The one in black is like Basil Fawlty in leathers I especially like his tantrum at the end.

Maybe it's the music, but I want to see a temple wall lined with them, mindlessly chewing.

Also this via Twitter, which at first sounds like one of those stupid dodgy "science" stories that newspapers tend to run on "Person discovers equation for [discovering alien life/being happy/optimum ratio of peanut butter to jelly]", but is actually wonderful: http://www.walkingrandomly.com/?p=19

Vanquish, it is a bit like every bit of amazing in the world ever, vol 2

Do you mean the disc launcher? Yeah, the only thing I found that useful for was dealing with multiple near the end, and even then only because I had nothing better to hand such as a lock on. While they were frustrating at first, I did come to enjoy the fights against At quite a few points in the game, I found I'd fail catastrophically and repeatedly until I tried a different weapon and method. -

Ooof. Finally got back to this and completed it. Like you Miffy, I relied on heavy machine gun and assault rifle, plus sniper. By the end of the game, I was finding the LFE very useful for knocking down bigger enemies then wailing on them with melee or the machine gun. Likewise, the lock on laser was really useful sometimes, I just wish there were easier ways to level more weapons up. I only managed the final fight by levelling up the rocket launcher every time I died, then using it to take out the red guy first. It took me 13 attempts, that's quite the difficulty spike. With regard to the WTF moment you spoiler tagged above, indeed. That wider part of the plot and its delivery are just a tiny bit better than the hammy melodrama of Crackdown, but only a little. -
That's incredible, Hermie. Really happy to see this going on when two prominent UK broadcasters who were doing progressive stuff (BBC and Channel 4) have both cut their funding for more interesting projects and retrenched in more traditional TV production. I love how unabashed they are about it all. The section headers are all kind of proud but self aware too.

My former boss met him once at GDC, before any of the furore with Mobigames that propelled him into wider view. Apparently, he got all cocky and a bit offended: "Oh, you haven't heard of me?". Twat.

Those are the first videos in ages that I've watched all the way through without getting distracted :0 Think I'm going to need this. Especially as the hackspace has a Kinect and and projector.

More like... INDIE WIPEOUT This looks excellent. It appears to be what the Sonic 2 bonus stages would have been with better tech. It will be the sole reason I finally get the windows partition set up on my laptop.

I really like this in a bunch of videos I've seen from Australian news. All of the regional news presenters in my part of the UK try to be personable, yet sanitised, and as a result come over as dull, trite, and patronising. The national ones all do stuffy, stiff upper lip reporting, which is ok I suppose. When they try to have a joke though, the only way they could be more like Famous Five characters is if they actually said "Gosh, what a lark!".

Hopefully viewable outside the UK. My favourite thing from this week. Australian TV host attempts to tell Dalai Lama Dalai Lama joke: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-pacific-13782645

I'm sorry Sno. I read too fast and misread made for take: I think we're in agreement. That level is like a racist elderly relative; it doesn't really understand what it's saying and how the world has changed.

No loss of perspective. That passed through Gearbox, and it's fucking rank. Fuck being an apologisist for that titillating, tasteless bullshit.

So basically, 3DR were a monied mod team? Very much this. It's an absurd thing to do with modern games tech and current video games culture.

The they put out this year managed to make me laugh in it's over the top ridiculousness, but I'm quite relieved at what's happening to DNF right now.I always have a big problem with people excusing misogyny as "just a bit of fun", and Duke has caused people to do that over and over again for years. Basically: Fuck off, that bit of video game culture It feels like a giant boil has been lanced. I feel bad for Gearbox as they're a lot better than this game, but I hope he can be laid to rest now.

Actually kind of worried that's it's moving away from being an interesting system to poke at like Populous, and instead is going for CINEMATIC DRAMA. Your followers being kind of faceless and without backstory seemed to be a major part of the point of Populous to me.

That all sounds way more good than bad, Wrestle. I left my last job in March because the working environment had become intensely unsatisfactory. Set up my own company to do freelance gigs and other stuff through, and really haven't looked back since.

From twitter: Bad game or not, it feels weird and momentous to see that update image from Steam.

I don't know, Thunder. Do genocidal maniacs sleep well at night? Maybe the more people you kill, the less a conscience interferes with sleep. Go for it Though, I understand the cost of skydiving drops rapidly as you become better trained (and make friends at airfields). It's on my to do list...
