  1. The Witcher

I really like the beta for EAT AT JOE's but I hope the finished Mc'Donalds version will have dedicated servers...Pepsi.
  2. Recently completed video games

It's kind of troubling to me that books is in some miscellaneous section when anime gets its own. Also that books are sort of being equated with television.
  3. General Video Game Deals Thread

    What are you talking about?
  4. Making Music

If you have more recordings, please post them, Toblix. Were you playing live drums (well...cymbals)?
  5. Recently completed video games

I think it's just that big because he happened to pick up a marker that day.
  6. Formula Thumb

Have an appointment and then some studying to do. I intend to get more involved with thumbs multiplayer as soon as I can though.
  7. Life

That's like when people say "I haven't eaten since breakfast," and you're like, "So what? It's fucking noon."
  8. Hock and Sock leaves Ubisoft

"Want some milk?" "No thanks, I don't like video games."
  9. General Video Game Deals Thread

    so's your face.
  10. Fallout: New Vegas

    Often, pies have fruit filling.
  11. I'm totally going to name my funk-rap band "Freak #1" when it's 1987.
  12. Halo Reach

I thought 2 was terrible, but I quite liked 3. I felt that 3 did a good job making a bunch of references to the other films and tying every thing together and it was interesting in that seeing Anakin become Vader was very interesting in light of everything we knew about Vader from episodes 3, 4 and 5. I thought the Volcano battle scene was pretty great (thank god they got a real actor to play grown up Anakin). I don't really like Star Wars that much in general, so I don't care about stuff like midichlorians and when people complained about the acting in the prequels I always felt like they were going to McDonald's and complaining because they couldn't order fillet mignon. Edit: also keep in mind I really really liked Jar Jar. Like: he was my favorite character in Star Wars. So I certainly wasn't in the mainstream with my opinion.
  13. Halo Reach

To this day I still don't know why people dislike that movie so much. admittedly, I haven't watched it in about 9 or 10 years.
  14. Plug your shit

Groucho used to write abstract poems on account of: he's weird. By the way, if you like experimental-type fiction and poetry, elimae is probably the best electronic lit journal around.
  15. I read on Kotaku that they might release Peace Walker as a PSN game for PS3 in addition to the main PSP release. If they do, I hope they can upscale the graphics or something.
  16. Flotilla

I played the first mission. put it away to do something else and never returned. I really liked what I saw of it though. One of the coolest art styles I've seen in a game. EVER!
  17. Fallout 3

All I can say is: "OR ARE THEY???" Definitely explore that town.
  18. Fallout 3

Idlethumbs.net Seriously, that's a great boxquote. Also, I agree. My character specialized in stealth (and small firearms). It got to the point where I could pick almost anybody off from a quarter-mile away before they even saw me.
  19. Halo Reach

I'm going to choose this, admittedly inappropriate, time and place to admit that I have a huge soft spot for Episode One. It came out at just the right time for me to love it (I was 11 and I found Jar Jar Binks hilarious). Plus, as a friend of mine pointed out, it's the only film in which you get to spend some time seeing the Republic as it is before it's ripped apart by intergalatic war. I even read the fucking novelization.
  20. Making Music

Ableton Live is one of my favorite pieces of music software. It's mostly oriented towards loops and samples, but you can do a lot with it in terms of midi and even convert your samples into midi so that you can do midi sequencing with samples of all different kinds (whatever you feel like using) so you're basically able to create your own keyboard voices. The only drawback is that it's very expensive so I don't know that I can recommend it. I have the lite version which is pretty limited but not nearly as much as you'd expect which ran about $150. I pirated the deluxe version back in my pirating days and goddamn it was nice. But because of the high cost of entry on music production software I'd recommend starting out with some freeware to get a feel for what's possible with midi sequencing on the PC and what kind of features you're looking for. Unfortunately, I can't make any recommendations on that front. I suppose this post was not very helpful at all, and yet it's such a long post.
  21. Monkey Island 2: SE

    I can imagine it.
  22. Hock and Sock leaves Ubisoft

Why do you? I'd like to read it. I almost bought Chaos Theory at the local video store that's going out of business (1 of 3 doing so in the last few months) but hesitated because XBOX Live was going down and I had the vague idea in my head that people mostly liked Chaos Theory for the multiplayer.
  23. Halo Reach

They mentioned this game on the Giant Bombcast recently (Star Wars RC, that is), I think it was probably to compare it with Reach, so after two namedrops of it, my curiosity is stoked. What makes that game special and would it be worth playing in the current day?
  24. Fallout: New Vegas

Even assuming all trees weren't destroyed by the nuclear blast, nearly all the trees would have probably been cleared for building shelters, firewood etc... don't you think? I imagine that a situation like the denizens of the Wasteland found themselves in during the early days after the bombings (before the vaults were built and stuff like that) would lead to a hoarding of all available resources, much like the resource hoarding you find yourself doing in the game. That was one of my favorite parts of Fallout 3: the metagame of managing your inventory, deciding which of your precious possessions you'd sacrifice so you could run again and stockpiling radroach meat and old cereal in case you ran out of stimpaks.
  25. Hock and Sock leaves Ubisoft

Patters will talk about Chaos Theory at every possible opportunity. It's his Far Cry 2.
