  1. Telltale Jurassic Park

Not sure if I've said this here before or just on Twitter, but that was a thing.
  2. Need to buy a laptop. Advice plx! Tnx.

I don't know if it's still the case, but a few years back an ASUS would generally be a higher spec than similarly priced machines. The sacrifice was build quality though; my friend Max went through a few of them and they both eventually fell to bits. Whatever you buy Yufster, make sure to slag off everyone who has the other one. Definitely a worthwhile use of time.
  3. Obligatory comical YouTube thread

I tried to get in touch with them a few years ago, but the only email addresses I could trace it to bounced. Glad to see they still appear to be making stuff.
  4. The threat of Big Dog

Now they're going for our food. Not long until this is combined with face tracking and they can drown us in ketchup where we stand. _C3D0rcFXrY
  5. Weirdness in games... isn't it normal?

I remember thinking that Moonwalker on the Megadrive was pretty damn weird at the time.
  6. Life

Glad it helped. It's always fun playing board games with you, and having people come to visit Gambling Lambs makes it feel less cliquey Good luck and/or a favourable set of deterministic factors with the exams.
  7. A photo of Nick Breckon

I used to have a manager that did that. I have no idea why he thought telling any of the staff about it was a good idea, but until that moment, we didn't twig that he was freaking us out because of his perfectly hairless arms
  8. Idle Thumbs wins an award

    Well done
  9. Any chance of getting a downloadable backup before reset?
  10. Life

SNIFFIN' GLUE 4 JESUS. I have had a very chilled out Christmas with my brother, where we talked about everything from small businesses to off road biking. On Wednesday, I'll be having about 20 friends over and feeding them.
  11. Do you think we'll get enough iron for tracks without the duping exploit? I'm in favor of a fresh start or a spawn move. I'd like to try SMP like that.
  12. General Video Game Deals Thread

Here is everything in the Steam sale, by Lewie Proctor: http://savygamer.co.uk/2010/12/20/steam-sale-everything-in-on-place/ Updated with the 24h deals too. Merry Bankruptcymas!
  13. Movie/TV recommendations

Yeah, +1. I liked it a lot. There were something wrong with it, but it was silly and fun.
  14. Video Games, and why I might be done with them

Sorry to hear this Snoogle. It's probably worth it to keep investigating your condition and issues around medication, sleep, etc.
  15. Happy Birthday!

    Happy Birthday Miffy and Patters!
  16. Steam Trezer Hunt

You could always leave them playing while you do something else. Well, phew. Because that would be bad for both people and game design
  17. Jonathan Frakes Is The Devil (The funniest QL)

Yes, used to use that with Windows. Very nice little bit of software.
  18. Awesome Medical Breakthroughs Thread

Indeed! This is also excellent, and I'm looking forward to hearing more about it.
  19. Jonathan Frakes Is The Devil (The funniest QL)

Maybe now. At the time, it wasn't. Possibly something to do with Ubuntu being difficult and VLC being shit on OS X at the time, but I don't remember exactly. I spent a while trying to get it to play on various OSes and DVD players, then just ripped.
  20. I vote yes to prop mobs I'd like to try proper SMP.
  21. Jonathan Frakes Is The Devil (The funniest QL)

There are some differences between the two. Personally I prefer the animation, but maybe that's because I saw that before reading the comic.
  22. Jonathan Frakes Is The Devil (The funniest QL)

There are copies on ebay, but the prices are way up. It's just been reissued as part of a larger book with other Mignola stuff, and it looks like you can get that for about the price the original comic is fetching. It galls me a little that there's no more Screw on Head in that, as apparently the next few stories were roughed out at the time of the pilot. I heartily recommend the DVD. You might have to rip and reburn if you don't have anything that plays region 1 discs, and the framerate is cruddy as it's a pilot, but it's so stylised it doesn't really matter. The voice talent they assembled for it is phenomenal. David Hyde Pierce as Emperor Zombie!
  23. Movie/TV recommendations

A local cinema showed Until the Light Takes Us; I liked. What got me the most was the guy who did
  24. Obligatory comical YouTube thread

Yeah Bikes are often worth rescuing, even shit ones can be made into tidy single speed commuters.
