I played this for half an hour today and forgot to save, then got killed stupidly and rage quit.

I started on the SNES and consoles were all I knew until last year. Got all the machines aside from PSP this gen (traded it in), but now I play more games on PC than anything else. Better framerates, more controller options, mods, the awesome indie scene, 25 years of games back compatible, and I buy so many games that the money will balance out in the long run because they're much cheaper on PC. In the meantime, 360 and PS3 can suck my fat one. Even though I like them quite a bit, I've really come to rely on PC. Personal preference really. Plus, I don't have a proper PC desk, there's just like, a massive desk/shelf thing that spans pretty much a whole wall in my bedroom and I use this sweet chair and a footrest (another office chair with the back taken off) for playing any games, so I'm in a comfortable position regardless of the system.

I enjoyed Moon as well. Probably the third best film I've seen this year.

All I tried to do was express my interest in a PC version...

I wasn't being serious. Could still do with a PC release, though.

Glum Buster By: CosMind (Justin Leingang) Available: Free download or donation Synopsis: 2D platformer/twin stick shooty/undefinable game from this unheard of genius. Holy. Fucking. Shit. I nearly wept from the beauty of the whole thing and I've only been playing for twenty minutes. Possibly one of the greatest games ever, something intangible just hit me like a brick wall and I literally gasped in wonderment. It's also charityware, so the more people that donate the bigger the percentage that goes to charity gets. Donated $10 after a few minutes, but I might do so again because it's so magical. Please play this. More: http://www.glumbuster.com/

Shadow Complex looks awesome, but is wasted on the primitive Xbox crowd. Bring it to PC and we'll show it some love. Maybe I'm just bitter because my 360 red-ringed and I can't be arsed phoning them.

So we can agree that this all ended with a wet fart?

Then you made real friends like Chris Remo who you showed a poster he was blown away by. It's just like a real friend but, like, higher graphic fidelity.

I'm pretty excited about these games going up now, probably to a stupid degree. They better not make me pay out the ass for these.
-
I realised that, but didn't know what else to do. Just food for thought. Apparently we're supposed to call them "video games", and I always have, but increasingly I prefer "video games". After all, "computergames" looks dumb, and hey, we might as well have them all match up.

According to The Video game Style Guide and Reference Manual by David Thomas, Kyle Orland and Scott Steinberg (and officially endorsed by Dan "Shoe" Hsu):

I guess I'd rather have GOG.com versions of them, but I'll settle for anything at this point. Oh, and I went back and played through the whole of Half-Life in a few days and loved every second. It's just the second one I have beef with, really, and even then I think it's a great game.

Well, here we are, all grown up and largely ignorant of early 1990s LucasArts adventure games. It may depress you to know that the first LA game I played was probably Rogue Squadron (the experience from which my forum moniker was derived) and still think it's awesome. Ossk, as part of the intended audience for these releases, I ask you to chill the fuck out and lamely echo the sentiments of the last few replies to you. [Oh, Miffy, it looks like you were a similar age to me when you joined these forums. Did you go through an initial "massive wanker who tends to make people annoyed" phase too, or will I forever be condemned to a merely tolerated presence here?]
-
Awesome news for 1990s born idiots like me who couldn't play them before. If the price is right I'll grab Fate of Atlantis.

Jedi Power Battles 2 I'd expect.

I think I can translate guys: "video games"

I haven't paid attention to it until now, thanks for posting that video toblix. Stealth action is my secret fetish, but I got annoyed when MGS4 disappeared up its own arse from the halfway point and forgot how good a sneaking game it actually was. Splinter Cell hasn't been my thing in the past, mainly because I sucked badly at it, but I'm getting a semi just thinking about how good Conviction could be.

The Idle Thumbs Downloadable Content Thread

You mean this one? -
Nice find Patters, wonder how that one slipped through the net... The green audio jack on my PC is bust, so my shitty speakers are useless. I have to get new ones that plug in somewhere else, because I bought five fucking games in the last two days and I can't play without some kind of sound.

Well that wasn't very nice. SignorSuperDouche: You can be agnostic to a degree, but that isn't perhaps the best way of putting it. I can't "know" there is no god(s), but I can say it's pretty unlikely and act on the assumption that there are none. Agnosticism doesn't necessarily mean you think there's a 50:50 chance that each option at hand will be correct. In principle, I take the only apparent rational position of agnosticism, but I don't pretend that unless some pretty strong evidence in favour of the existence of a deity arises I'm going to take it that one doesn't exist. I'm a de facto atheist, but with a wee sprinkling of doubt. [i'm not even going to put the usual "I'm probably a fucking idiot" disclaimer on this one, if there's one thing that scares me about this forum it's having to justify everything I say and then sticking a big fat "maybe I just suck" at the end Still, I'm out of my depth and should probably get the fuck out of this topic]
