It got published then withdrawn. Apparently, a few copies have been floating around on eBay. OH MY GOD thank you for mentioning Dan. It's like a really bad mashup of Knightmare made with animators who've only ever seen 70s TV shows and voice actors who been in solitary confinement for a decade. I especially like the half-hearted attempt at shadows; they're bad photoshoppery in motion. We may not have found the Citizen Kane of games yet, but this is definitely their Plan 9 From Outer Space Edit: Quote from Neogaf: "This feels like the climax of Act 1 of the internet."

I've enjoyed this, and actually liked how they've gone into the mid season break. I did think they could have created a lot more tension in the revealing of the four with some racist anti-toaster faction influencing all their decisions. As it was, it seemed a bit "Ah well, Tigh's in the airlock so 'spose it's time for us to fess up" and then all was well. I think it's pretty weak that the hostage executions were the only thing that put them in danger.

The amount of sunlight does directly affect our moods (thought to be one reason countries like Finland have higher suicide rates), though personally I've found that I don't get it too badly. Seeking out aesthetically pleasing things, like looking at rain as beautiful, can completely offset the effect for me. I think you make a good point about not getting miserable at extremes. Any humans with traits that made them get despondent in sandstorms, floods or subzero temperatures probably died off many thousands of years ago.

and: I cannot wait to play with this.

That's incredible :0 I must play with this tonight (Hmm. 198Mb for the demo of the editor... so much for Will Wright's "This game is going to fit onto two floppy disks" ). Also: http://ll-248.ea.com/spore/static/thumb/500/001/248/500001248935.png God damn, the pop up makes permalinking strange. This looks like it should work, does it? http://www.spore.com/sporepedia#qry=sast-500001248935 It just sends me back to the first results page despite the creature ID.

Calling BC residents! Vancouver - what's it like?

Do people travel much in the Netherlands? I have a friend studying in Utrecht, who says most people don't bother to make the short journey between there and Amsterdam. -
HURRAY USER GENERATED CONTENT Hmm. All looking considerably less polished than the creatures they've demoed I wonder whether they'll put some kind of filter/review system in place to stop worlds being populated by crap?

Metal Gear Solid 4 - Guns of the Saucer Men From Mars

Ah right. Even at that length though, it seems like Sony are missing a trick. -

If the cutscenes really are an hour and a half long, they should offer downloadable versions for phones, PSP, ipod, etc. -
A real face-melter (or "Hayfever's a right b*st*rd!")

It's his reinfection process that gets me. Whether it's a new girlfriend ("What's this?" "A fishtank of my own shit") or the kids at school ("My dad has a tank full of poo"), it seems guaranteed to get him a local nutter reputation. -
IIRC there's much less combat at the start of the game than at the end. The last levels involve a shitload of it. The first level has quite a bit, but after that you're wandering around the Citadel for quite a while before you get into another fight.

Yes, of course it will come out. It's not like they "reallocated resources". Sony had announced that they were offloading a bunch of staff at the time before the new wipeout was announced, but that was over a year ago now. -
Probably Keanu Reeves Presents, Acts and Directs Art Spiegelman's Maus

It almost certainly existed. It was apparently built when the tribes were still nomadic, and later was in the most inner part of the Israelite temple where only the high priest could go. At some point though, it disappeared, most likely during the Babylonian invasion or the Roman sacking of Jerusalem, but noone ever fessed up. It just quietly went away. Dan is right though, no mention of face melting ghosts coming out of it in the Bible, though one guy did get put to death by god for touching it when he thought a cart transporting it was about to fall off a cliff. The existence of the Ark is pretty much one of the least outlandish claims in the bible though . Hence why the myths built up around it hold so much allure.

Studio Liverpool had just "downsized" a few weeks before that was announced. -

I envy your Dvorak skills. I tried Dvorak for a little while by popping and rearranging the keys on the board attached to my Ubuntu system, but had to stop. It got very confusing seeing as my work laptop is qwerty. I find having a Dvorak layout with a qwerty keymap is a good way of making myself touch type in qwerty though.

Fucking up my ankle pretty badly: Not being able to dance or go running: Having a few days where I just had to rest with it propped up, right after getting GTA IV:

Hey {USERNAME}, {MUTUAL ACQUAINTANCE} told me it was your birthday, so many happy returns. I hope you get {PRESENT USER DESIRES}. Remember that time when {PLEASANT MUTUALLY SHARED MEMORY}? I hope your birthday goes as well as that. Anyway, got to dash to {LOCAL GATHERING PLACE} for some {PREFERRED BEVERAGE}, catch you later. Seriously though, Happy Birthday Metallus

I almost never buy DVDs or CDs, and when I do they're usually for other people... but this on Blu Ray is tempting me.

I spent chunks of Saturday and Sunday tracking down and murdering all of the pigeons. It quickly started to feel very, very boring, until I turned the GPS line off. I think this may have been one of the reasons the missions were feeling so tired - the GPS line drags your eye down to the bottom left and you just go through the motions. I'm finding it much more fun, spending more time exploring the city, and and am learning a lot more about the way it's laid out by just using a waypoint without the line to get everywhere.

Well happy birthday to everyone. I'm back in the UK, but spent most of last week in the Netherlands. I'm also still pretty absorbed in GTA IV, just above 75%, done the pigeons and have the stunt jumps left.

They're fake: and Roswell has been done to bloody fucking death. All the Indy films are based on myth, but IV just doesn't have the historical cojones of any of the others.
