Lovely! Very clean. The only issues I've noticed is Subbes not being able to post stuff from mlkshk. Also, angry tomato would be the perfect way to emote about the death of angry tomato.

Ah, missed that post since I'm not a player myself. A friend showed me that video though, and it's wonderful. "I think he said… leave" They also did another Mount and Blade one with a lot of axes to the face, and people claiming to be NPCs.

This is a complete delight in its idiocy Took me a while to work out what was actually happening in the one with the graves.

This looks wonderful, I am glad it exists. (To edit, you have to click the edit post button twice).

I seem to have four copies of Super Monday Night Combat to give away on Steam. Edit: Though it says free to play in the description anyway, and I'm fucked if I can get the OS X client to consistently let me into my inventory.

The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)
Nachimir replied to Wrestlevania's topic in Idle Banter
Thank you Wrestle, listened to it a few times and found some new tracks I love Also, re-reading your post I just opened the page again, determined not to laugh at the first track name. Totally failed -
Ah, it's the first Thursday of every month, we'll always have a spare room or bed for you. Also, you should come over and play Cyclades sometime, which is too long and strategic to be a Gambling Lambs game, but great for an evening in with friends. I sometimes play with a programmer who is an excellent strategist, but not so sneaky, so people usually unite against him. This has led to several games that last about four hours instead of one, with ridiculous incomes for everyone. The last one finished with a kraken move consisting of about 15 spaces and 18 eaten ships (It usually does 2 or 3, tops). At the weekend, I fulfilled a yearly boardgame dream with some friends by running the library at GameCamp. Here's a list of what we had for the day: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aqa3PNbPcH9xdExqdDdSb3I2TGhyZXJfUTM1RG5OaGc#gid=0 Carrying two big bags of that back from London today was a killer though. Also, the designer of Hive turned up, and he's a lovely man. After talking to us for a bit, he donated one copy to GameCamp and one to Gambling Lambs.

I sometimes find it useful to have a second screen if I'm working on something and need to be available for interruption. Something about things like IM, browser and email being on one screen, and my main workspace on the other makes it easier for me to not get distracted. (Usually though, if I'm drafting or something, I prefer to be able to switch everything else off). It's also insanely useful when learning new software: PDF manual or webpage on one screen, and software on the other cuts out so much time you'd otherwise spend dicking around with your OS. I don't use the second monitor as much as I'd like, partly because I have no permanent workspace at home, but it was pretty cheap for what it is. Around £100 - £150 for a 21 to 23 inch, 1080p monitor when I bought it about a year ago.

Sorry I missed that. I had crushing anxiety just before my 25th birthday, but woke up that morning, felt fine, and realised the number of times I'd been around the sun didn't matter as long as I was working toward what I wanted and trying to be a good person. When it comes to large aspirations that involve your entire circumstances though, striving and grieving are a strange thing, and can subtly dog you for months while your life drifts in slightly the wrong direction. Birthdays seem to be the most likely place-markers to drag those emotions up.

also It is depressing to see that video go out the same day Jade Raymond gives an interview decrying sexism in the games industry.

"That, was-an-interesting, response". Quality wallpaper, Thompson

If the two of us combined forces, we'd see every post. Homeland has apparently been confirmed for a second series. The end of this one stunned me

What spurred the adoption of muskets?
Nachimir replied to FinalExcalibur's topic in Strategy Game Discussion
There is a humongous list of reasons here. Basically: Compact and easy to mass produce ammunition, more powerful, less training required, users less affected by fatigue, frightened horses, better defensive weapon for sieges. -
The anger is subsiding now, but don't think you're anywhere near getting on the $9.95 per minute dude on dude action mailing list.

The leg extension also exponentially increases chance of groin injury

Tell us about your life, KlasSKr33. We'll thank you for sharing. Over, and over, and over again. More or less totally with brkl and Scrobbs on this. Getting rid of stuff and connections can help massively, though give yourself some time to think about it without dwelling. Unprocessed thoughts and emotions can be really poisonous. For a week or so earlier this year, I had no choice to bury something pretty traumatic that a person did to me (well, the other option was to let out all of the white hot rage, subside into a short depression and catastrophically fail a few hundred people in the process). Given similar situations I've been in, I'm pretty certain letting it run around my unconscious mostly undisturbed for that week meant it did more damage than it would have. I'm not saying people shouldn't get help, but outside of extreme or prolonged cases where there's a clinical need, feeling bummed out can be a directed and useful state. It helps us to realign our motives and expectations, and sometimes understand ourselves better.

That's some very nice re-use of Stuff to make a Thing.

brkl, how long does it take to bend and set plywood like that? Every time I see it done, I idly intend to get around to learning how.

I like the idea of something like that being on the other end of something like this.

Does it broadcast your every waking thought?

At that point in the film, I thought: "Huh. No one in SHIELD abuses that, ever", then imagined all the people in that control room short-selling and stalking their exes.
