Dawn of War makes me want to do Warhammer art
Nachimir replied to nonamermcgee's topic in Idle Banter
That's some astoundingly detailed work. I've only seen companies like Epic present work that polished at conferences -
http://www.eegra.com/pages/show/title/24_02_2009_Survival_Horror_Hamlet_and_Other_Classics/ I heard all of these spoken in the voice of Remo:

That might work. Essentially, most of the controls are just switches and routing the signals of a controller through them should work. Not sure about the stick though. Haven't used one for years and don't know if they've gone beyond the 4 microswitches approach of Cruisers and Zipsticks. You may have some tricky surface mount soldering to do on the controller PCBs too, a lot of buttons in these kind of things use a pad on the bottom to make contact between two very close parts of a PCB rather than being discrete switches.

I though I had another one this morning, but it was a Bagos-hite.

Yarg-otta do better than that

I'm sure there are stiltons of these puns left to make.

You people are goudat puns. Edit: n0wak, I totally missed your pun and now feel like a douche for repeating it

American McGee's Alice 2! Or the Return of...they don't know.

It's a pity Bad Day L.A. sucked, I liked the premise even if it was a bit cheesy, and Kozyndan do some nice work. -
This is a brilliant idea

I think this may be the strangest thing I've ever seen in video games. Clearly though, that company appreciates fine games

I'm going to fucking hate it if that's the end. "Love conquers all" is some seriously naive and harmful crap to be spreading around. More like "Love means Tigh couldn't keep his willy in his pants even if it was stapled to his philanderous thigh"* I kind of like the idea that Tigh shagging around might be what started all of this strife in the first place though * I totally stole that turn of phrase from Charlie Brooker.

Grand Thumb Auto XIV: Found and Saved
Nachimir replied to miffy495's topic in Multiplayer Networking
Agh shit fuck, I don't have this yet and probably won't be around tonight. Hella busy time of year, was at work until 8.15 last night ¬¬ -
Comics aren't trash since they ditched the Comics Code and a thriving underground scene reinvigorated them (Sadly, most of comics retail is still obsessed with men in spandex). I see your point though ¬¬
-
They should also shove a "retelling" in novel form in the collector's edition ¬¬

They had that parked outside the Eurogamer Expo last year: http://flickr.com/photos/pixellabphotos/tags/rhino/

It's like Brütal Legend, but taking itself deadly serious

The is looping around and around in my head today. Constantly.Which reminds me of The Frolic Effect. Way more.

I've not been enjoying the latest series of Flight of the Conchords as much as the first, but I thought the latest one was hilarious. Jemaine picks up an Australian girlfriend and they go all out with the offensive stereotypes:

For once I was liking the Gaius plot in this episode. I find it kind of interesting that Gaius was reduced to corpulent cult leader, and now has an antagonist and is exercising his political muscle again. Not sure exactly what they're planning with the guns or what will kick off, but I expect more massacres in the corridors. I'm also pleased to see his crackpot visions of Caprica 6 return. He keeps speaking the lines she feeds him and they work, but he never seems particularly sure why. The baby dying just after Ellen gave that rousing speech about Tigh loving 6 was pretty well done. I can't work out if she's mental or if there really is something wierd going on with social bonds and reproduction there. The show was trying very hard to suggest a connection between Ellen and Tigh getting it on and 6 having a miscarriage before knowing.

The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)
Nachimir replied to Wrestlevania's topic in Idle Banter
I have been listening to a lot of Johann Johannsson recently, especially Fordlandia (epic, beautiful) and Has everyone here heard of Spotify? Between that, Last.fm and MP3s I can pretty much listen to anything now. I have seven invites; if anyone would like one, PM me the email address you'd like it to go to (Edit: looks like you don't need an invite at the moment). Spotify is also the only place I can find online with Fordlandia to listen to, instead of a rubbish 30 second sample. -
It won "Best Casual Game" at AIAS. Ouch! I'm not sure if they were actually trying to insult Jon, or just determined to fit it in for an award around all the other good games that came out last year.

Just before I clicked on that a few minutes ago, I'd completely forgotten that my computer was connected to my amp and the volume was right up

My mental jukebox has been surprisingly tame and tasteful this week. I did remember a couple of truly evil classics, but I just don't have the heart to ever mention them to anyone again, let alone post youtube links. This thread was an evil idea, WTF was I thinking? I occasionally have that stuck in my head because I have a folder of Royal Crown Revue mp3s. Hey Pachuco! is a pretty good swing song (kind of a pity that The Mask is now indelibly associated with them), and ultimately what led me to get into Louis Armstrong, Cab Calloway, Duke Ellington, etc.

Eep, sorry I wasn't there, I was out using a selection of hillclimbs to destroy my own legs. Will get TLTD for next week.
