  1. Zero Punctuation

I've ranted and raved about Kotaku's fall into gutter reporting elsewhere on the web, but suffice to say: I used to really rate Crecente and Kotaku about 2 years ago. Then they noticed they got more traffic for posting pictures of anime figurines having a shit. And ad dollars is all that counts when it comes to online journalism. Anyway, back on topic...
  2. videoGaiden in PSP format

Yes, thanks to the wonders of transcoding (and me), you can now take vintage Rab and Ryan - i.e. series 1 and 2 - with you where ever you go. If anyone wants the torrent link, PM me and I'll sort you out with the goods. Or you could simply search for it.
  3. videoGaiden in PSP format

Well, that's very kind of you, but I've binned the torrent now; some smarty pants went one better and somehow managed to upload all three seasons of videoGaiden (though not in PSP format). I'll be downloading and transcoding all that lot in due course I should imagine. The playback of seasons 1 & 2 on the humble PlayStation Portable was certainly agreeable, even though the audio was fractionally out of sync in places.
  4. Zero Punctuation

I'm still hoping Kotaku will drown in its own semen sometime shortly. There is simply no justice in this world.
  5. NO NO NO NO NO (neuromancer the movie)

...words simply fail me. What a beguilingly atrocious and wholly inappropriate choice of actor to play Case. If I'd read about this anywhere other than IMDb I'd have unequivocally called horse-shit on anyone who suggested such a fucking stupid idea. After my fury and upset at Indie 4 last night, this is a bonus kick in the teeth. GIVE ME THE FUCKING ROLE, FOR FUCK'S SAKE, YOU STUPID FUCKS! I GENUINELY LOVE THIS FUCKING BOOK AND YOU'RE ABOUT TO FUCK IT UP THE FUCKING FUCK! FUCKERS! A random punt on some over-opinionated random Internet forumite would unquestionably produce superior results to the frowny, shouty, primary school amateur dramatics Christensen is barely even capable of. Why is this thoroughly hate-able walking soft drink advert paradigm still even in Hollywood anyway? Wasn't Jumper a rather catastrophic financial flop and universally panned by critics? I really hope Gibson gets his freak on with this one; he's been refusing to hand over the rights to this for more than a decade now--I doubt he's now doing a backflip to discover sock-puppet Vader will be playing his best-loved character. I... I... I'm going to have an embolism and a pint of drain cleaner.
  6. videoGaiden in PSP format

Yes I would, so kindly sod off. Oh, I see an admin's already escorted you off the premises.
  7. 50 Cent: Blood On The Sand

If everything wasn't so poorly overlit, it'd immediately look better. As it is, it's a pastely mess. It also looks painfully basic, despite the reasonable animation rigging. The premiss remains utterly farcical though; yes, Mr Cent, you had a horrible start to life. But just carry on taking lots and lots of money for music and leave video games alone. It's in everyone's best interest.
  8. Movie/TV recommendations

I think he and Spielberg should share a cell, personally; Steven's barfed nothing but cinematic pap for a good decade now. The last thing I'll say on the subject is this: Indiana Jones & The Flying Fridge of FAIL. If you see it, you'll understand why that fucking bizarre retitling makes perfect sense.
  9. 50 Cent: Blood On The Sand

I'd be forced to admit that gaming does need more albino shaman-type personages.
  10. Movie/TV recommendations

Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of The Crystal Skull There's only one Thumbs smilie that really sums this film up... For almost 2 - very uncomfortable - hours, I have just watched Lucas and Spielberg kick my childhood hero to death. :\
  11. 50 Cent: Blood On The Sand

Yo yo, dat looks da shit fo' reals!
  12. GTA IV vs. San Andreas

The PSP version of Worms is the best iteration I've played since Worms 2 on PC. But the net code is atrociously slow and makes multiplayer excruciating at times. And the control system is SHIT! They've set cross as fire and square as jump, which is a total perversion of that arrangement on consoles. I got so utterly fucked off with blind firing into the object I was actually attempting the jump over. Naturally, the game lets you fart about with all sorts of insignificant, pointless settings, but doesn't let you redefine the controls. All of which adds up to yet another ruined version of the game. But it's not like the hair-brained, cynical cock-ups of, say, forcing the game into 3D or 'tweaking' perfectly balanced weapons. So infuriating - why can Team 17 simply not get this right?!
  13. Zero Punctuation

It's great and looks brilliant on even modest hardware. Been meaning to replay it for years--the weapons really are that fun. I noticed that too, but thought their player had just crapped out on me again.
  14. 50 Cent: Blood On The Sand

A Turd in the Surf more like.
  15. So, this "GTA 4" thing then...

Thanks for backing me up, Erkki; I really appreciate it. I think once the dust's settled, and the "anti-cool-cool" press gets ahold of itself (but not in the typical way *fap-fap*), I think more people will realise just how much of a leap GTA IV is for videogaming. It is not the same tree with new tinsel and baubles, and this shallow, fundamentally flawed analogy - which certain parties insist on perpetuating in the deluded idea that simply being different via a few big words makes them better - completely misses the point. Which makes me genuinely sad and angry on Rockstar's behalf. Regardless of all the stupid, juvenile and deliberately nihilistic things Rockstar might be guilty of; regardless of all the money spent making this and advertising the game; they have genuinely tried so hard, and poured so much obvious love and care into it, to make this such a fundamentally different Video game experience for everyone. I truly believe they've achieved it too--and perhaps beyond even what they hoped would be possible. "We now return to regular, grumpy, frothing Wrestlevania..."
  16. Battlestar Galactica Final Season Thread

Good crapping Christ... They're certainly not holding back for the final season are they?! I mean... FUCK!
  17. New people: Read this, say hi.

You'll fit right in then... Welcome!
  18. PSN ID exchange

*ahem* I've registered a PSN-ID (Wrestlevania, naturally) so I can see what Syphon Filter: Combat Ops is like online. It's superb in local multiplayer, so I'm interested to see how well it holds up over the 'net.
  19. Stop bumping old posts, you dick

    What, indulging in homosexual practices..?
  20. Jetpack Brontosaurus is here!

Well, in alpha anyway. It's as bizarre and wonderful as you could hope for.
  21. Movie/TV recommendations

Tried to watch Green Wing, found it excruciating. I know, I'm "dead inside." Spaced is/was the tits, though. And I watched odd episodes from the second series originally, before finally sitting down to watch the whole lot - in the right order - years later.
  22. Jetpack Brontosaurus is here!

You're probably right; I was thinking 'puzzle' because you have to e.g. fly through different rings in a specific order. The bronto doesn't even fit cleanly in the tunnel, no matter how carefully you fly. And each time you hit the bronto's head or tail on a tunnel wall your time gets bumped by 5 seconds.
  23. Jetpack Brontosaurus is here!

Definitely. This one's an adventure and puzzle game. I think it's lacking on the score side of things, but it's very Minter-esque in terms of the graphics. I like the way the exhaust from the jetpack shows everything as devastated or dead - nice 'environmental' touch.
  24. The next big thing...

    I think you mean this.
  25. Holy Peripherals, God!

    Self-deprecation ftw!
