First XBLIG game I bought without trying the demo. I just get excited when there's something on there that looks like a real game.

I was going to say...having never played this game, but having heard a lot about it...I never expected it to look so gaudy.
-
Miffy, I'm sure that was the whole point.

One of my favorite things is doing the crazy stuff that leads to the "stunt driver" points. Have you encountered those yet?

I'm getting closer and closer to buying this (TF2) and trying to run it on my Intel GMA 950 with fingers crossed.

"the GameCrush Public Beta is temporarily unavailable due to the incredible user response (more than 10,000 inquiries in five minutes)."

Thanks for the link synthgerb...that's a very interesting site.

Yeah, there are so many variations on that one. It's like a jazz-standard of Spam.

This shit is nuts: "Beloved one, I greet you with all my heart. It is true that this letter may come to you as a suprise. But nevertheless, i ask you to give me your attention and hear me well. I am Mrs Celine Johnson from Cote D'ivoire, married to late David Johnson who was the executive accountant with the Cote D'ivoire ministry of resources and energy before he died after a brief illness. During the period of our marriage we have only a son (Nelson Johnson) who is now sixteen years old. I have a liver damage (Cancer) and i can't live longer than four months from now according to what my doctor told me. When my late husband was alive he deposited the sum of $13,800,000.00 USD (Thirteen Million Eight Hundred Thousand USA dollars) with a bank here in Abidjan Cote D'ivoire. The money was registered under Fix deposit account. Presently, the money is in custody of the bank. I cannot think of any body else trying to kill me apart from my late husband brother in order to inherit the money because my son is only 16 years old. All i need from you is to invest the fund for my only son, take care of him as your own son and give him a good education even when am no more. I will issue a vital document that will prove you the right beneficiary of the fund in the bank here in Abidjan Cote Divoire. After the transfer of the money into your bank account,my son shall relocate to your country to start a new life under your care. I hope that you will not betray this trust if i change the deposit documents to your name and make you the new beneficiary.. If you can be of assisatance to my son,i will really appreciate it with all my heart. This message is very urgent. Remain blessed, Mrs Celine Johnson."

Also this: "Hello, looking for a Russian bride? Come and see my profile. I need a strong man, reliable and supportive. I’m a very romantic and caring person; I have lots of interests. Look at my pictures." "I have lots of interests," is a funny thing to say in this context if you really think about it. Another one: "This is to inform you that you have won a prize money of five hundred thousand pounds." And this from a random fake person I've never heard of: "Hi, John, How are you? Have you already signed up for the online casino I had advised you? I highly recommend it! I'm writing you to invite for the celebration of the jackpot that I won on Friday. Come with Ann, I hope she'll change her mind about gambling. I'll call you later to agree the time. Regards, Ronald." It's funny because the email says it's from someone called Angel Tate, but it's "signed" Ronald. See if you catch the unintentional Dragon Age reference: "Hello my dear. Hey, want to marry a Russian beauty? I want you, my good man. Come to my profile - you'll get a surprise! You want what would you be good? Come to me."

Since you're fairly new, I want to address this. I don't know if you're using the term "textwall" with a negative connotation, but I just wanted to tell you not to feel self-conscious about making long posts. If you're going to have a good discussion you need to be able to write as long a post as necessary to say what you want to say. I personally like long posts because if someone is taking the time to write several paragraphs they pretty much always have something worthwhile to say...I think most other thumbs would agree with me on this. I'm sorry if I'm being weird, here, or reading too much into your use of "textwall." I just thought it was a good opportunity, since we've had a lot of new users coming in to make sure it's clear that although the Idle Thumbs forums are on the internet, we're not "THE INTERNET," as such. There are no flame wars here, and no use of terms like "TL;DR" People want to discuss things with you and they will always be friendly and civil. This is quite a special forum, really, especially compared to almost all other video game forums. Anyway...I'm going to close with a fart smilie so this post doesn't seem too touchy-feely.

The Idle Thumbs Podcast Episode 4: Super Expert Pro
Garple replied to Jake's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
What a weird episode this was. I really enjoyed how it was about so many totally random things even when those things had little or nothing to do with video games. -
It worked. Do you know of good multiplayer indie games on PC that have low requirements? I have a lot of good sources for free indie games, so I'll post them somewhere if I find good multiplayer ones.

Condolences, sir. If you need any additional tomfoolery you can find a good amount of it on the forums here and in online games among thumbs. -
Hmm...can't find you either. Whut up wit dAt!1!!

Were you wearing a tweed jacket when you typed this? "What my colleague fails to understand..." "My colleague clearly makes these assertions based on his insufficient knowledge of..."

Jesus! What games??? I need them for my bachelor pad. "Tiki Lounge, Martin Denny records and electronic games, babe. Wink. Oh, yeah...that bookcase folds out into a heart-shaped bed.

Good . I like when people are worse at games than me (though I've only played TF2 on X360). My Steam name is benzino521. I've never used Skype, though.

I have all three (GTA, Forza and PD), and, Armchair, I might be able to get L4D or at least TF2 running on some low settings (I've a hand-me-down laptop with an Integrated chipset, you see). And as for the drinking...it's not that I drink gallons of hard liqour at all times...it's not the quantity as much as the fact that, for a while, I've been getting drunk 2 or 3 times a week, just sitting around by myself for lack of anything else to do and it really takes a toll on schoolwork and stuff because it makes me waste a good chunk of the day...it's just a terrible, sad thing to do. Plus I'm on liver taxing meds, so I really shouldn't be drinking. I think I can get a handle on it if I really try, because I'm not an especially heavy drinker and it's been a problem for less than a year, though. Thanks, guys. You are all quite rad.

I liked the joke even though I didn't get it until after your explanation. Just so you know, Idle Thumbs protocol when you want to acknowledge that you've made a cheesy joke is to use the "get me coat" emoticon which looks like this: . You're not required to use it, of course, I'm just saying .

Wow, you really are a PC gamer. Get it? PC? opinionated in a way that is different from me? Thanks for your input and your advice on the PC multiplayer options (though I don't have the hardware for them).

My new favorite pastime is flying aircraft over water and jumping out of them, then gliding around with my parachute while I watch the chopper spiral toward the ground and explode. Also, like Far Cry 2...this game has beautiful sunsets!!!
