  1. Whoever set up the Authentic 56k Modem Lag® should be proud of themselves.

Sorry I had to shoot, but that was fun! Especially more reliance on the Gauntlet/LagFist than I've ever seen...

Gods, I still hate being violated by that thing. ~shudder~

Lots of crazy fun last night, agreed. Would be cool to mix things up and maybe try some CTF next week! I'm guessing that will require the Team Arena add-on though.

  2. Where was you all? I ended up playing dota with patters, WITH PATTERS FOR GOD'S SAKE.

I was there! I even messaged you on Steam, but you ignored me (read: were "Away").  :oldman:

So I went and started rewatching Farscape in a sulk instead. Next week!

  3. Follow Wrestle's patented Formula of Multiplayer Fun!

    1. Play with at least one other person you "know" — forums, Twitter, IRL, whatever; just as long at they want to play with you.
    2. Use Skype or Mumble while you're playing for increased lol-sharing.
    3. Ignore everyone else, unless they're polite.

I used to play loads of old school CS and never got particularly great at it, so don't worry about that.

I think I'll reinstall Global Offensive and give it another try though. Would be very happy to play with other Thumbs; I know at least Patters has it and is fun to play alongside.

  4. Looking forward to seeing the video(s)!

Sorry I couldn't make it. I actually ended up working late in the end, missing the family stuff I had planned anyway.  :violin:

When I did finish, a friend had just bought Titanfall so I was showing her around that for a little bit. Was too burned out for something frantic like Q3A.

  5. 82 degree FoV is insanely low in Q3, it's even less than the default! I usually roll with 110-120.

Also, what about CPMA? Yeah it's a few more steps in the installation, but basic VQ3 feels kinda ancient. There are a lot of features you take for granted missing. Plus all the great gamemode like CA!

Well, that's very easily fixed. I get motion sickness if the view angle in shooters is too wide.   <_<

These were just example possible values, excepting that whacky maxfps thing (everyone should do that). I must confess to having not actually tried them in-game, I was just excited to get things rolling here so people would hopefully join in.  :getmecoat

  6. Yes, Wrestle! Get to 60 soon, so I don't have to play with you guys on Master as either a lvl 29 Hobo Monk who dies instantly or the lvl 60 Brilliant Wizard who slaughters everything in his path..

Well, the barbarian I created especially to play through the 2.0 update made level 60 last week. So I finally have a character in the end/proper game at last!

  7. Point taken, Amelie. I set up both a Clan and Community for the Americas. IT does look nice as a tag, good call Europans

Both are meant to be open so if I screwed that up somehow just let me know

Ah, thanks—didn't realise BattleNet's split in servers meant a split in communities and clans as well. Neither of which makes any sense to me, but there you go.

  8. Also I've made an Officially Unofficial Idle Thumbs clan now, too, because... I could.  :fart:

It should be open and accepting new players - search under vanilla "English" - so feel free to join and show the demons of hell you're a Thumb! (Or something.)

  9. There was some chatter after Grand Thumb Auto yesterday about making a regular Diablo III session every Wednesday, which seems like a great idea!

So I'm going to keep it in the Steam calendar as a reminder to others interested in playing—hopefully see some more of you on there tomorrow. :)

NB: I don't understand the apparent split in regions; can EU players not join US players, and vice-versa? We may need region-specific events in that case, to make sure everyone knows when others they can play with might be around.

  10. Just out of interest, is the Thumbs DayZ server always password-protected, or was that just for the Sean vs. Olly event?

Would be nice to find somewhere dick-free. It's stressful trying to play the game decently – i.e. cooperatively and being helpful – knowing some arse is looking to blow your brains out Just Because.

  11. I have to tell you though, it's been an incredibly loot hording fun week since this new patch dropped.

    Definitely seems that way.

I had a short-ish run early game with dibs and Gwardinen last night, using a pretty new character, and I levelled six times and even got a legendary loot drop!

I may well be on again later today if anyone else is about. I'll make sure I'm running an open party.

I still need to add all you missing Thumbs to my Battle.net friends list, too.
