Woo! Got mine too, and it's even more awesome than I expected. I am forever in your debt Nachimir.

At this point I'm ready to buy anything Telltale makes. They can do no wrong in my eyes. Also, I'm excited about goldgamegategoldgamegold-joke possibilities.

Soundtracks for the video-games, and your most beloved ones

Nostalgia goggles are great. Speaking of which; Pokémon! 2QeiH70AUU4 That tune right there is pretty much my entire childhood. -
rFoMvLmfFEY This is the best YouTube Channel!

I'd love a copy, but you probably resolved the situation already.

So me and three of my friends are going on a Europe-wide crusade next month. We plan on buying InterRail tickets, packing a ton of stuff to go and heading to wherever God takes us. Still we would like to have some idea of what the fuck we are doing, otherwise the trip might end up consisting mostly of us getting really drunk and sleeping in shitty train cars. Do the Thumbs have any recommendations on cool stuff we could go check out apart from the obvious sights you expect from Europe?

Civilization IV: Shut the Hell Up, Montezuma

On second thought I don't think I'll be participating at least in this round. You can give n0wak my spot. -
I once tried one of those trade-in deals, but it turned out not a single game I own qualified for the list they had. I mean who wouldn't want to buy a used Rainbox Six: Vegas or Gears of War 2? I also tried Call of Duty 4, but apparently only MW2 is the shit now.

I bought a suit today for my graduation! I tried on a pink tie, but it was too fabulous so I ended up getting a gray one with stripes on it. I still got a pink undershirt though.

I was surfing GOG and found this: http://www.gog.com/en/forum/general/humble_indie_bundle_5_indie_games_for_amp_pound_whatever Apparently people were giving out free codes fairly easily.

That's awesome, I had no idea you're part Swedish. I hope your mom fits the stereotype that all Swedish women are really hot. We too used to always sing this stuff in grade school under Christmas, and not in Finnish either. I was in a Swedish "language immersion" class, thing. (I had to wikipedia that word, it's språkbad in swedish or kielikylpy in finnish)

Thanks for all your suggestions, but I'd also like to know if you guys know any stuff that's happening in Europe during that month. Like cool gigs, parties, events or some such that we could attend. It's mid-summer, there's got to be something going on! That would be extremely cool if it works for you. I'll have to run this through my buddies first though, I don't think they even know what Idle Thumbs is (hah, the simpletons).

Oh so that's where that "my anus is bleeding" sound clip is from.

I always thought it was the whole Citizen Killzone thing that started it.

I honestly thought this was the Onion until I noticed the ABC logo at the bottom. This is terrible!

I felt this needed to be shared. Greatest book title ever. (IGN.com)

I guess I have to change my avatar now that I'm dead in the first game and all. Long live the slimy whisker-lizards with bad acne!

This game looks really weird and experimenty and it's by Jason Rohrer. Check out the slideshow on their site to understand how it works. http://sleepisdeath.net/ Apparently it's mostly going to support LAN and local WiFi play, as while playing over the internet "one player will probably need to fiddle with his or her router settings". So it kind of looks like it's just a way to visualize stories you want to tell. It seems kind of awkward, as it's only two-player and you both would have to sit in the same room to play, but I'm definitely interested. We'll just have to see if I can convince anyone I know to play it with me.

Russia would be fine, except I don't think the InterRail card is any good there. I should have probably posted the countries available. Here's a list: Austria Belgium Bosnia-Herzegovina Bulgaria Croatia Czech Republic Denmark Finland France Germany Great Britain Greece Hungary Ireland Italy Luxembourg Macedonia Montenegro Netherlands Norway Poland Portugal Romania Serbia Slovakia Slovenia Spain Switzerland Sweden Turkey Also, we only have 1 month on us, so we decided that we're mostly going to stick to western Europe for this trip. So probably not anything east of Vienna. (I guess that actually limits a lot)

Yes, well I guess I don't want to be the asshole here, so put me on hold also. I think I actually prefer the settings of the second game, the first game seemed to have a point where it jumped to the end game really quickly after about a week. Obviously I don't know yet how this new game is going to turn out, but expensive science and a bigger galaxy just seems more compelling to me. Also I like the fact that there are huge gaping holes in many points around the galaxy where there are no stars. It seems to give a little breathing room to those who start out in the middle, well except for Murdoc. He's still pretty much fucked. EDIT: Although I can imagine the end game taking fucking forever in a galaxy as big as the one in the second game. 188 stars to win, that's a lot.

Civilization IV: Shut the Hell Up, Montezuma

I like PitBoss. I have no problem with a game taking a long time to finish. It just makes it seem more epic in a number of ways. -
I'm in. I guess I'm completely addicted to this game now.
