Provided there are no disasters, you should be able to play this in London later this month You can also get the prototype to mess around with here: http://www.experimentalgameplay.com/game.php?g=1

I think quickly following it with a price cut may have also helped

The Jack Thompson circus of delight continues...

I bet his inbox is overflowing with "gg" at the moment. -
I'm pleasantly surprised, and looking forward to this even more now. I can see how it would work, but still have reviews of Lair echoing in my head.

Was I supposed to laugh? Because I did... Really looking forward to trying this out. 2097 through my stereo used to be my fave on the PS1, and have a much better setup nowadays

Exactly the same thing just happened to me. I even got a call today asking for numbers starting with "Hi, I'm just setting up my new iphone..."

Excellent. Seen on Twitter:

For all our sakes, I sincerely hope John Robb is wrong. However, he's talked a lot of sense for the few years I've been reading him, and present economic conditions in the US, and to a certain extent here in the UK, are looking like a giant corporate raid on public treasuries. As someone put it last week: "Privatise the profits, socialise the debts". If he's right, you're probably picking the right time to leave twmac. I found the news very interesting last week, until I realised that banks have basically spent all the time Bush has been in office piling one outrage on top of another.

Oh no Also, Eurogamer made a press release filled gem of a post about it refusing to kark it: It sounds like the best euphemism for feature creep ever. Coming soon, a 29 pillar foundation for success.

50 Cent: Blood on the Sand has been canceled. Once again, .50 Cent facts: 1. 50 Cent is a mammal. 2. 50 Cent fights ALL the time. 3. The purpose of 50 Cent is to flip out and kill people. I imagine Mr. Cent will be inflicting a harsh fate on all those at Activision-Blizzard over this.

The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

n0wak, congrats on getting this featured here (Found it through my RSS reader today). -
It is strange just how hard this rumour has bitten, and how evasive both companies have been about it. Valve saying "This is 100% rumour" isn't a flat out denial, and Google seem to be refusing to just nix it. My guess is that they've been talking about buying Steam but aren't very far in yet. It'd be very easy for rumours of buying Steam to turn into rumours of buying Valve, but as Kim Pallister and Nicholas Lovell, among others, point out, content doesn't make much sense for Google.

Drink up me hearties! It be Talk like a Pirate Day!

Seen on Facebook: "Edward is instituting International Talk Like Tom Waits Day." I think I prefer it -
That will earn you a sharp intake of breath from just about any developer nowadays...

Interesting choice of city for a launch. A good one too Were there launch parties all over the world? Seems strange, it being developed in the US, Australia and Finland.

Expect confirmation of the worst kept secret since Lego Batman* after the EU release. * Not only was this leaking all over the place late last year, I met someone at Develop who had a job interview there. Apparently, during it a voice boomed over the tannoy "Would the Battlefront 3 team please report to..."

Plainly, we're only the second result because we didn't use exclamation marks for SEO.

Mine does the same thing once every few months. It did it the first time I ever switched it on and I just about shat myself.

The ones hosted on imageshack were still there further down the first page last time I looked. The flickr account that posted the first ones seems to be gone though.

TomTom maintain an office with a lot of English speaking support staff in Amsterdam, I'm sure there are plenty of others there too.

Roflopolis.com - New blog <- ego post + Thumbs e3 video lure
Nachimir replied to Spaff's topic in Idle Banter
I think I just found a bug. Double clicking on the title of any entry in my RSS reader usually opens the relevant page in my browser, but not with Roflopolis. Edit: Yes, the feed title sends my browser to the blog, but the individual post titles don't do the same for post pages. Just watched the E3 vid, the Monkey Island scene and the Harry Potter spanking sounds are genius -
Roflopolis.com - New blog <- ego post + Thumbs e3 video lure
Nachimir replied to Spaff's topic in Idle Banter
Cool, you're now in my RSS feeds (The part that I actually read every day rather than skipping ) Aha and cough I'll be sprucing it up a bit this week and giving Thumbs more pimpage there, now likewise for Roflopolis. There are loads of half written posts drafted that I should finish and publish. -
Jesus, Game in Nottingham were selling a few copies of this off for less than a fiver about a year ago. If I'd known I'd have got them all instead of one. Still in my pile of shame, yet to be played
