Damn...you guys remember the dialogue too well for your own good. I've played this game, but I wouldn't have noticed the difference if you hadn't pointed it out.

No! I hope I do soon. when I first saw the snow I was like? What??? then I realized...I'm high up in the mountains, of course there is snow. I like the way that you get the hang of the parachute/grappling hook combo as you go along without any explicit tutorial.

This talk of broken DS's is reminding me I've neglected my DS for a long time, which is egregious, because I have such affection for the platform. Time to whip it out and play some Bangai-O Spirits. By the way, if you have a DS and don't own that game, you're dumb.

I've played a bit of the 360 version and just want to let my console brethren know it's pretty smooth. If you're someone who plays a lot on PC I can see why you'd prefer the PC controls but it's certainly playable on X360, so just buy it. It's only $5.

Jesus Christ, the thumbs are smart as an overall group. That explains why the discussion is so good.

No, I agree...it sounds like they're trying to make an RPG that feels tactile which is a rare thing, if it exists at all and I'm definitely for that. If you're trying to "role-play" you should feel like you have a lot of control over the character. Usually RPGs give you control over all aspects except the physical, but if you're playing a melee dude who lumbers around, you want to feel a little bit like you're inside his body (in a non-sexual way )

I don't hope that...because what am I gonna do, talk to her? Talk about scary!!!

Yeah we usually end up talking even if we're playing separate games, just out of habit. That being said, if anyone sees me "Strummer521" on Xbox Live and wants to have a chat with a fellow thumb, feel free to send me a party invite, even if I'm playing a different game than you are.

The only bad thing about Idle Thumbs (forums & podcast) is it makes you feel really bummed out if you don't have a PC:frown:. (Cue world's smallest violin) .

Oh my God! I just used a computer console to overload an huge oil pipeline and blow it up, and Rico said "Try to transport fuel now, you pipeline jerks!" I think that's the most joyously goofy bit of dialogue I've ever heard in a game. It's definitely on par with "master of unlocking."

Totally disagree. Haven't you ever played online with any of our awesome forum members? If you play games online regularly with someone, you can certainly end up becoming friends with them.

The Idle Thumbs Podcast Episode 4: Super Expert Pro

It looks cool, but I don't get the joke. What am I missing? -
Let us know what you think. I'm interested in this game.

Greed Corp is a hex-grid turn-based game in which you collect resources by harvesting the environment. You destroy tiles little by little as you harvest them for resources so you have to strike a balance between preserving your territory and having enough resources to defeat your opponent. It's got a really nifty, quaint aesthetic too. It's pretty simple and easy to get into. Blix, or anyone else, PM me if you happen to buy Greed Corp or you want to "get together" for some kind of other 360 strategy gaming.

He's got a point. It's designed to be more wet and wild than most modern FPS games. It doesn't depend on the extreme precision of Modern Warfare 2. It's more about jumping around like a goofball on top of the capture points and hoping you don't get hit by a rocket.

I guess that's probably why they call it "The Passing."

giant bomb's got a quicklook...

My word! I hope there are no children browsing this thread.

Stop. You're making me so hot!

Does anyone ever play this on 360?

Yeah. I looked around a bit too...I checked this obscure website I always consult for these issues (it's a community of people who game on GMA 950 chips and they figure out how to get a lot of stuff running on them...they even mod drivers and stuff) there was a guy who gave a long description complete with detailed config. that allowed him to run the game, but it sounded like frame-rate drops were a big problem. I decided not to gamble my $20 on it. Instead, I bought a huge pack of old Kalypso strategy/sim games on GOG which I linked to in the general video game deals thread. Edit: I have TF2 on the 360 if anyone wants to lower himself to my level.
