I call dibs on the DK Barrel.

He's already done that:

I actually bought the Anakin/Vader torture/transformation chair (in LEGO form!) as a Christmas present for my brother last year. And It's All Thanks To Idle Thumbs!

How about the flaw that it's impossible to finish because Princess Shroob is an UTTER BITCH and I hate her. Just like Cackletta was an UTTER BITCH and I hated her. There was no way I could finish the original without a goddamned Action Replay, and Partners In Time is JUST THE SAME. Difficulty level of: easy...easy...easy...tolerable...tolerable...OH HEY IT'S FUCKING PETEY PIRAHNA AGAIN...tolerable...tolerable...PRINCESS SHROOB IMPOSSIBLE DIFFICULTY. So there. I really, really love the game (although not as much as Superstar Saga - it feels like this one is trying too hard for jokes), but honest to god - there's no way I'll be able to finish it without some sort of cheat device. Which sucks, because I'd like to see the ending.

I bought the first five seasons sets - so now I don't even have to watch the awful reruns, I can just watch the good episodes when I want to. It's wonderful. The most accurate description of The Simpsons I remember (and this was three or four years ago!) was that it's like a terminally ill vegetable on life support.

What an awesome thread! Also, I know the EXACT bit you're up to, toblix, because that's where I got up to as well. I was sitting at the kitchen table at the time, playing it over and over, and now, my mum and I sometimes shout out "DOCTOR!!" when something goes wrong because we heard the game say it so much. Goddamn blob things that have a billion of them pop up simultaneously. I know what you have to do - you can't complete them one at a time. You have to juggle between multiple ones so that they don't burst - but my multitasking skills are quite lacking, so there were plenty of "DOCTOR!!"s that day. Let's begin the OPERATION! Again.

Another fun one to look for is "mixed bag". That's a real cop out. I used to use that when writing early reviews, and my editor pointed it out - I was shocked at how often I used it when I couldn't think of a way to describe something. From then on, I made a conscious effort not to use it, because, let's face it - what the hell does it actually mean, anyway? -
Maybe it's from the sequel to Zombie Nation?

Oh come on, using fancy words is fun, look: Reviewing shit games was a real highlight for me. I also reccommend using haiku. -
Let's bring back Knights of the Round - that was pretty sweet. I liked how you got prettier armour as you levelled up. I'm all for pretty trinkets and doodads.
-
I'd like to see Trog come back - sure, it was esentially a four player Pac-Man ripoff with dinosaurs, but come on - claymation graphics! Also, I'd like to see some kind of amalgamation of the arcade and SNES versions of Turtles in Time. The four player fun and speech of the arcade, but the extra levels and bosses of the SNES version.

I assure you, I know who Krang is. :-)

You know what? I really hope the rumours of Hudson porting Bomberman Saturn to XBLA are true. Bomberman Angst I won't touch with a ten foot pole, but ten player simultanous Bomberman? Awesome.

Ohhhh, okay, that makes a lot more sense. I thought you had to control ALL the dots. Awesome. Dialhex instantly reminded me of Hexic - but it looks like it might not be as difficult. I thought that the rest of 'em were out now? You can certainly get Soundvoyager from Play Asia. But anyway, yes, please let us know about the rest of the series that you get. They all sound like pretty cool games.

Wrestlevania and miffy, you've both said that dotstream was the bit generations game that attracted you the most and you seemed to understand the easiest. I feel a bit stupid - I don't understand in the slightest how it works. It looks very cool though. Could you explain what you have to do in it? Also, Soundvoyager looks absolutely BRILLIANT. I'd love to play that.

Yeah, it looks alright..but where's the giant talking brain?

Speaking of justice, I can't WAIT for Phoenix Wright 2. It has justice....for ALL.

Well....Mojib Ribbon is fun! Very, very, basic. But fun! And pretty, also. Vib Ripple is okay, but it's no Mojib Ribbon.

That's an awesome game. I played it right through to the end (although, I did cheat my way through about 3/4 in). I like how you can save a few of your best evolutions and change back to them at certain points in the game. Nothing like turning into a T-Rex type-thing to kill a boss. :-)

...for GBA this time. But it's going to have the Spin Dash and a save feature now! Personally, I think this is pretty good - the only thing that bothered me about the original Sonic was the lack of spin dash. Here's hoping that they don't butcher the music - that would be a damn shame. Love Labyrinth Zone. I mean, sure, I have Sonic 1 on the Mega Collection, but...Spin Dash!

Yeah, they first advertised this in the back of the Bubble Bubble Revolution Manual. I haven't actually played the original, so maybe if I play this remake, I won't get the feelings of horror that I got with the "reimagined" Bubble Bobble.

I don't know about you, but this makes me want to play through Monkey Island 1 and 2. AGAIN.

At the moment, I'm finishing off Tamagotchi Connexion: Corner Shop (I love that you get to drill cute little monsters' teeth and inject anasthetic). Also playing Mickey's Speedway USA for Game Boy Color, and have LocoRoco sitting in my PSP about 1/4 played, so I probably should get back to that as well.

Well....I don't really have that much to say about Dreamfall, to be honest, except that I enjoyed it very much. Someone said that due to its ultra-simplistic puzzles it was more like reading a book than playing a game, and I certainly agree with this - but I hardly think that this was a problem. I enjoyed easily being able to go with the flow of the story, and watch the progression as it rolled along, faster, and faster, swallowing up everyone and everything in its way, kind of like a snowball. The bits I didn't like were the fighting (horribly clunky) and that stupid bit with April where there's those statues and running around avoiding a blue monster guard so that you can open a door and continue to follow the prophet. I'm no good at stealth. Interestingly, although I didn't like the fighting, I did like that it gave you multiple options of solving certain puzzles. For example, when in Victory Hotel, you can storm into the lounge room and bluff your way through, or fight. What I did though, was set off the pizza machine straight away and hid behind the door when the guy came in to check it. Then I snuck off upstairs. There were other situations where I know that I avoided combat, too. Like the woman waiting at the WATI elevators. You could sneak up behind her and knock her out cold, but what I did was just walk up to her and talk to her. She said "Are you new?", so I went along with that, and we ended up taking the elevator together and having a hilariously awkward conversation during the cutscene. I also loved that Roper Clacks popped up. I couldn't help laughing when April first looked at him and thought "Why am I suddenly thinking of moving stairs?". And he talks about how he had to learn advanced triginometry to escape the calculator. And then found a self-help group for world domination addicts. Classic. And sure, I'm as eager as everyone else to find out what happens next, but there's really nothing I can do in the meantime, so I guess I'll have to wait. ...okay, so maybe I did have something to say about Dreamfall, after all.
