I got to see my shiny new baby boy for the first time yesterday afternoon, bouncing around inside Mrs. W's tummy all small and baby-like. Scans are ace! IT'S A BOY!!!

Hmph. Partial dimensional collapse then. He can't simply admit to watching a "good" movie, because he'd be acknowledging some kind of measure for how good or bad - or, in his case, spectacularly shit - a film is. What's this quote anyway? Citation isn't illegal you know...
-
Quite. It's not like she flashed her tits for a PS2 or anything...

You've used the words "Uwe Boll" and "decent" in the same sentence; prepare for the universe to fold in upon itself.

I want to kill myself. Alternatively, setting the entirety of the Daily Mail on fire would suffice - starting with their pubes.

Too late. And I'll be damned if that's not one fine-looking controller. I bet the game's hard as nails too.

Being blunt, it looks fucking terrible. But it's had a very positive review over on the superb PIXELSURGEON, so you'll probably have a great time. Do share your thoughts, won't you?

And still an extremely good hick, all told.

I watched Hellboy last week and was really disappointed with the results. It looked great but the story was dull and effortlessly predictable. Perlman was good though. Also, I finally watched the 2003 remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre last night and I really couldn't see the point in all honesty. Except for the belated teen slasher flick cash-in angle. Didn't think the change of approach to the family served much purpose either, although the extended scenes with the sheriff were an interesting idea. The editing was odd though; some key scenes were extremely brief, whilst peripheral ones began to drag with pretty regular frequency. I did like the whole baby-stealing addition to the screen play though -- that was really nasty. The Blair Witch ending rip-off was shit though, true to life or not. I suppose if they'd gone crazy in the editing room the film would've been about 70mins tops. Which might not have been such a bad thing really... I'd heard rumours before the film came out that they'd be filming the remake with a bias towards Leatherface's point of view. But that didn't seem the case, as it looks like they've reserved that for a possibly ill-advised prequel (which is released here in the UK in early October). Children of Men is being advertised to death in the evenings here in the UK at the moment, which is prompting me to see it ASAP - hopefully this week. I've also found a copy of Tremors 4 which I'm really looking forward to seeing too.

Sony: Nintendo to lose core audiance

I am Nostrodamus, officially. /holds out arms in grand prognosticator fashion -
The original Tremors is a brilliant piece of B-movie gold, admittedly. I watched the second one and was quite disappointed. I'll have to look for #4 though - sounds promising. Did the much-rumoured TV series ever emerge though? (Pun intended.)

Hollywoodland wasn't on my radar until this thread, so thanks. Anyone seen either Little Miss Sunshine or Half Nelson yet?

Cuz cables ain't cool, kids.

Thank the Maker!

Eh? Surely you don't mean that abysmal Connery/Zeta-Jones flick from 1999...
-
Not true. The original Xbox mod chip setups allow you to enable or disable them as you wish. So you can still play online when you want, and load up "imports" at other times.

I wonder if Michael Ancel and the Ubisoft marketing boys are paying attention... regarding a certain Beyond Good & Evil.
-
Several hundred-thousand System Shock fans might quibble that one...
-
Right, sorry. Yes it's very salesy, but I like the way they've made a good stab at trying to draw in as wide a selection of people as they can.

Unbreakable (2000) One of the best modern comic book movies IMO.

It's a sentient technology. If the disc is region-specific, it'll ask the Wii which region it is before loading the game. If it's region-free, it'll simply load. I'm tempted to say that 1st party titles - e.g. Twilight Princess and WarioWare: Smooth Moves - won't be region-locked. The regions thing is just to protect licensees who need to pay independent fees to launch a licensed title per region--this'll likely be the cross-platform stuff, like Splinter Cell - Double Agent perhaps, or multi format movie tie-ins. On a related note: GAME has published some excellent information about Wii.
-
Yes, it's been confirmed as an option. This is to prevent traditional publishers fleeing from the Wii, screaming like lunatics. I was debating this with a colleague and we came to the same conclusion; 3rd party games are most likely to use it, because of the licensing costs of launching a rights-based property into different parts of the world. And that "IP" needs protecting from all you thieving importers, damnit!

I'm going to wait, but not for the reasons you posted; Minivania III is expected not long after...
