  1. Woah, I somehow completely forgot. Sorry guys.
  2. I thought it was from one of the episode intros where somebody said some nonsense.
  3. Anyone Remember?

I think the longest Goldblum thing was probably in episode 43 which is when I think it first appeared judging by the title OK. EDIT: On closer inspection maybe not. Perhaps it was at the end of the end of the original run.
  4. While he is obviously being needlessly dismissive, does anyone think there is something to the following passage?: Obviously he's got a somewhat outdated view of what games are (how many actually include points these days?), but I kind of agree that the further they move from these principles, the less they seem like "games" in the traditional sense. Of course, the problem with any alternative terminology is that it always sound incredibly pretentious. I would disagree with him on the implied claim that if they are not a game, they become a representation of some other art form. I think it's quite possible for an interactive ex-game thing to become something with its own distinct identity; indeed, I think these are the things with the best chance of being art (in my terms, anyway). The interactivity has to be key, but must be something beyond "kill the man to win the game". It has to do something that other media cannot do in the same way. I don't think that interactivity or uncertain outcome are barriers to artfulness, but I kind of feel like competition, winning and losing in most cases would be. The exceptions would be very specific instances where something about competition, winning or losing is being expressed (beyond the pure experience of it). I guess, as is often the case, it's really just a question of terminology. Is a game with the qualities necessary to be art still a game? Of course, none of this matters a great deal. A thing doesn't need to be art to be valid, and a thing doesn't need to be a game to be enjoyable. I suppose in this post I've been equating "art" with "high art"; by these standards most films are not art, and possibly neither is a lot of music. There is certainly stuff in gaming that is exciting to me in the same way as art might be. Also, there is an awful lot of dumb crap. I wouldn't get angry about whether someone thinks it's art or not. Perhaps it's its own whole new thing.
  5. Neptune's Bountiful Pride

Oh shit, it's boring enough for someone to drop out? I don't know about this... <? include 'toblix.sig'; ?>
  6. The threat of Big Dog

    I miss the robotic BigDog.
  7. Most disgusting thing you've ever done

I think the point is that this was a unique experience for ThunderPeel, who presumably has imbibed similar quantities of alcohol before and since, and he wants to know why the onset was so sudden and unexpected. Presumably the effects were exacerbated by the aforementioned factors (lack of food, etc.) to a degree sufficient to tip things over into black-out-and-sick territory.
  8. Neptune's Bountiful Pride

Oh wow, I completely missed the second page. My previous post is therefore dumb. Enjoy your game everyone!
  9. MW1 campaign is good, but if anything, shorter than MW2. Also, I'm sure you could find some willing Spec-Ops partners on here. I'd offer to assist, but I got pretty fed up after doing them all on Veteran at least twice (once on PS3, once on PC). Maybe, though.
  10. Neptune's Bountiful Pride

I could join a game if people don't mind me not having the faintest clue what I'm doing (I'm bad enough at strategy games as it is) and possibly forgetting that it's going on at some point maybe and therefore leaving my people to die. It sounds interesting, but I often think that about strategy games and then discover I'm too stupid for war. As far as I can tell, there isn't mobile-specific or mobile-friendly version of this game, is that correct? As I think has already been suggested, the slow pacing sounds well suited to playing on a phone while on the train or something. I mean, I don't know, I haven't even tried the game yet, but it sounds like it's not exactly twitch action or hardware-intensive. I'm guessing all it would need would be some smart interface design.
  11. Obligatory comical YouTube thread

    Apparently he's in jail!
  12. Most disgusting thing you've ever done

This conversation is awful. You are awful, Andy. Can't we all get along in our pedantry?
  13. Most disgusting thing you've ever done

Perhaps, but your two-stage follow-up was a mess.
  14. Most disgusting thing you've ever done

    Nice recovery Andy
  15. Most disgusting thing you've ever done

Hey, I didn't actually learn that until some point in 2009, so I don't think it's a major error or anything. I'm just sharing my discovery.
  16. Most disgusting thing you've ever done

Apparently it's not actually electrocution unless you die; what you experienced was an electric shock. Yes, I'm that guy.
  17. Giantbomb- Now with quests.

I believe Spafford has had a page for some time now, also. It was pretty bare-bones last I checked, though.
  18. Most disgusting thing you've ever done

As featured on GTA voice chat one time (under the descriptor, "speaking of depressing things and bathrooms"): One day I woke up feeling inexplicably sick. This was quite unusual for me, as I rarely do stuff adventurous enough to cause me to become ill. My stomach felt awful, so, still in nothing but my boxers, I stumbled to the toilet and tried to shit it all out. It turned out I'd miscalculated the nature of my illness, and I suddenly found myself vomiting on my own crotch. It was simultaneously horrendous and hilarious. On my way to the shower, I managed to leave a bit of sick on the shower curtain, which was apparently was quite potent, as there's still a mark there. I'm not particularly into gross-out humour, but I do find outrageously shambolic and generally hopeless things amusing, and that definitely ticked those boxes.
  19. Movie/TV recommendations

My horror film aficionado friend told me it was great in a neo-80s kind of way.
  20. Red Dead Thumb

Can I be Big Dog Murray?
  21. The Best of PC Gaming

HEY ANDY, YOUR DIRECTORY STRUCTURE IS SHOWING.
  22. Giantbomb- Now with quests.

I only have one S-rank (MW2). I have a few platinums on PS3, but it doesn't look like trophy integration will be fixed in the foreseeable future. I've been chasing GB achievements quite a bit over the past few days. I'm not convinced this is a good idea in my case. I'm not really absorbing a great deal. I'm a shitty user. On the other hand, it may be great for other people, so I have no objection to it.

Yeah, nobody would believe me if I said that I thought Toblix had a way with words. Cock. Alternatively: Plenty of people in this nice place can say words nicelier than me. Alsotively: I generally lack insight beyond gut reactions which probably don't stand up to close inspection. I've considered what it would be like to consume media for review, and I'm not sure I'd have it in me. Thank you nevertheless, of course. You are my favourite piece of furniture. Also: Blix. Also: Vanity.
