  1. Seems like all of the games I was looking forward to this spring have been delayed to the fall, except for Super Paper Mario and a random shareware abstract puzzle game. Luckily, I don't have much time this Spring for video games. Still excited for Bioshock, Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed, Zelda DS, and whatever first party Wii games are still coming out this year.
  2. DS Games

There *is* a turbo for dialogue you heard already. Just keep the stylus held against the next dialogue button, and the play turns into a fast forward.
  3. Dreamfall Episodes

http://ragnartornquist.com/?p=291 Whoa. Dreamfall is going episodic. Hopefully there'll be some more compelling gameplay this time around, but I must say that I'm still looking forward to enjoying whatever stories Ragnar wants to tell.
  4. Damn you EB Games, damn you Microsoft

Speaking of online stores, can't you just buy an xbox live subscription through the marketplace?
  5. So what's Crackdown like?

There's a demo on the XBL marketplace already, if you haven't tried it. The demo was fun for the time limit, but too soulless once the novelty of being able to throw cars and jump great heights wore off. There didn't really seem that much to keep me interested for an entire game, story or action. Funnily enough, Eurogamer gave it a 9/10, but also said that it can be easily beaten in a weekend, very odd for a genre normally associated with exploration.
  6. Wii number exchange

Our humble abode shows up sixth on google when searching for "wii number." I guess that explains a lot.
  7. BenchGuys.Net...

Actually following the link given by whois to GoDaddy's whois page yields this info: DomainsByProxy? Sounds sinister, like a company set up solely to mirror other sites through proxy, making a few evil changes for their own profit? They set up the site last February, apparently, and claim to run out of Arizona.
  8. So a stock PS3 is cheaper than an xbox 360 with many options that the consumer may not want or need? Blue Ray or HD-DVD - Not necessary, especially for the significant portion of the market that don't have hd-capable televisions. Wireless networking - Existing wireless network adaptors (or at least the one I had) work fine with the 360. You can easily find a cheaper 3rd party adapter, use one of your own, or just plug in ethernet (which the Wii oddly doesn't support out of the box). Xbox Live - The only main difference between the free and paid services is the ability to play online games (and also download some demos earlier, but that's not really important). The downloading, communication, and "achievement" system comes with the free version.
  9. Oh for crying out loud!!

Until *our* children start playing holographic, viceral games that hook directly into their brains. Those will be wrong and unnatural.
  10. Happy Birthday Marek

Mine is prettier. (Although completely unoriginal, and copied in the haze of the night.) http://duhduhduhduh.phantomhourglass.org/main.php?id=47373 Happy time vaguely around the anniversary of your birth.
  11. IGN has terrible editorial quality in my experience reading it. Grammar and spelling mistakes abound in their uninformative reviews. Also, did you see that the best controller was a NERF PS2 pad, not the wiimote? And the Zune got the best audio player?!
  12. Guitar Hero III? More like Tony Hawk's Pro Guitarist. http://biz.gamedaily.com/industry/feature/?id=14971
  13. Coffee

I like the taste of coffee, but drink it infrequently. Thankfully, I do not yet have high tolerance to caffeine, so it's been there for me when I absolutely need it.
  14. Sixaxis controller wins emmy... what?

Sony infringed on Immersion's patent on rumble effects in its DualShock controller: http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=4325
  15. Annoying gaming news site headlines

Doom to Explode onto Tabletops Everywhere
  16. How did you find Idle Forums?

I was a big fan of the Lucasarts adventure games in the early 90s, and eventually stumbled upon Mixnmojo. Followed a link here from Mojo, lurked for a very long time, and finally joined last year. I'm not a fan of huge, impersonal communities with constant, bustling activity. It's cozy here.
  17. Wii number exchange

I would also very much enjoy Sasha and Phoenix miis. I made Fone Bone and Thorn, too, if anyone wants them.
  18. I am posting this from my wii!

Orisinal on the Wii is amazing, at least the ones that don't use arrow keys + spacebar.
  19. Wii number exchange

Because that number has a direct correlation to your worth as a person.
  20. Wii number exchange

2462 8989 7981 9465 I'm in an area with better wireless for the holidays. I guess I'll just get the shouldn't-be-optional LAN adapter when it comes out. My miis range from mediocre to weird, although I am proud of XD Smiley Face man.
  21. Wii number exchange

I'd have a number if Nintendo actually put an ethernet jack on the Wii. Not everyone has wireless internet.
  22. Wii number exchange

I'm in more agony because I have it, but cannot open it. Final exams are next week, and I know that if I take it out of the box, I will fail. The second they're over, however...
  23. The demo level was an adventure game (left-click to move, right-click to interact or "pray"). The camera angles got annoying with the point-and-click gameplay. Also annoying was the fact that the only puzzles in the demo appeared to be switch puzzles. However, activating said switches requires you to pray on circles on the ground, waiting for him to finish a 5-10 second chant. The graphics were stylized, but the cutscenes were of pretty low quality (and had a lot of trouble changing pixels on my laptop). I found a random review by some site called Internode: http://games.internode.on.net/content.php?mode=reviews&id=61 They seemed to like the atmosphere, and say that the later levels get more complicated. They dislike the clunky gameplay, however. You can also die in the game, and you can't save except between levels.
  24. There is a 140 mb demo on the site, under media. From what a gathered, the game is supposed to be about confusing the player? Might be interesting.
