That's exactly what I wanted to hear . I've been hoping this would be a good, mindless romp but Ritchie can be a mite unpredictable quality wise. I'm not sure it'd be fair to call Sherlock Holmes a u-turn in Ritchie's career though - I thought his last film was jolly good fun too.

After two years of being "only two months away" it looks like the Pandora might actually materialise. The development is pretty much done and mass production should start very soon. I don't know how much interest there is in the Pandora here, but I think it's pretty cool that a small bunch of disparate enthusiasts can come together and actually produce something like this - even if it has been disaster after disaster.

The analogue nubs, dpad etc should be great but as for the software ... well there is a simplified user interface for people who don't want to run a full linux desktop (it boots much faster for one thing) but we'll have to wait and see how good it is. I'm fairly certain this will be a geeks only affair. Still, as a super teeny tiny laptop I think it's pretty nifty and the fact that it was made by some dudes on a forum makes it super fucking cool in my eyes If the first batch of users don't have any major issues I'm probably going to grab one from the second batch. I don't have a PMP so that aspect adds to the value for me too, but as the only person on the planet without an iPhone I'm probably alone on that one.

Ohh, I'm enjoying these. This one is my fave so far: It's kind of sweet in a way.

I thought I'd leave a proper comment this time. The fact that Josie (or Jocie apparently?) Long is involved makes it a must buy for me. I have the biggest crush on that woman. Has anyone else been watching The Thick of It? It has survived the loss of Chris "research" Langaham and is, in fact, better than ever. Those who claim the show is a one trick pony are incorrect - I can see how people get the impression it's just a Scottish bloke swearing but there's actually been character development and everything this series.

I recently played through Earthbound for the first time. I can honestly say it felt like it could have come out yesterday on the DS. It was like playing a Japanese RPG made by Tim Schafer. Superb stuff.

Sadly it's not GOTY material (are you seriously expecting it to be?). It is pretty good, but a million unnecessary minor annoyances soured it somewhat for me. Telltale really needs someone with HCI qualifications to polish up their games. This is going to sound horribly sycophantic, what with Ben being a regular around these parts and all, but Time, Gentlemen Please is probably my GOTY. Laughed out loud more times than I could count.

As I'll tell anyone who'll listen these days, The La's are amazing. They're relatively old and obscure (apart from There She Goes, but nobody knows who sings it anyway) and you're guaranteed some indie cred. I'd recommend Knock Me Down or Feelin', bonus cred points if you can get hold of the Mike Hedges versions.

I haven't seen the show (hadn't heard of it till you mentioned it actually) so I may have got the wrong idea here, but here's the problem I'm seeing: Telling people they are beautiful when they are not is counter productive. This perpetuates the idea that beauty is the be all and end all and will only ever end in tears for the vast majority people. What you should be saying is that not being beautiful is OK. Most people aren't beautiful, if they were it would just be called being normal. As I say I haven't seen the show, this is just my impression of it, so I could be way off base here.

Has the film been redited too? If it hasn't then avoid it and if it has then probably avoid it anyway. That movie looked amazing but actually sucked balls.

I'd been wondering the same thing. If metalheads saw this as taking the piss out of metal would they steer clear? I think Spinal Tap is really popular amongst metal fans, and that really is taking the piss, so maybe not. Not sure
