Next level of bus moron: The shouting, singing, screaming, jumping, fighting, urinating, vomiting, binge drinking ultra-morons on night buses. My tolerance for buses in general is wearing thin now I live in the suburbs and have to use them regularly. Doesn't help that my bus goes through chav town before reaching the city centre

The thing about snipers, even with just a couple, is that if they don't go for the rest of the enemy team rather than just the opposing sniper, they aren't doing much good. Apart from downing the odd scout running along the top of the bridge and the occasional lucky shot on someone jumping down, too often, I end up in a sniper duel on 2fort while everything else goes on below. I'm sure that's mostly because i'm not an excellent sniper, but I find I can do far more damage sneaking up onto their battlements as a spy or pyro.

I like 2Fort, but found out last night it's not so much fun for anyone when there's a super-human sniper on the other side of the central courtyard. Likewise when five people on an eight person team decide to be snipers and all refuse to change class - they all had higher individual scores than anyone else on either team, yet their team didn't win a single game because only two of them were actually trying to get the enemy intel

I'm finding if you keep the flames on people rather than just setting them on fire, you can kill them really quickly. Unfortunately, of course Pyros are attention magnets too, hence not lasting long. I understand it will be difficult for the medic to find cover in a lot of maps, but the combo might be a workable way to advance through tunnels.

Has anyone tried medic and pyro together? I'd like to try it. Someone over at Black Cat has been singing it's praises, and it does make sense to me. As it stands, playing Pyro alone I can sow a lot of chaos, just not for long. Also, I'm pretty surprised I've not seen ragers healing their own team's spy yet :/

Their favorite perk is "martyrdom", so they're obviously a bunch of pinko wackjobs. I'm kind of depressed on actually listening to a gametrailers review. I sometimes use them to get a look at a game, but man... are they all a long, drawn out way of saying "If you press these buttons, it does this. Also, this game is really pretty"?

I agree - I think it influences how people understand things and the effect (if any) it might have on them. I'd really like to see any pro- or anti-censorship people talking about that, but they don't.

I'm having difficulties separating the game from my tastes. Though I'm not squeamish about anything like this, I hate it and it's not for me. How far it's acceptable to go in simulating this kind of stuff? I have no idea. In saying I agree with the censors, I feel like I'd merely be rationalising my preferences. I'd rather not do that, because I have a bunch of huge questions about effects of media content, ie: Why do we censor anything at all? How would media content harm people if we didn't? How would/does seeing sex and violence harm kids? Why are some adults able to deal with "upsetting images" on the news and others unable? The questions tempt simple answers, but that won't do. I'm not asking these from some anti-censorship agenda, it's just that I've never, ever seen anyone give credible answers, or pretty much anyone try to. I've never found the right people to ask about this stuff, and I suspect that's because noone has the answers yet. The palava around Manhunt and Manhunt 2 doesn't provide any, nor, it seems, do any of the people talking about it.

Don't sweat it JKO, if you're trying that hard you're better than a good few people out there. Public servers are full of dumb teams, which means you can practice a good deal - when you're spotting mistakes made by teams you're on, you know you're getting the hang of it. Most satisfying moment from last night: Catching a disguised spy in my base because he had my name, then twatting him with a baseball bat Favorite Demoman tactic: Right button still detonates sticky bombs even if you've switched to the other grenade launcher. On dom maps, I like to leave 8 on the forward point, then if I'm trying to assault the next one and see a "point is being contested" warning, boom Racked up loads of points and defenses like that in a game last night. You can also set traps then bait people

I'm still a beginner at TF2, but I'm getting exactly what you mean Dan. Earlier today, after a hard fought battle over the centre point at the start of a domination game, I was left capping the middle point of a map by myself while the rest of my team ran headlong past it and into the enemy base Team = massacred, then me = massacred with a second or so to go until cap. It was a fucking 9 person team, and not one of the other eight seemed to even know how the game worked.

Is that just Valve's episode 1 stats you're referring to, or are there other stats showing the same thing?

This kind of only works if you get a decent number of players, but the Black Cat Games community (mod team, not the torrent site) sometimes stage invasions of servers/games. They kind of roll on for 24 hours or so, with players popping up from from different timezones for the whole period. It is pretty funny watching regulars react to a dozen or so unknown players show up with a BCG tag.
