(none of which are by dave perry (wild guess). earthworm jim is hilarious though) nobody has the time, but if you can rely on your own judgement from when you were a kid, you can come up with something. your memory tends to hold onto things that you like the most. making a game (album, painting, book...) tends to warp your judgement of your own work. only given time can you judge the true merit of an original creation. revisiting is always counter-productive. qed.

yep. that's me. i just submitted aweek ago and am suffering from complete lack of something to do, so if you still want a hand with luna let me know, yuf. here's my thesis, if anyone wants to read it. the demo game is a pile of shite, but was just meant to find out how people reacted to the approach, not be a real game. you can see how they reacted in the thesis if you want. im a bit unconvinced of the usefulness of this stuff, especially since im such a fan of well crafted story in games, and this ai storytelling stuff means youre relinquishing a lot of control over details. anyway, it's stuff that makes me think about storytelling in general, and since im a computer geek and cant write a story to save my life, i thought i could learn a bit about it by programming it. sort of a standard defense mechanism for programmers, i suppose.

i propose a blend of democracy and anarchy. anarchy gets a bad name, but really, what good has a government ever done you? you can keep your congress/parliament/dáil, whatever, just chop the head off by getting rid of this single all powerdul (SP i think ill leave that) person that runs the whole show, along with their henchmen. no parties needed, as people seem to associate parties with the personality of their leaders - who now no longer exist - , just general elections and everything (slowly (i think governments currently work way too fast to make any sensible decisions) ) decided by the voting of representatives, checked by publicly available internet veto booths. (- this could actually work - any law can be vetoed by any citizen - hahahahaha (well, i spose itd have to be a quota for the veto to happen) ) demarchy? anarcracy? who cares? just go out and do it! now! oh, and while you're at it, KILL GEORGE W. i really liked the music from Quadralien for some reason. addictive industrial mush. my deliplayer says it was by Whittaker. cant remember his first name. the amiga actually had very cool audio hardware in it, so hearing the tunes coming from the amiga is the best. xenon2 had sweet music too.

i dunno, i havent looked at the interview or played the demo, but Mechner is still involved, that has to be a good thing. the music is still not finished, from a cursory web glance. using time travel in a more involved way is a natural progression for the series, something they must be ripping from DOTT. if the combat is used about as much as in SOT, except it's much better, that can only be a good thing. i wouldn't discount this yet. wont be getting it straight away, though.

ah, yeah i forgot: 128mb the computers are great,alright. i only played the original cs a couple times on lans, so im doing really terrible, but its fun.

i'm running it on a 1.5Ghz P4, 768Mram(recently got more - this is important), Nvidia 5200(cheap as shit), with no real problems - it runs 1024*800 with everything on high(no AA), and looks sweet, but the framerate is smooth as a baby's freshly chopped liver with lower settings. drooling in anticipation.

i cant wait. mario64 mixed with grim fandango. now i wont have the problem of never being sure what my favorite game ever is. could be hl2, tho. have to wait and see.
