Hmm, I could see it working with a predictive renderer, much like some netcode will reposition multiplayer opponents based on probabilities - the inaccuracy is often small enough that it won't be noticed. I can't see a predictive renderer working on a thin client though. This would certainly be possible with a fast enough connection, but where the fuck has that outside of the Far East?

I'll call a few of you later. Time zones make me read things literally

I guess. It just makes me very cynical to see Max Clifford hanging around while someone dies.

There's this thing, with a load of game developers or something. Anyway, I just sit in my hotel room all day. I don't want to go outside, there are people with cars, and guns, and ice cream vans here. Actually, when the plane was taxiing and taking off, all I could think about was fire engines getting mangled in the landing gear

Friend with private twitter feed on that: Funny how forgiveness and a few politically expedient statements about being saddened raise Shilpa Shetty's profile vastly too.

i.e., if you make a simple and even trivial mistake or misapprehension, if that woman is connected to your friends in any way it can severely dent your reputation. Women outside your social net are much less risky, but harder to meet unless you're not shy about approaching a lot of strangers. Or in other words, catching women with a net is not a good idea However, things can go much easier if you meet through friends or get set up, because mutual connections make trust easier. On that basis, last year I figured that meeting women through friends would be the best and easiest way, however the games industry is just full of cock and it seems my home city has gone the same way :[

But god, or whatever it likes to be called, moves in mysterious ways Wrestle! Maybe this is why the Greeks ended up with the full on Deus Ex Machina: You can't do it small scale without creating large plot holes.

OMG SPOILERS I thought it was cheesy, but they did good with it. Could have been so, so much worse. At first the god stuff seemed to be heading toward a very anti-atheist cop out, but I thought they moderated it. "It doesn't like that name" was a good touch in the 150,000 years later ending, as was the footage of robots doing more or less anything except fight. Also, I really liked that all the "true love" stuff was pretty balanced. Tigh/Six baby miscarriage despite talk about love, and the Six/Baltar flashback pointing to the kind of monstrous consequences it can have. It was good to see something set against the horrific, simplistic positivity that pop culture paints around romance. Six turning out to see a Baltar throughout was neat too As for Hera, I thought that was as good a justification as any for her being so important, even though, IMO, the sequence it was revealed in came over as smug.

Thanks brkl, just got around to this. Fucking hilarious This could have been devised by Duncan.

It can get awkward for any man who's aware of that to balance being sexually forward against doubts. Ex-girlfriend once talking to me regarding filthy thoughts I was having about girls: "If they're interested they're probably thinking something much filthier about you".

, by Royal Crown Revue. This thread is a horrible and magnificent idea, one that wasn't mine. I took part in one once on a different gaming forum, and it alternated between song titles and "you bastard" for several months. Just remember, humming the can overwrite pretty much anything

Yes, calling that rape is really fucking dodgy. It trivialises it more than crap casually made rape jokes in the ign.com thread, while obnoxiously putting up doubts around some very normal aspects of male sexuality. There's a whole spectrum of creepy and sometimes abusive behaviour that isn't rape. I quite liked this piece on "not rape". Men can get really fucking scary if they think they're going to have sex and suddenly think they're going to be denied it. That women sometimes flirt and go much further for attention and fun only is also stupid; I've known a bunch of girls who seemed to think that, if they kissed a guy, he wouldn't assume she wanted to fuck him too. Duh. There are profound misunderstandings of sexuality between genders. I think people in the UK and America are generally shit at dealing with, talking about and having sex.

Oh god, don't get me started on aesthetics, especially not when I'm this tired. http://blowatlife.blogspot.com/2009/02/pepsi-logo-response.html

The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

Today is slightly manic, and fittingly so is Tenen Non Neu by Duchess says. I *so* want this in Rock Band or GHWT, just for the vocals. -
You mean we'll still occasionally be thinking "Man that's a dumb name" in a few years time? The Nintendo Poo would have been a more appropriate name, given the frequency we switch ours on with*. * Yeah, I know, I'm not the intended audience ¬¬

Absolutely. Emotion and reason aren't opposites, they're just different, though emotion (for what the term is worth...) tends to deal with things on shorter timescales.

I'm noticing a lot of public statements by companies at the moment that are only really meaningful internally. The kind of .biz speech that makes people want to hurt stuff or kill themselves during meetings.

SyFy reads like a channel exec saying SciFi, but belming while they do it.
