Yeah, enjoyed that too - even though you wiped the floor with me. My biggest single frustration with the game comes down to input; you cannot play the game as intended with the standard Xbox 360 controller. It simply isn't possible. I'll be buying one the official pads in the next week or so.

Battlestar Galactica Final Season Thread
Wrestlevania replied to Marek's topic in Movies & Television
I'm going to watch it to the end, but my sense of apathy towards BSG is burgeoning. It's probably because I'm stupid. I can't follow, nor understand - or really - care about all this faceted dialogue. I can't recall what very specific event or fragment of past discussion many of the Cylon characters are referring to most of the time. It's like watching something through double-thickness glass and I'm not enjoying it anymore. I'm even fed up with Gaius' now; he seems to have been reduced to constant snot-nosed babbling for far too long. -
Two megabits?! .And hello.

I'm not certain, but I think the beta's all-but-finished now.

I'm not finding the offline game particularly straight-forward either; Medium I can't very far into, whereas the two times I've tried Easy I've blitzed it in minutes. Balance is slightly off there, methinks -- and what happened to the "9 stars" approach to difficulty..?

*bump* After being quiet for a long time, it looks like the delightful Fez may be announced on Xbox LIVE Arcade very soon..!

I am home.

The very definition of "awesome".

To celebrate this Tuesday's release of The Lost and Damned on Xbox Live, you are cordially invited to use your newfound motorcycling abilities to club fellow forumites over the head at high speed. I've already got mine, how about you? Actually, if turns out to be too much of an arse-ache to get this co-ordinated, we'll just play regular GTA IV multiplayer.

Grand Thumb Auto XII: Those Damned Thumbs
Wrestlevania replied to Wrestlevania's topic in Multiplayer Networking
Oh excellent -- very much looking forward to the promise of recreating Road Rash in HD. Had a very quick 10-minute play this morning and it certainly looks good so far. Can't tell you anything about the supposedly modified bike handling and such, but the cut scenes were great! -
Yowser, that's dedication to gaming (and your friends) and I, for one, salute you. Definitely up for some Xbox Live fisticuffs, too.
-
Yup - that one's Lost, and that one's Damned. Reminds me of Consolevania's .

Idle Thumbs 19: Upping the Majesty
Wrestlevania replied to Chris's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
Downloaded to me phone, ready for the drive home from work tonight. -
Oh, without question. I'm planning to start a "Mortal Thumbat" thread in Multiplayer Networking very soon, but go ahead if you want to get started now. I need to loosen up for a few days first (once it arrives).

We missed you too. -
I was initially excited about HD Remix, but the more I saw of and heard about it the less enthralled I was; it just didn't quite sit right with me. I'd rather preserve the many years of fond memories I have playing Special Championship Edition on the MegaDrive instead. SiN's your bod for HD Remix impressions. I've also been playing 3rd Strike and the Zero prequels on and off over the last few years - plus a dearth of SNK and Marvel/Capcom fighters - which has been more than enough to tide me over until a proper Street Fighter sequel came out. I was fearful that there'd never actually be a fourth installment -- so pleased Capcom were bold and decided to release it. I think it's going to be massive, even amongst new/younger gamers.

Right you lot, I need a recommendation for a game.

Ah, demo! Didn't even think to look for one -- hope it's still available. -

Haven't played an EA NHL game since NHL '91 on the MegaDrive, which was a classic. Sounds like '09 is really good, too. -
By the way: anyone who fancies a good laugh/mope should read Backbone's horrendous Street Fighter IV: Flachback game proposal: Utterly, utterly clueless, cretinous hacks. However, consider the looks on the faces of Capcom's finest when Backbone presented this, and you can rest a little easier I'm sure.

I think your most alarming quote came at the start of the evening: You were, of course, refering to one of the new mini-games in The Lost and Damned. And not some macabre raffle as I first feared. -

Mmm, the buzz [arf] around Flower certainly has me interested. I lack the prerequisite hardware, however. If you do plump for SFIV and go for the 360 version, there's been talk of putting together a regular Thumbs night for that too. Probably something like Mortal Thumbat would get my vote. But anyway, I digress. -

Depends on what sort of experience you crave at the minute, Scrobbs. I'd say go for something really different to the norm and get Street Fighter IV. It's out in just a couple of days now anyway. It's a shame you're not planning to renew you Xbox LIVE Gold account, otherwise I'd have suggested picking up The Lost and Damned this week (i.e. today!) too and joined us on Grand Thumb Auto every Tuesday (tonight!). You'd have had change from £50 and got two highly anticipated titles as well. Let us know what you decide upon in the end. It's always interesting to see what people go for after asking for random suggestions from the gallery. -
Anything's possible -- just depends on who eventually gets ahold of the film rights. Wasn't there supposed to be something Half-Life-related already in the pre-production phase anyway? Is Escape it?
