http://www.bandtoband.com/index.php I'd like to see something like this done for game developers/artists/designers.

Welcome back to Mars, the Evil has been Resurrected
baconian replied to Kolzig's topic in Video Gaming
I'm looking forward to this. Just got round to finishing Doom3, and it was very enjoyable. the 'id software' emails came at a point where it was very welcome, because the atmosphere in this game was almost too good, and I was shitting my pants in the last hell-type bit. -

alternative to soccerdude's idea: startmenu-> run type 'msconfig' edit the 'startup items' list. I only have these processes running, and sometimes AVG virus checker: everything else is pointless. and it's stable and fast enough on a relatively crap PC.
-
Soccerdude, doublefine are doing the PC version too, but getting other guys to do the PS2 port. Spiderman 2 PC version was a completely different game, different developers and all, from the excellent PS2 version.

but Elite was made by one person and it had the whole galaxy in it. (in less than half a meg) I can't get over how little influence the idea of procedural content has had in the game industry.
-
with the little guy standing beside it.
-
it's all timing after this point...
-
i read he's in the running to do the post-epIII star wars TV series.
-
yeah, this guy brings that up. I'm wondering what they're going to do with the story now, given that most people (not me) appear to have hated the zen levels. It seems likely that HL3 will feature alien locations. Maybe some 2061-type space station yokemyjigger?

the sparkling waves will look awesome.
-
fingers crossed for Gilbert being a part of the next Doublefine adventure.

I finished that one on first try. weird that. Try staying a little bit ahead of the front carraige. and what Errki said.

that looks great. funny great engine looks like a good soundtrack, too

Will wright interview! at the Onion! rock on! i'll warn you of the patronising blurb at the start. oh no, i already have. if you're like 'ah the sims was crap, who cares' then i'd be like 'fair enough, but Wright is one of the smartest guys you're gonna find, and has lotsa interesting stuff to say, so, like, read it.'

"Would The Matrix's vision of virtual reality have had as much impact in a world without Myst?" what? well, i suppose if you're catering to a less gamer-centric audience it's grand, but when i read it first i was drunk and angry after a metal gig.

ah it's not really thin lizzy, more an old fart tribute band. i'm going to megadeth tomorrow. ha. EDIT: ah fuck it i wont bother posting again as yis are back on topic,... They kicked ass. excellent. Mustaine is the only original member but they got this drums/lead pair of brothers whose names now escape me and they are seriously talented. nailed everything. I'd recommend you see this tour. His voice was grand. his hand still works. Lizzy are playing near me in 2weeks (TWO WEEKS. TWO. WEEKS). probly check them out too.
