Was that the one where Snake was crawling around the floor during a street battle, with his sneak suit changing cammo to match whatever surface he was crawling over? If so: yes, that looked good.
-
That does it; I'm going to have to go on the hunt for Outcast now. Any know if it'll run on Windows XP?
-
...but with less sand, Persians and princes, presumably. Most odd. Can't say there's anything compelling here so far. I did find Outcast fascinating, though, and played it for ages at ECTS when it debuted there. Never did have a computer powerful enough to run it at the time, and couldn't ever find it on budget once I did. Frankly, I think more people would be excited if 10tacle had announced a new Outcast game...
-
Oh, the horror! Mercifully 'not' though.
-
That looks hugely uncomfortable. Also note the glare potential for those screens. Double fail! (Note that I'm staunchly refusing to exploit the potential of PooStation gags--oh fuckit!) In other news... Did You Know..? that I've just blindly stumbled into a remix of Toto's Africa and it's scaring me shitless. Because it's actually quite good. And because I've now realised just how much I love the original, in a deep-rooted, 80s childhood-affirming sort of way. Which leads me too... Did You Know..? just how fucking terrifying 80s British TV adverts were?

OK, so this should be our new Quote of the Moment: Alternatively: After reading all that, I genuinely wonder what TS will make of BioShock.
-
It's a pretty good blog, too.
-
There are a couple of tiny details in there, involving interaction with certain entities, which you may not want to read. But here's a safe extract: That's basically the crux of the article, so no real need to visit Game|Life if you don't want to risk spoilers.
-
Haven't read anything else in this thread (yet), but wanted to throw in Chris Kohler's analogy of how BioShock purposefully exploits The Uncanny Valley as part of the gaming experience.
-
What?! Never! *sob* Fucking fuck those fuckers at fucking Blockfuckster! I explicitly asked for BioShock - Collector's Edition, but it turns out all they're selling is the Limited Edition (i.e. the one in a tin) plus the regular version. Minge bags! I guess it was all a bit too much to hope for though, considering: I'm trading in my copy of Forza 2 in order to scalp the price down to £9.99. So I'm not really surprised they won't be offering the Collector's Edition as part of the deal. I'm still sure I'd read last week that only the US and Oz were getting the 360 Collector's Edition though... Oh and with regards to importing: BioShock is being released on both formats region free. This I know for sure as it's come straight from one Irrational's staff. Exactly the same boat as me. Pick my copy up on Friday, but going on holiday this Sunday.
-
Ah, yes. Upon closer inspection it appears I'm getting the Limited Edition (i.e. tin case + book) version for 360. I'm not surprised that we won't be getting the - frankly gorgeous - Collector's Edition here in the UK... Cry me a Rapture. :\
-
Lazy, ungrateful bastards. On a positive note: a friend-of-a-friend insisted they pay me for fixing their PC this weekend, so I slapped down a deposit on the Collector's Edition this afternoon. I. Cannot. Wait!
-
Seriously, keep an eye on BioShock's Metacritic score too--it's quite incredible (so far).
-
...just don't forget who made that claim in the first place.
-
Hmm, well, might just have to give you that one... Damned close call though.
-
To spare you the anguish, here's the best bit from the WIRED News interview:
-
Seems like Double Fine can't even make the announcement at Leipzig any more either.
-
Ah well--probably for the best. Also, going by other snippets of info throughout the interview, I'd say browser-based matchmaking is pretty much a forgone conclusion at this point. Which is an excellent mechanic (if true).

"Can't turn 'em? Burn 'em!"

"beta" is in the details. But yes; it is a bit arse so far. As for "things to do," the events scheduling is ace. If a group you're a member of posts an event, everyone in that group gets it added to their schedule and - critically - with the event time(s) adjusted to each member's individual time zone! Simple but great, and for this I gladly give Valve The Clap! Here it is:
-
So you are, and so I take another screenshot in celebration of the fact: lolzzz PS: We gots no Oath on dem Steams, innit.
-
One more reason to despise this hateful shitfest; quintessentially embarrassing, appalling and stupid all at once. It's got to be parody.
-
Right, as reported elsewhere, the whole Community is more than a little buggy right (beta my arse!). If you try to join any community, and the Steam application gives you weird errors, here's what you need to do: Note that none of this is documented anywhere I could see in the Community website; this is just from me scrabbling around in the dark.

ME AND MOLYNEUX: OUR RELATIONSHIP IMMORTALISED IN THE LATEST DEVELOP MAG
Wrestlevania replied to Salka's topic in Idle Banter
But... in Yufster's avatar, she would appear to be growing out of his shoulder?! Whatever; must have made writing those vitriolic forum posts quite challenging. -
jizcrisps! (You flush bastard.)
