    Yeah, that's better.

  3. Holy Shit! Awesome E3 News!!

That's my sincere hope for APB, too. The idea of making a gang and then fighting and working within a persistent city for territory and livelihood is incredibly exciting to me. As you say, n0wak, I just hope Realtime Worlds can pull it off. For myself, I've little cause to doubt they can't achieve this. It appears they've scoped the MMO aspect to be not much more than a score and territory game amongst a (relatively) limited number of players in any one instance. This makes it seem much more likely to succeed to me.

Ah, found some APB video footage!
  5. Holy Shit! Awesome E3 News!!

Yes, it was fucking good. Sadly, however, the sequel's not going to be developed by Realtime Worlds. Microsoft dicked about for ages deciding whether or not to commission a sequel, so Dave Jones and co. moved ahead with putting APB into full-time production. Speaking of which, has there been any APB news yet..? I'm really excited about that. I'm also very excited that Microsoft are bringing Twitter and Last.fm to Xbox LIVE, though I couldn't care less about Facebook integration myself. Still, I like the idea of complimenting your Xbox LIVE account with your key social network identities... there's some serious potential there I think. Intriguing!

Judging from his slithering, disconnected visage, I should imagine his mouth would open like this:
  7. Dantes Inferno trailer

Agreed - he looks like a fairly average piece of 80s computer game box art, and not in a cool way either.

I'm going to assume you're talking about Coraline, but that's reminded me of something I found rather alarming/depressing in Wolverine: the digital matting and 3D scene compositing was often stunningly poor. Like, "back to the late-90s" bad. And what the fuck was up with at the end?!

Could you make it so the Chris Moyles' sackboy spontaneously bursts into flames too, please? Please?!
  10. Dantes Inferno trailer

It's nice to see they've acknowledged how much of an uphill battle they've set for themselves with this endeavour. I don't think any amount of smoke effect-filled CGI tosh is going to change many minds, though.

We watched X-Men Origins: Wolverine on Saturday night; it was pleasantly not-shit. Another name for it would be Marvel Kombat, FIGHT!!
  12. Glastonbury

Do you mean Long Range? I liked it the first few times I listened to it, but haven't felt the need to go back and I very rarely find myself humming one of the tracks. Hence "passable", but that's just my opinion.
  13. Glastonbury

Every year I mean to go to the following one, as I live only a few miles away (as the crow flies) and can see the Tor from the hill behind my house. But I still haven't as yet. This is partly down to bad planning, partly due to having a young family, but mostly due to the fact that there aren't many acts I really want to see as a rule. 10 years ago, I would've chewed my own arm off to see Prodigy. Nowadays, I imagine people will polite nod along whilst they traipse through their newer stuff, knowingly delaying the inevitable furore that'll erupt when they finally give in and start dropping stuff like Out of Space. And that just doesn't get me fired up. Similarly, I can't imagine Orbital's grand return to festivals this year as being anything particularly noteworthy. Their later stuff was shit, and the brothers' independent stuff since has been merely passable. I digress, as Orbital won't be at Glastonbury, but I'm trying to illustrate where I'm coming from; there's relatively little I could justify paying for the whole weekend to see. And there's no point going if you don't do the whole thing either in my opinion. Still, if any of you do venture into deepest Somerset in a few weeks, you're welcome to stop in for tea at Chez Vania.

  16. World of Goo

2D Boy have tightened up their internal game prototyping framework and released it to the mother-fucking public. "Go make some games, you bunch of thieving bastards!" the developer's didn't say.

  18. Gah, I knew they had something like that but was too busy this morning to look. Sorry. I notice Outcast is creeping in at the bottom of the Most Popular list at the moment, so I voted for that. I also searched for The Last Express and added a vote there, too!
  19. It was a bit "blippy" in places, and Nick's level seemed to be a bit higher than everyone else. ...but it's a podcast. And it's free. And it's fucking great. I'm extremely grateful for all these things and don't mind/care about the trivialities as long as a) I can hear everyone (which is never an issue), and you're not wiping your collective ass with my ears. I especially liked Jake's blippy music and fucking about on the DSi. Does that come as standard, whatever it was you were using to distort your voice, Mr Rodkin?

  21. Have you emailed them and asked if they might be getting it? Pretty sure that they've said in the past they like hearing from potential customers about old games and then look into sourcing them.

  23. I can confirm you did not wipe your collective ass with my ears this instalment (unlike last week). However, seeing as Chris' microwave has now broken, I'm concerned as to how you're going to effectively reheat your cooled E3 scoops in a fortnight..?
