  1. So.. Batman: Arkham Asylum

Games reissued on budget labels might have a cheaper wholesale price, but the developer and publisher don't get less from a lower retail price on the original pressing, do they?
  2. The sad sad tale of Tim Langdell

EA have filed a motion to have Edge trademarks canceled: http://ttabvue.uspto.gov/ttabvue/ttabvue-92051465-CAN-1.pdf
  3. If you thought the Saitek Cyborg was crazy...

The more I look at it, the more I think that right now it triggers monumental tech lust, but sometime in the next 5 years it will suddenly look incredibly tacky. Carving the box down to essentials like that, making the internal form of a PC into a nice external form, is a really nice idea. It comes across not as industrial design though, but more visual design, so it'll date like fashion :/
  4. Down in the Zone (S.T.A.L.K.E.R.)

Thank you, I enjoyed that during a few commutes. I'm more disappointed with the extra endings to the game now. Roadside Picnic does a good job of examining the disturbing motives of Stalkers without ever explaining the Zones. The extra, harder to find endings of Stalker seem even more like typical SF "come up with bunkum to explain everything" writing. I liked that they had a fair bit of pathos in too, but still.
  5. G20 - Police use tear gas,, sound cannons

It seems as if protest has died within my lifetime. Not that people don't want to, just that political will is so firmly led by other agendas that no matter how big or loud the protest, leaders just ignore it or stamp it out.
  6. If you thought the Saitek Cyborg was crazy...

    Pretty, but not timeless.
  7. So.. Batman: Arkham Asylum

Neither of them features space stations or miscellaneous high tech, cluttered corridors inspired by Aliens.
  8. Idle thumbs London meet!

That's correct, but they're vicious this year. You'll have write a creator's statement more pretentious than the one of our resident artist, out-weasel an unemployed banker, and flawlessly answer a 100 question pop quiz consisting of things like "WHO WAS BETTER? BRAQUE OR PICASSO?" I'll try to get along to anything Thumbs related, though will be around the expo both days. I'd also like to second SignorSuperdouche's recommendation of not doing it at Leicester Square.
  9. Idle thumbs London meet!

I'll be around for the entirety of eurogamer thing since i'm doing the indie arcade again. It carries on until 20:00 each day and i'll be running something afterward on Friday the 30th though, bugger :/
  10. The Myth of Sisyphus (Trials HD)

Arg : ( Will get around to your maps this week, but have backlog of this, Batman, Rockband and Mirror's Edge... The hard and insane levels are driving me nuts. I dislike that one of the ways they've make them harder is by making them a lot darker :/
  11. So.. Batman: Arkham Asylum

It seems more and more the case nowadays that his detective work is when he just goes into the Batcave or Waynetech to sit in front of a huge bank of plasma TVs and do science.
  12. I ordered Mirror's Edge from there the other day just so I could get the time trials too.
  13. Life

(An elipsis snuck into your link) http://www.amusement.fr/index.php?/gallery/made-of-myth/ You made these? Excellent!
  14. So I'm not going to be around for a while...

Good luck Wrestle, I'll be thinking of you.
  15. So.. Batman: Arkham Asylum

More than 50%. All the trail following for a start, and when armed bad guys are around it's just too practical to switch off. By the time it's safe to, I've generally forgotten it's on at all.
  16. MINERVA: Metastasis (a Half-Life 2 mod)

Thanks for the heads up Wrestle, will queue it up on Steam. Evocative of midget porn, necrophilia, or date rape
  17. 25 years since Elite was released!

GameCity are posting origami Elite ships. They were meant to be in the box 25 years ago, apparently. I, for one, am happy to see the phrase "DOWNLOAD ESCAPE POD ORIGAMI" anywhere
  18. Arg, people staying means me being late or possibly not online
  19. New people: Read this, say hi.

Or perhaps a spot of Steve Reich.
  20. You always have to compromise between realistic architecture and fun. Deathmatch levels especially are basically follys in any other architectural terms. Arkham Asylum also has nonsensical orphaned vent systems for sneaking under people.
  21. Look what Kanye did! (Mildly amusing.)

I wasn't complaining. I just thought that was funny.
  22. New people: Read this, say hi.

Fodder has not introduced himself yet, but I would like to draw attention to the fine, fine avatar his account sports, which appears to be the green guy from that ancient Bruce Lee game:

  24. I saw that phrase on so many internal forums for mod teams about 7 years ago, and it still makes me wince
