Some good advice here. Also, don't fixate on attraction, and by that I mean that too many people I know get hung up on one person they're merely very attracted to, rather than in love with. There are shitloads more people that attractive and compatible out there. As a rule of thumb, if I've ever found myself hung up on someone who's not interested, it means I'm not meeting enough people. Meeting people non-romantically is something that can massively fuel your love life, because of the whole mutual acquaintance thing.

Implode is a physics demolition puzzle game with a nice blackboard aesthetic. It's the first iPhone game that's actually kept me playing to the end rather than being interesting for a few levels.

I picked up Infinite City this week, and it's alright. Definitely a level down from more involved strategy like Power Grid, but fun to play. It's pretty simple because the rules are mostly on the tiles, and this means that it's something like a hybrid of Carcassonne and Fluxx. I generally dislike randomness like that, but noone seemed to be able to fuck with a strategy too much.

Speaking of tears, at GDC people will apparently find out exactly how a Video game can make you cry: https://www.cmpevents.com/GD10/a.asp?option=C&V=11&SessID=10324 :frusty: (via Infovore on Twitter) I didn't think this deserved a thread of its own, and this one seemed like the most appropriate one to shit in.

Need to eat, so will be there about quarter past 9.

I'll be around.

Deal! I bought a pistol crossbow recently to practice shooting in the garden. Her response: "Cool. Can I join you?". My dad got me a (completely unexpected) unicycle for Christmas: "I'm so jealous". She's a keeper. It may be a few months before it's official, but I'll definitely let you know what the decision is when it's made.

Thanks. I've talked it over with a bunch of people and it's getting less scary... not sure yet though. I spent the weekend paintballing and practicing martial arts with my girlfriend and realised what a lucky man I am

Years ago I saw an very good thriller with Walter Matthau in, and forgot the title. It was Charley Varrick, repeated on TV the other night, and is a really excellent film. The main antagonist is an eccentric mob assassin.

One gang might have plastic wrap, but only Thunderpeel's gang has a genuine sequence of rainbow colours.

Today, I completely forgot I'd agreed to give a two hour lecture on game development at a local college. Luckily, the tutor reminded me early this morning, so I threw slides together from some old talks about game culture and it went really, really well. Speaking on something I care about a lot makes it much easier, and they asked me to talk about indie games, so showing VVVVVV, Time Fcuk and so on was a pleasure. I forgot about the lecture because I was blindsided by an offer I received this week. I can't talk about it in public yet, but it could either make me very happy and a bit better off... or completely fuck up my life. It's a pretty big decision

Meat Circus is like the last level of Ouendan; so frustrating, then eventually it clicks and you can do it.

Shit gonna get thrown down. Could each thread please have a gang sign?

That had my brother and I both in tears, thanks

Incredible. Just a tad too long for twitter, but up there with a link now  I wonder if they actually have a style guide?

Yes, unlikely to be your PSU causing slowdown, it'd just reboot or power off. Video drivers are your first port of call. Also, check all of your BIOS settings to make sure nothing's set to go slower than it should, crashes can sometimes cause them to underclock the CPU, etc.

The side panel is permanently off my desktop system now, as it's so old and so infrequently used that the cards often need reseating.

I've been excited about this since Morris first said "Terrorism is about ideology, but it's also about berks."

Are Goblins in there? I was impressed on reading that, because they're tiny and weak, their rule set in the table top version is built around cheating, complete with rules for players being noticed and sent off

Yeah, seemed like that to me too. The best thing on TV is almost always what the presenters who aren't talking are doing with their faces

Is this a thing that will occur? Join me at 21:00 GMT, tonight, Tuesday the 19th of January to find out. Or perhaps I'll play more Borderlands if noone turns up. Sorry I've not been around for a while, I've been distracted by a new games night at a local boardgames shop, and am now going to alternate between that and this.

Grand Thumb Auto XLVII: Bummed in the swingset
Nachimir replied to Nachimir's topic in Multiplayer Networking
Hitting me just as my character was opening the door of the next one was a nice touch though I accidentally bail quite a bit, and did it once last night. Control mappings for other games keep overriding stuff, so after lots of Borderlands, I kept pressing the left stick to run too. Also just remembered: cops and crooks, bailing from the car, shouting "Just leave me to die!" when the cops caught up with us, killing them, then getting to the boat using the cop car. Then Miffy: "I said cheese it. It is not being cheesed!" The melee deathmatch where we all ended up in vehicles was great too. -
Grand Thumb Auto XLVII: Bummed in the swingset

Or perhaps it'll be the busiest in ages! Cheers everyone, I think that's the most laughter I've ever heard in one Highlight for me was during the last race, F4T C4T setting my lamborghini on fire, running me over at high speed just after I bailed from it, then running me over a second time just as I was getting into another
