Fantastic news, Scrobbs. Nice one! My little update for this week: in short, my debit card got cloned at some point recently and I was suddenly down £200 ($330 USD) I wasn't expecting on Monday morning. Thought we'd been stupid and miscalculated this month, so got a small overdraft extension and tried not to worry about it. Checked the balance on Tuesday morning and a further ~£100 had suddenly vanished! Then I knew something weird was going on, because everything we were expecting to go out had appeared on our statement the same morning. Mrs V swung into action, phoned the bank - also her employer of many years - and we discovered someone had made payments to a very dodgy debt collection agency using my card details. Morons; if they're paying back bad debt, they'll have a debtor's record with the agency and it'll be easy to find out who they are... assuming those dodgy bastards are compliant with the fraud team at our bank. Anyway, long story short: I phoned my bank to get my card cancelled and they're refunding the stolen money--though it could take up to 5 working days and we're basically broke until then. So bread and water for a few days, methinks...

You would be most welcome; we're not elitist or derogatory (except towards James, but you've probably worked out already that he deserves it). We just enjoy having a laugh. Pile on! -

Excuse me while I craftily interject with yet another plug for our regular weekly Grand Thumb Auto session, tonight from 9pm BST. Ice-cream trucks, a working runway and live grenades... you know it makes sense. -
Sounds promising. I watched the TV episodes back-to-back and really enjoyed it; great modern zombie flick and definitely something I'd recommend if you like horror or British cinema.

That's nice for you. -
It sounds like the DVD drive's getting ready to cark it, which should result in a three red lights (RRoD) error. Both times my machine died were exclusively because of the DVD drive, and there's a limitless warranty on all instances of three red lights. Wouldn't start panicking just yet.

The only reason I can see for him "magnanimously" stepping down is in the vain hope even more people don't suddenly know his name. Quitting won't help, stopping being a beguiling prick will. These are Wrestle's words of wisdom.

It's churlish and stupid, I know. But still: Goodbye, you thieving, money-grubbing, self-deluding gasbag.

Yay--hello, you!

Wow, finally. I wasn't sure they'd bother, but that's encouraging to hear. Tried it early on, got raped in half and shoved in a mailbox pretty much every match due to poor matchmaking. So, unless they've tweaked the tiering a good chunk, I'm loathed to go back for more.

Possibly the best Thumbs introduction ever. Welcome!

Never gotten into film noir, though I do like the style of it. Downloading that now on me phone--cheers, Dan.

Thank you! Sorry to hear things didn't work out, Peel. Sounds like you've had a pretty rough couple of months or so... You should come run over more of your fellow Thumbs in an ice-cream truck! That always cheers me up.

It's been crazy here this week... My brother got married on Tuesday, so now I have a sister-in-law! But no sooner said than I was helping them move 200 miles away on Thursday night. But we also picked up another new member of the family yesterday, and he's going be living with us: Tobey is an 11 month-old long-haired Daschund, adopted from a local rescue centre. I don't quite know where he was rescued from, though; his behaviour is impeccable! He's superb with the kids and it's great to finally have a pet again that's more substantial than a flippin' goldfish...

Yes! A brilliantly bad film and a personal favourite for years.

Tis true; our thumbses are brokend...

I bought Kung Fu Panda on 360 to play with the kids. Not normally something I'd buy, but - to it's credit - it's actually a pretty bloody good roaming beat 'em up. Seriously, the mechanics work really well.

I bunked off college for a fortnight with a friend once, so we could rent and watch every shit horror film series we could think of. I think Phantasm came out on top, mainly for it's supreme quotability. We also watched every zombie film Blockbuster had in stock... halcyon days.

The venerable James Zabiela has released another free promo mix for we seething masses. His last such giveaway was astounding, so I've high hopes for this one too. -
