and the different cases were only loosely tied together with a recurring theme like the mind control or the mariachis, but now it seems like they're going for a more consistent story arc thing. I like it.

Also I love the new Telltale logo animation, especially the audio in it. It somehow reminds me of the Everything is Terrible logo, which I guess is going for a 80's television special effects look. It's pretty great. Good job on that, dude who made it.

And also, wasn't there talk of a scoops reference in the intro. I managed to completely miss it somehow. What was it?

  7. Yeah pretty much, I keep clicking dots but I'm loosing for some reason. Anyone have any tips on how to get better at clicking them?

Wutsi; cool, I guess that answers the question that you can join more then one game at once, because a couple of those guys are in the game I'm in.

Yes you can definitely join more than one. I'm playing 3 myself right now.

Also I'm a horrible cheat so I googled "Neptune's Pride tips" right when I got into my first game. Found this: http://www.rxtx.co.uk/tag/neptunespride/ It's not very deep, but there's some great basic tips and such to get one started... I think... I'm still a complete n00b so I have no clue if they actually work.
