I found something interesting out yesterday! Apparently, the original mode for L4D was Versus. The normal Coop was an afterthought post Valve buying Turtlerock actually. The other two campaigns have all the monster hookups (zombie climbing spots, etc). You can play them on servers that have the hacked vs maps enabled. It makes a lot more sense now why they have those hookups. Actually smalltown_vs is pretty good, not terribly unbalanced feeling except for a part here or there. Also it would be cool if you could bump up the difficulty in friends only games.

Well anyhow M-F after 5:30 til about 8 works for me. Can't do this week though, heading out of town heading up to Washington tonight and won't be back til Monday.

Holy crap, I just spit out coffee from laughing at the Joe Pesci bit. This podcast makes me laugh everytime.

Speaking of LEGO like games, have you guys ever tried Blockland?

When do you get off work? I usually start around 5:30-6:00 to wind down the work day.

It seems like a cool place to work. I love how untraditional the magazine content is vs. most mainstream gaming magazines, which is probably what attracts me to it. I hooked up one of their editors with my girlfriends Dad. I think they are going to write an article on him. That would be cool.

All very true, great article. EDGE is a great magazine, one of the very few I subscribe too, and the only game one really (outside GameDeveloper Mag, but that comes free somehow).

The Patriot Act is pretty scary in length. The name is killing me though, no one wants to touch it 'lest they be called "unpatriotic". It really needs to be revised dramatically, here's hoping.

Time to invest in testing companies. These laws strike me as just simple ways to make money. Case example: The ammunition ID laser etching law that has been floating around unsuccessfully for years. Law proposes that all ammunition manufactured will be required to have a unique identifier number etched into the bullet and casing. That number is recorded at point of sale so they can track bullets and casings back to the purchaser. Outside of whether or not that is a good idea or bad idea, the funny part is the law was introduced by members of congress with vested interest in the sole company who has a patent on the technology to laser etch bullets. Said company has been spending millions to lobby the bill (unsuccesfully). Silly laws like this always seem to have a hidden agenda, but I'm dubious of everything. Even kittens.

Hell yeah it was, I was just thinking the same thing. That was an awesome implementation of iMUSE. Also, you know what is even more awful? As a young teen I couldn't convince the parents to loan me some benjamins for a real sound card. They felt my pain and one Christmas I woke up thinking I got an awesome soundcard. To my horror it was a Disney Sound Source. At least it worked for Blake Stone.
