DEAR DEVELOPERS OF THE WORLD - I NEED THIS

Oh man. What a weird thing to say, but as drunk as I am now I find it hilarious. -
Shut up, sycophant. Just kidding. But seriously. Maybe "CSI: Blah Blah Blah" will be Toblix's Goty. He's a pretty unique dude (in a good way, of course). (embarrasing admission forthcoming) I have a word document where I've listed all the games that 'blix seems to be really keen on, and it's quite different, I'm sure it's very very different from what would come up if I made a list of anyone else. No offense or anything, but who are you to say what's GOTY material and what isn't. The answer to this kind of question is bound to be unique to each individual, especially when the motherfucker in question is a rad, individualistic motherfucker like Toblix.

Do NOT forget: Trials HD. Muthafuckas.

You ate milk? No wonder you're bummed.

anybody playing this on the PS3 (I am)? Anybody played both and know how they compare?

Yarg! Nobody likes this game, apparently. I know Atlus has only a little to do with it, but anytime I see the word "Atlus" I cream my pants. I don't care about the Zelda connection, it just looks like it has a funky-ass style and from software is suddenly fuckin' dope (Demon's Souls). I just have a good feeling about it. Anytime a game takes a chance on being "outside the box" I fall in love (Mirror's Edge, for example).

Yeah...FUCK! I can't decide whether to get an NVIDIA brain or AVI. AVI is cheaper but I want PHYSX support! -
Just saying: Recommendation: Mystery Quest on the History Channel.

I think it could be AWESOME!!! especially if people were continually working on the mod...imagine a fallout style gameworld where you can have interactions that CHANGE THE FUTUREEEEEE!!!!! (I'm Peter Molyneux). Admittedly, it probably wouldn't be as awesome in practice as it is in theory (which we saw with the Fable series) but what if they really could... Also, I don't know if Crysis could be modded to support the kind of gameplay I'm thinking of. Oh, well...to dream... And then if it happens, I'll be able to play it in like 10 years when I have a computer that will run Crysis and everybody's injecting Crysis 17 into their eyechips. -
Let me know, because if you grab it and you know other cool people who we can play with, I promise I'll pick it up. The demo felt really smooth and I want to play this.

I forgot about that. Oh well. Somehow...this seems different from that. Fez isn't trying to do a warped take on 8-bit graphics the way this is, is it?

If it were me, I'd also play: "Adult Books" by X and "Rock & Roll Club" by Richard Hell & the Voidoids But that's art punk, and I've never thrown a party. -------------- Also: "Party All the Time" by Eddie Murphy "Kill All Hippies" by Primal Scream "Common People" by Pulp "Godstar" by Psychic TV "Lucretia, My Reflection" by The Sisters of Mercy "Always See Your Face" by Love "Can't Seem to Make You Mine" by The Seeds And just for the sake of love...I'd probably throw on "Reel Around the Fountain" by the Smiths at some point, but I don't necessarily reccomend it at this party (you might get away with playing the Cure though). Depending on the people, I'd probably be avoiding anything trendy enough to be reviewed on pitchfork, unless it's in the reissues section (no Vampire Weekend! They're a good band, but they've got to be against the rules in this situation). Even though they've got a lot of cache with hipsters, my instinct is to avoid Animal Collective and Panda Bear (except his obscure, out-of-print first album) but maybe you can make the exception of some live acoustic recordings of Avey Tare and Kria Brekken during quiet moments if there are any. Then again, I'm kind of anti-hipster, so if these people are mainline hipsters, that probably changes everything. Also: I don't know if British hipsters are different (see, I was going to make reference to Pabst Blue Ribbon, but it's England, so...) How would you describe the average expected party guest.

I might. I'm in the same boat you are (can't play on PC). I just don't know if I'll have the money--it's not a top priority on my games wishlist. I still don't have Forza 3 or Uncharted 2.

Yeah, I mean, it's not like they're not aware it's kind of cheesy. Again: it's Atlus for Christ's sake. They know what they're doing. To me, it's actually kind of clever that they've come up with a goofy way to make an analogue to pixel-art in 3D...whoever developed this...if they hadn't done so...I doubt any one else would have thought of it.

Your face kinda misses your mom! Edit: C'mon, it's Atlus. How could it be wrong?

I think what we need to do first is rally the troops. Everyone who is interested in being a part of an idlethumbs forum members podcast should make it known and then we can start talking about the how and when etc...

Congrats, Kingz. I read that you're getting married but that's all I know (fuck the length of that post).

"Keep it Pure" by The Tough Alliance "52 Girls" by The B-52s "Etheric Device" by Glass Candy "Only Shallow" by My Bloody Valentine "Je n'attends Plus Personne" by Francoise Hardy "Computer NR. 3" by France Gall Edit: Oh! And definitely "Je T'aime Moi Non Plus" by Jane Birkin & Serge Gainsbourg...possibly "Bonnie and Clyde" by Gainsbourg and Brigitte Bardot, depending on how far you wanna push the hip French pop thing.

I don't know if we still have it!

At my place of employment, they had something called Wizard's Worchestershire sauce. The only sad part was having no one around who would understand why it was funny.

Yeah, I have a really hard time accepting "gameiness" maybe because I wasn't seriously into video games until 2008. I play a lot of games as an experience of a world rather than a set of mechanics, and so I'm usually dissapointed by games that promise to be experiential but can't hide the mechanics. I don't know of any game that really manages what I'm looking for, my expectations are probably too high. Maybe someday... Sometimes, like with Fallout 3, I play the game so much that the mechanics become second nature and are assimilated into my experience of the gameworld, and that's when they're truly transcendant. That's why I think Fallout 3 is probably the best game I've ever played. -
I'm finally installing it. Ready to dig in.

What I meant was: It's cool when video games don't go overboard with trying to have an intricate story...because no matter what, it's going to be a dumb story. So it might as well be kind of dumb on purpose.
