  1. That ZX Spectrum Thing

I never played any Spectrum games except for Jetpac (for the same reasons as you), but I know that Manic Miner, Jet Set Willy, Chuckie Egg, and Monty on the Run are all big Spectrum games.
  2. Grindhouse (2007)

Planet Terror is a zombie movie with Tom Savini and Michael Biehn, it has to be cool.
  3. Know your game designers

"You've scored 23 points. You're batting 920." But a lot of the questions could have been narrowed down to one or two people just based on if it was a Japanese or not.
  4. Give me Big Mac, fries to go*

This Is the Day...This Is the Hour...This Is This! I thought about getting it but heard it getting mixed reviews. But considering that I've liked every other game they've done, I'll probably pick it up. I would be up for Idle Thumbs matches if I do get it.
  5. Canadian games??

Wolverine from X-Men is Canadian, does that make X2:Wolverine's Revenge a Canadian game?
  6. [Choose a Classic] Burnout 3 or Burnout 4?

Burnout 4 has a better racing mode and no annoying announcer (in the English version anyway), but Burnout 3 has a better crash mode and since that's the best thing about the Burnout series, I'd say to go for Burnout 3. Plus it's probably cheaper anyway.
  7. MTV acquires Harmonix

MTV just gets a cut of the profits while Harmonix gets more money to make their games and probably has access to more songs now. I doubt that MTV would try to mess with Harmonix and tell them what to do.
  8. The Amazing Screw-On Head

http://www.scifi.com/amazingscrewonhead/ Please fill out the form and say that it's awesome, this show needs to be picked up and replace the current shit that's on the Sci-Fi channel, stuff such as ECW Wrestling and its made for tv movies. I guess they're also going to play Dark Place (another brilliant show) on the Sci-Fi channel, which has an episode you can watch on their website as well.
  9. Suicide inducing gameplays

I thought Battletoads and Double Dragon was a lot easier than regular Battletoads, and I never play coop in battletoads because when someone has to continue, it restarts the level for both people, making you want to kill your friend.
  10. Suicide inducing gameplays

Almost all of Battletoads makes me want to kill myself.
  11. Bad games that are good

A lot of people, including myself, thought Starship Titanic was bad, but I had fun playing it. Troika's games were buggy as hell but I enjoyed them. I can't really think of any other games, this is a lot easier to do with movies.
  12. Vivendi re-releases Quest games

Hopefully it doesn't get pushed back, again. I'd like to see their other series come out in collections as well, I want to see Gabriel Knight and Quest for Glory released in collections.
  13. Doublefine Not Screwed

http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/43680 Hopefully they can do a better job at marketing than Majesco, they probably can.
  14. Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends

Foster's Home is great. It's probably the only good show left on Cartoon Network, not counting anything from Adult Swim although most of the stuff on Adult Swim is pretty bad as well.
  15. Chris Remo Podcast

Former Idle Thumbs writer Chris Remo and two people from Shacknews now have their own podcast called Played. The first episode just came out and it's pretty good so give it a listen.
  16. WTF? nintendo monopoly?

Yeah, I was joking. I can easily see why someone wouldn't like it, I've had games where it's lasted for days. I think most of the fun comes from screwing people over by owning monopolies and putting people on the verge of bankruptcy when they land on hotels. I probably also like it because I made my brother cry once when he landed on one of my hotels.
  17. WTF? nintendo monopoly?

Monopoly does not suck ass, YOU DO SIR!
  18. Dark Messiah Demo

I don't think so. The game really isn't an rpg and it's organized into levels. There may be parts where there's multiple ways of getting past an area but that's about it.
  19. Dark Messiah Demo

They could probably cut down on the file size if they didn't put cutscenes in the demo. It's pretty fun, there's a lot of options given to you for taking enemies out and the combat system is pretty good, kicking a guy into a wall of spikes feels very satisfying. The game is nothing like other medieval FPS like Heretic and Hexen. It's more like an improved combat system that you would see in something like Elder Scrolls 4 or Arx Fatalis. And yeah, it's only 10 minutes long but is worth replaying to try different stuff out.
  20. Bowling for Zombies

I wish I had an X-Box 360, there's a lot of good stuff on it now
  21. Pure fried youtube gold!

The ASU promo is pretty bad, but I like this one more http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ytpJx467JI and it's even better when you read about the movie itself http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_Circus There's also some pretty amazing commercials on youtube, like this, this, this, and this. EDIT: I forgot to post this http://www.youtube.com/verify_age?next_url=/watch%3Fsearch%3D%26mode%3Dsuggested_some%26v%3D1v0YBML3sxA
  22. I thought Donkey Kong was a pretty easy musical game, but Guitar Hero does have difficulty modes so you should be able to get into that.
  23. What are you listening to?

Recently I bought the special editions of the albums Violator and Music for the Masses by Depeche Mode so I've been listening to them a lot. I've also been listening to Fantomas and Nine Inch Nails.
  24. Arcade Revivalist Foundation

I'd also like to see that happen with the arcade version of the first TMNT arcade game and TMNT 2 for the NES, for the same reasons. It would also be awesome to see X-Men, The Simpsons, and Alien Versus Predator re-released, but I have the feeling that will never happen since they probably have to license the characters again before they can re-release their older games.
  25. Heroes in a half-shell

One time, there was a bunch of kids from my elementary school who went to an arcade and one of the kids spent the whole time playing The Simpsons arcade game while other kids would join in and leave. He started to run out of money near the end of the game but then kids started giving him quarters so he could finish the game. I also did the same thing when our school went to a Roller Rink on the last day of school when I played through the Alien Versus Predator arcade game. These games need to be put on X-Box Live Arcade or something, these were some of the best coop games ever.
