I know exactly what you mean... The first time I saw my older cousins since being a little kid was in my late teens and, naturally, being a teen geek you're paranoid about what people will think of you. What was weird was not only did we just generally get on really well, we were (for example) actually listening to a lot of the same music and even liked the same tracks! That really blew my mind.

Stick to well-lit, well-surfaced and well-trafficked main roads. My motorcycling career met its end on an unlit, single-track back road, which was a shortcut cross-country that only saved me a couple of minutes compared to using the main roads. In short: don't be an impatient foon.

I "parked" it in a ditch behind a farm, with the aid of pitch black lighting conditions, a light drizzle, and a thin layer of cow shit all over the road at a sharp right-hander. Seeing as I've a wife and three kids, I decided that it probably wasn't the most sensible vehicle for my daily commute after that. So I sold it.

It was visceral though. To me, playing on Expert the game felt completely different--almost like this was how it was always intended to be played. The idea of you being trapped in an apocalypse felt much more real for it, especially when we slid back to Advanced and the world was almost barren by comparison. I'd very much like to try Expert again, if anyone else would be up for it on Sunday? That's assuming we either split into two groups again, or somehow only end up with 4 players in total.

I may well be offline for most of next week, as Verohari's coming stay for a few days while she's between flats.

Well last night went completely to shit on my account. Mother-in-law was using our phone in the games room for over an hour last night, which meant I couldn't get to my Xbox until after 10pm. So apologies if I dicked anyone around. I know n0wak was waiting to play at least. I would suggest we try again tonight, but my son, T, spent most of last night and the early hours of this morning repeatedly being sick. So I've had approximately 2 hours' sleep and feel like shit already (and it's not even 9am yet).

Saw messages last night concerning quite a few accounts being locked temporarily. Glad it's all sorted now though.

Really enjoyed it in the theatre for its cinematic spectacle, but came away not really caring about the characters or story.
