  1. It's ten miles south of Aberdeen and those photos don't represent it at all. However, it is bloody cold most of the time :3
  2. We're too small to merit more than a bland Drupal template.
  3. Same here, ever since I got the PS3 I buy my multiplats on it. It's quiet, doesn't crap the discs out every fifteen minutes saying there's an error, I can play single-player games in peace and it has a nice big HDD for installing games to as opposed to my puny 20GB 360 one.
  4. Left 4 Dead VS

Yeah, I got this for the 50% off, probably wouldn't have bothered at anything more than £15 otherwise. If anyone's up for a game: http://steamcommunity.com/id/akumax/
  5. Get Motorstorm Pacific Rift and Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, you could probably get them for a combined £45. Flower should be a high priority, especially given the price.

Both 2 and 3 used pressure sensitive buttons. It's most evident with the weapons. Press and hold square lightly and Snake will draw his weapon. From here, press it hard and he will shoot, ease off and he will holster it. When holding guards by the neck, I think it was circle that could be held down hard to snap the neck and tapped lightly to choke. They're still like this on PS3. Flower is absolutely mindblowing. And <3 is always heart to me.
  8. The last song you got stuck in your head.

"Am I Wry? No" by Mew has cemented itself in me noggin the last couple of days. Which has actually been great!

"This game is so fucking awesome I literally shat up the walls in a cacophonous tirade of liquid cack!" - IGN.com

How did you miss that one Toblix Anyway <3 this game.
  11. Killzone 2

I was debating this game with an ex-Marine(!) on another forum. He's played through the whole thing and I think his reaction to how the game as a whole played was very interesting. This is what he wrote:
  12. Resident Evil 4 Wii

I played this again the other day, to my horror discovering that I was officially cack handed with the controls after a long time away from it. Kept pressing the wrong buttons and everything.
  13. Your internet persona

I've been told I come across as a tosser on forums before. Some people really take to the "gdf" persona, some can't stand it. It's funny that when I end up playing on Live with people, I generally get on best with the guys that maybe aren't so keen on the way I act online. I generally test opinions and stuff in comment sections on news websites or on 4chan, even though there you never get a genuine response. I wish I was a little less of a lazy, layabout turd and could be bothered to write about games more often; I could use the practice if I want to get into it as a career and I'm not the finished article yet even though sometimes I act like I am. IRL, I'm always up for a laugh, barely talk about games, and always try to be more knowledgeable than everyone with regards to... everything, so I can be a pretentious, know-it-all fuck sometimes. People who don't know me think I'm arrogant, and although that's accurate to a degree it's just to do with the way I conduct myself, never been one for false modesty or worrying too much what others think of me. I like these forums right now because I'm brushing shoulders with superior human beings in terms of intellect and talent in many areas, and although I can sometimes feel a little dwarfed, it's a great change from being amongst elders that are less socially aware than I am. I've become very conscious of how often I use "I" when talking on these forums, perhaps it's a subconscious, inflated sense of self importance. Sometimes I'm so desperate to be that elitist Video game prick that I'll lie to myself how much I'm enjoying a game. Good topic Kroms, it's very interesting reading about other people's lives.
  14. February? If you are correct, Sir, I may feel obliged to offer you fellatio. I can't believe it's already a year since that piece of concept art was leaked. Quality find with regards to the video, that guy's got some interesting stuff. <3 Team Ico
  15. Bafta Game Awards 2009

The story is, to put it lightly (and alliteratively), a horrid heap of hackneyed horseshit. It forces you to sit through all this irrelevant dialogue as well, awful, awful design choice. Actually, that was its main problem. Great ideas and concepts with well executed core mechanics, but the window dressing and structure was almost laughably dire.
  16. The last game you played

I bought it as well just because it was cheap. Played through it on 360 when it came out and I haven't yet touched it on PC; damn you Valve and your dangling cheap games infront of my face which I may never play. Anyway, just played me some ActRaiser on the SNES. It does a great job of blending several genres together, and even if the individual elements aren't quite at the same level of refinement as other games at the time, the concept is wonderful and it's something that more games should explore. Hopefully I'll get some time to finish it later this week.
  17. Burnout Paradise

Would it be worth trading in my X360 copy and just getting Ultimate Box for PC?
  18. Killzone 2

You're not alone, I considered just plumping for the plastic one, but I decided the cardboard cover on Metal Gear has already ruined the lineup. I also have a platinum game box, which couldn't appear more out of place. Jealousy on the part of this site. Hilariously it's probably a hypocritical cry for attention.
  19. Street Fighter IV

You're right, kept them for themselves or sold them to mates
  20. Street Fighter IV

Don't think "cheap" and "Hori stick" belong in the same sentence to be honest I'd love an arcade stick, but then I'd have to re-buy loads of fighting games for my Triple and I can't really justify the outlay.
  21. Killzone 2

I certainly hope I'm not vindicated, however given that my most trusted sources have now said it's not all that, just a fairly fun, if run-of-the-mill shooter (Idle Thumbs, Edge, Gamer.no) I am probably predisposed to not liking it now. Enjoy it if you're into it; like all other forms of, well, anything, gaming is subjective. In future I'll try to stop pretending I'm an authority on opinion. There is a whiff of denial around people that hyped it though. I haven't been here long enough to know whether you did or not (presuming no), but it's not getting the same sort of "Holy shit this is something special" reaction Call of Duty 4 did in the build up to release. I also hate console controls for shooting in general, I'd say that the closest I've seen to them being nailed was either Black or Timesplitters 2. Damn, I hate defending myself when I know in my heart of hearts I'm in the wrong. You've reduced me to the mere shell of the hardline elitist prick I strive oh so consciously to be. Have fun playing the game, thank you for making me hate myself. On another note, where have you preordered from? I'm getting the shiny metal box from ShopTo for £33ish, it appears to be the best deal.
  22. Killzone 2

You enjoy something measurably more because it has exceedingly accomplished visuals? Fair enough. Sorry for trolling as well However; I think it's fair to say that, given this is essentially final code, that I played it three or four times over and that presumably the core gameplay won't be altered in any significant way at some stage, I feel qualified to say that Black's stronger in that respect.
  23. Burnout Paradise

To be honest Steam and Games For Windows Live should just unite, Valve can bring their library to Xbox 360 and everyone can be happy.
  24. Street Fighter IV

Can't wait for this, got it preordered on PS3 because the d-pad is far better. LP+LP+F+LK+PPP YES!
