And on the cover of today's MCV: "It's basically the Gran Turismo of getting your face kicked in" (Official Playstation Magazine on UFC 2009 Undisputed)

Too bad: http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=23518 (Watch the trailer linked if you didn't catch it last year)

Brilliant. I also like that the girl photographing the biker is frantically waving a 400mm or so lens around, roughly 8 feet away from him

Thanks for posting this. Most entertaining and has me more excited about the game than any of the trailers or screenshots The skies look incredible, can't wait to see them moving.

It's going to be hard to top the artwork they've already been putting out, though it would be interesting to try out different aesthetics. It certainly doesn't deserve any mockery IMO

I hate Games for Windows Live and subsequently MicroSoft

Switched entirely to console. I prefer lounging on a sofa to play games rather than sitting up at a desk, though would go back to PC if I were playing multiplayer FPS. I also found that, while PC games are absolutely great for keeping yourself awake if you need to tweak your bodyclock because of odd working shifts or jetlag, console games and sofas are not so conducive to staying awake -
Grand Thumb Auto XXV: Passionate Patti Does a Little Undercover Work

Tonight was excellent. Highlights of tonight, a drunken bullet pointed list: Running myself over with a burning ice cream van. Finding a remote sniper tower int he prison. None of you seemed to spot me for the whole game, there must be a big lens flare behind it or something. Standing on an overpass, rocketing a car with toblix in it, the blackened car then flying up into the air hitting me in the face and knocking me off the edge Firing a rocket under Toblix' red sports car in the same match, blowing the back end into the air without it exploding, then hitting the car with a second rocket as it landed. JamesM knocking my fire engine over then pinning me down with the hose. My freelance police strategy and lack of communication completely fucking the team of cops over, then still leaving Bohan after them because I was so shit that game -

Not since I gave up PC gaming and switched to 360 -
Yes. Maybe we could even make a difference?

We come up ahead of the main official one, but there are a couple of others, one staffer and I think the mobile account, that at present come up higher because they have a few hundred more followers.

Well, it looks like it's not meant

Yes, a friend lives in Leeds and I'm sometimes up to visit him. I hadn't heard of OK before going up, and was happily surprised to find somewhere else with a range like Page 45's. That Manga shop sounds horrible. I try to have a bit of respect and compassion for absolutely everyone including strangers, but when they pull that kind of shit I can't help but feel they've become nothing to me.

That's probably inevitable, and twitter will either give them the account or make us change it to "fakeigndotcom" or something. Still fun for now Might put the thread URL in part of the profile. A marketing manager commented on it: "If IGN are clever, they'll leave it be". We now have 580 followers. There are only two accounts that show up in search with more, and we will overtake them within about 6 weeks if the rate of new follows stays consistent. I suspect they might have a problem when we come top of search for "ign"

Which one had the clockwork robots that fired ball bearings and made the really cool CHUNG CHUNG CHUNG sound while doing so? Because that was definitely the better of the two ¬¬

I'm not sure. Much as I fundamentally loathe cliques, apart from the very worst people most people who act cliquey don't even realise they're doing it. I think there can be all kinds of reasons, but when respect from strangers depends on specialist knowledge and values, something is definitely fucked. Dave Sim and Gerhard were touring with the guys who set up Page 45 in the 90's, who at the time were working in shitty comic shops. I understand it went something like: "You guys should set up your own comic shop." "Buh?" "You have to. You understand so much of what's wrong with them." "... Why have we not thought of this ourselves?" They set it up to look like a bookshop rather than a comic shop, put interesting fiction at the front and superheroes at the back, never, ever look down on anyone for not knowing something about comics, and will ask anyone a bunch of questions before recommending anything. Quite a few relatives have gone in there looking for Christmas presents, told them who they're buying for and generally been paired up with the right books.

My lights only came 48th on voting for the users top ten, but were in the other five picked by the judges, so made the final. That means that even if I come 15 of 15, I still get to do at least a bit of laser cutting Also, I kind of fell in love with someone I shouldn't have. That's happened enough times now that it's "Oh, this again" rather than anything traumatic though

Agreed, that trailer sounded like they were desperately trying to shoehorn as much Jack Black into it as possible, and it was lame. New trailer is better: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/48684.html?type=flv

Yeah, but still amazing how people don't check the URL. People should check for a proper source, like: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/8032582.stm

I'm pretty sad to hear that about Gosh, I was always under the impression they were alright. OK Comics in Leeds is certainly worth a visit. Indeed, they got me into comics about a decade ago with all kinds of spot on recommendations, and never try to fob people off with overstocked stuff. I see Stephen and Tom quite a bit in and out of the shop, and they've always tried as hard as possible not to do the comic shop till clique thing. It was also them that inadvertently switched me on to how different the demographic problems games were having around 2003 could be. Almost 50% of their customer base is female (and has been for a long time), since they have a shop full of interesting stuff and keep the spandex understated. Psst, Thunderpeel! Their signings are also generally better, since at many they'll quietly whisper the name of a pub and time to you, where you cn go and have a few pints with them and whoever signed. It's not as if there isn't still a crowd, but it sweetens the whole queuing for hours thing

That'll be the Gouraud shading. They've taken much the same approach with shaded characters and pre-rendered scenes. I went and looked up a few videos of this. Gameplay looks terribly frustrating and punitive. Also found a video of , turns out that .
