  1. Terry Pratchett has alzheimer's

I like his attitude to it.
  2. Wii too wee?

Yeah, I hear that for the next few months Nintendo are selling them all on ebay instead of sending them to retailers.
  3. There should be a blog where you take turns to post versions of events. You could follow each other around to get more dirt on each other and make increasingly petty yet outrageous mutual accusations.
  4. Fallout 3

Isometric? That's different to the opposite of fisheye though. Wide angle lenses (short focal lengths) create barrel distortion: The opposite effect is pincushion distortion, created in photographs by long focal lengths:
  5. Wii too wee?

It went from no to yes (literally just before they sold out everywhere in the UK) to 50/50. I played Far Cry Vengeance on one a few weeks ago and it *looked* a bit shit. I'd need more practice to tell if FPS with a wiimote and nunchuk is any good, but for now a wii isn't on my wishlist.
  6. Is this a general dirty laundry thread or a special one just for Rusalka and Dan?
  7. The Backlog

Hmm... Trauma Center The third and fourth difficulty settings in both Ouendan games (I keep going back to these every couple of months and nailing the higher versions of some more songs each time) Advance Wars: Dual Strike (FUCKING FUCK FUCK FUCKING "CRYSTAL CALAMITY". Game design my ass, that level's just for masochistic cat-arsers). Assassin's Creed Killer 7 Phoenix Wright The last two have been sitting in drawers completely unplayed for a long time. There are more to revisit also, but I know I'm never going back to them. I probably won't ever play Advance Wars or Trauma Centre again either.
  8. A warm welcome to our latest forumer...

It just has to be Thunderpeel.
  9. A warm welcome to our latest forumer...

It has to be someone pranking now.
  10. I'm in ur xbox profile stealin ur friends

I guess so: Ebay has original 120s for around £90 - 100, and the 20 gig ones go there for £30 - 50. Still expensive for a 120 gig drive, but not quite so painful if you can wipe and sell the 20. I expect to be doing this next year as someone is giving me a boggo 360 this month. (Edited currency signs in there)
  11. A warm welcome to our latest forumer...

I'm guessing a spambot has run amuck, and is registering accounts without posting or dumping links in the sigs. Either that, or a spam filter is catching the posts? Sometimes, quite a bit of the wordpress comment spam I find caught in Akismet has no links, just random porn keywords.
  12. The Next Big Internet Thing

It's inevitable that The Sun or the Daily Mail will find out. LOLCats are roughly at the Sun's literacy standard, so maybe it will just make them approach with staff writer jobs on offer.
  13. Blactivision - Actard

Best. Bullet point. Evar. Perhaps they're using Bullshit Bingo as reference now: http://www.bullshitbingo.net/cards/bullshit/
  14. The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

Not listened to them in a few years, but man I used to love them Have they put out much new stuff since Circus Songs?
  15. Mr Splashy Pants

"Due to popular demand, the voting has been extended until the 7th of December 2007 at 17:00 Amsterdam time." It is entirely possible that the forces of crapness could result in a rubbish whale moniker
  16. Spheres of Chaos Freeware

Yes, thank you Playing the demo a few times after Iain Simons' write up on Thumbs was half an hour very well spent
  17. Mr Splashy Pants

If they don't call it Mister Splashy Pants, I'm going to eat it.
  18. F.E.A.R. and why it's complete shit

I found F.E.A.R. adequate, even though the dullness of the environments was pretty annoying. The AI wasn't bad compared to a lot of games, a few times I tried to flank it only to find it had fallen back or switched cover while I couldn't see it. There was a section in an underground car park that's still one of the more tense and memorable sequences from a game for me, as not only was it designed to be a bit full on, I was also low on ammo when I hit it and had to do it on a really tight budget. I enjoyed NOLF and NOLF2 a lot more though, completing the second in one sitting. They were both charming, even though the vehicle sections in NOLF were dull dull dull. Running people down just meant getting shot a lot in the process, leading to tedious tracts of "spot enemies, dismount, sneak, shoot, remount, drive, spot enemies..." Some of the guard idle speech almost made up for this all by itself: "I can't believe I'm missing The Man From U.N.C.L.E."
  19. You Can't Spell Assassin Without...

Why is she Redmond half the time, and Raymond the rest?
  20. People it's fun to laugh at.

It's fun to laugh at the chav I saw last week, wearing a cheapo tracksuit and trainers with a Gucci handbag around his neck, so that it was proudly displayed on his chest.
  21. Games industry data.

I believe Chart Track keep all that kind of data for the UK, but will charge you an arm and a leg for it. They supply data for the Develop 100 and Screen Digest reports, IIRC.
  22. Deus Ex 3!

I've only played Deus Ex, not Invisible War. I'm feeling distinctly "meh" about this: it's all hype and no beef. Given that publishers own most IP, there's pretty much nothing in a name anymore when it comes to games.
  23. Is "Happy Feet" good?

I only got 1:30 into that clip and oh jesus fuck no.
  24. Call of Duty 4

Realism does not equal fun. ... not that I'm making a statement either way on COD 4
