  1. With a... pad? Just stick all the SCUMM games on a DS cart and I'm happy.
  2. Thi4f

What's the best in the series? I demand a quick reference point on which to base my entire perception of the franchise on, preferably a cheap one at that.
  3. Movie/TV recommendations

If you're into self-loathing journeys of selfish self discovery (self), I heartily recommend A Complete History of My Sexual Failures. For those of you less inclined and more into Icelandic crime novel adaptions with religious imagery and some neat twists, give Jar City a spin. If you're not a fan of either, I suggest you go back to your Wolverine and Hannah Montana
  4. Life

Congrats Mike! Just saw your story reposted on RPS, which was a hilarious moment - "Mike Nowak? OH YEAH! Sweet!"
  5. Happy Birthday, Yufster!

Didn't you also do that with a fucking pigeon? Happy not your birthday for two days now
  6. Thi4f

I keep reading it as "Thifrth", what the fuck Eidos? F2r Cry Fall3ut Mass Eff2ct Grand ThIVft Auto Final FantXIIIsy et cetera.
  7. Beyond Better & Evil!

If that's gameplay, I'll shit my pants. Incredible camerawork.
  8. Zeno Clash

So I've just finished it, good game. The combat was effective throughout, and obviously the aesthetics are incredible. Its length was just about right as well, enough to keep it varied but in no way outstaying its welcome. The complaints about the amount of shooting are pretty ridiculous, there's not really much at all - it depends how you play. My biggest gripe was the occasional difficulty in getting swamped by several enemies, you can get caught in a loop of just the fuck being kicked out of your dude, and that's not great design. Overall I enjoyed it, about the right price as well.
  9. Trine

    July.
  10. Trine

My preview code will arrive here hopefully by the middle of next week, can't wait.
  11. Risen (Gothic successor)

I got Gothic off of GOG.com. Believe me, I tried, I tried my best, but the control scheme defeated me. There was a lot to like about it, so hopefully Risen can be like that, but less cack-handed to fucking move and do shit in.
  12. (IGN.com)

Hold on, they literally started a new account to call out fakes? No fun
  13. The should just submit to Steam and work with Valve already. United Steam/XBL profiles would be pretty sweet and all of this running two things to play one game shit would be over once and for all.

Whatever happens with the Twitter account, it was a great idea. If they get annoyed/take it as a joke and acknowledge it's funny, then we've all contributed to something we can be proud of. ";(" - IGN.com
  15. Heavenly Sword

They're great fun actually. By the way, I beat his on, like, my second fucking try when I played it again. The timing wasn't that hard to get
  16. (IGN.com)

    That's awesome.
  17. The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

This is pretty awesome. Now Playing: Pole - Lachen
  18. Heavenly Sword

Enormous bump, but I got this game yesterday. Went for a single-sitting playthrough because I had the chance, and it looked like I was going to do it. Then I got to the last phase of the final boss and after an hour of trying it broke me. The bastard is too fucking difficult.
  19. Why don't we just call them Mads. Or some bullshit marketing term like Player Created Alterations?

  21. District 9

Looks pretty from here. Although I watch a lot of films, I rarely know about them until they're close to release when I see a trailer at the cinema. It's funny that bigger releases more often than not go under my radar just because of the type of film I usually go to see. Thanks for making me aware of this, Jake, it looks at the very least an intriguing premise handled by a couple of guys who clearly know their shit.
  22. Queensday gone wrong

I wouldn't mind if someone tried to kill our Royals, no big loss other than in terms of tourism. Even then we could milk the tributes for years and put the Queen's body in an open casket. That's horrible though, saw some of it on the news. Pretty shit for the families of the people that were killed
  23. Borderlands

Isn't it just one of many techniques that can be used to produce this sort of visual style? I think that's why game designers/artists get touchy when someone calls what they're doing "cel shading". Borderlands has quietly kept me interested since it was announced, but I'm not sure I like the new visuals, bit turned off by them.
