Upgrading? (The "I really want to play Bioshock but don't want a 360" thread)
Coldkill replied to Tanukitsune's topic in Idle Banter
Well, why get something that you don't need in the case of the CPU and RAM? Although I'd recommend 2gb if you don't already have it. There are some nice budget cards around that will play Bioshock quite happily and I think the X1950 has come down a lot in price since I got mine. Extremely nice card though, just a bit big :S. -
Heh, that was funny. The ending was kinda... strange...

My 2 most enjoyed games on my PS3 were Heavenly Sword and Ranbow Six Vegas. The other two, dare I mention them? Were steaming hot piles of shite that should have never been released and should burn in development hell for the rest of their born, and indeed unborn lives.

If that photo's been doctored then I sank the titanic with my mind a few hundred years before I was born. Get the tinfoil hats!

Heh, that keyboard does look cool but I personally don't have however much that would be in pounds to spend on a keyboard.

When watching "Runaway Bride"(?) I was utterly appalled at Catherine Tate, I'm hoping she's not going to do many Dr. Who episodes . "The Impossible Planet" and "The Satan Pit" were both awesome episodes. It seems some they make are extremely well written and enjoyable to watch, some on the other hand are either just utter rubbish or good at the start and ruined some how.

Was an awesome watch. Dr Who: Something the BBC got right! Also yes, spotted the teaser for the new series, although, they aren't going to do a huge amount of new episodes I've been told.

Indeed, Yahtzee's reviews aren't meant as a buying guide for games. They are only meant for entertainment. Which I believe on most occasions he has delivered.

I gotta say, that guy is very good at his job

... Crap... No, it looks like Britney raided a Pie factory in the first picture. Hell, she's even giggling about it by the looks of it: It doesn't tend to go well when I talk with and/or about guys girl friends... Imagine beer, friends girl friend and a walk home in the rain
-
Jebus, did she raid a pie factory or something? Also, I think I should be quiet about other guys girlfriends... It doesn't tend to go well when I err... nvm...

Indeed, cures are being developed but far too slowly for my liking! Terrible news anyway

Oh god. The laughs I experience while reading these boards. Please keep it up. Also on another note, interrupting sex is never a good thing. It can confuse and infuriate the participants -
I would venture the theory that people believe that giving big, expensive presents shows their love and affection for someone. Christmas being the time of year to show a kindly attitude towards your fellow man, some people take that as "Give them presents!" This attitude may have spurred on many shops to stock items for Christmas in an effort to cash in on this mentality. I personally believe that Christmas is too commercialised and that children now believe it is a time for presents rather than a time for thought for ones fellow man and giving to those that do not have the benefits most of us enjoy something.

lol. Sometimes you've just got to laugh at things. Otherwise you'd cry. Well I wouldn't but someone might... like that McCann woman...

needed a good laugh. What fun it is to laugh at stupid people.

Zero Punctuation > Some Punctuation. Besides the guy not having a very clear voice to start with, speeding it up just made it worse. I think he needs to learn to open his mouth or something. Sounded like he was trying to mumble at high speed.

I've got a PS3, had one for a little while now. The range of games available is pretty dismal compared with the X-Box 360 or the Wii but that's going to change at some point in the future if Sony are to be believed. Heavenly Sword is an awesome game in my opinion. Especially on a HDTV. Also, here is a comparison of the PS3, X-Box and Wii: http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/xbox360_ps3_wii.asp After reading that it wasn't difficult to make up my mind about which one I wanted.

A non-definitive list of people who should not be allowed to live.
Coldkill replied to Ginger's topic in Idle Banter
People who like to use "L337 SP34K" (leet speak) should be added to this list. Besides mostly not being able to spell correctly to start with, they like to add in numbers and letters to words to make them even more difficult to understand. -
That's true but there are other titles where the horror of violence and death can be witnessed. Here it is just senseless killing for the sake of killing. Yes it shows that violence can be brutal but does showing off the killing and exactly how the person was killed really add to the depth of a game which encourages you to kill random people for no reason? Censorship is a bad thing yes and it's probably not very effective but the question is still, does seeing the killing of people add to the depth of the entire game when the game is very shallow to begin with?
-
No I wouldn't censor MoH, but that's where the effects add to the experience of the game and show, or at least attempt to, how it was to be in that event. From what I saw in that video clip, the murder scenes are merely showing how to kill the person and not adding to the depth of the game. The main question I would ask is does the gore in Manhunt add to the depth of the game? Does it make it more enjoyable to choke a person to death using a plastic bag when you see his blood splatter around the room? In my opinion it doesn't. Whereas in MoH or in Company of Heroes (the opening scene at least) where the blood and gore show what it was like to be in the scene portrayed, in that situation it adds to the depth of the game and the immersion it provides for players.
