  1. GTA gets *good* press! >>>SHOCK<<<

...though they may have invented Legos
  2. is THIS funny?

Ah Yufster, what have you started here?
  3. GTA gets *good* press! >>>SHOCK<<<

An American dictionary anyway. The irritating thing is that by their definitions, it suggests that the American word came first, which is obviously nonsensical unless you believe that theft was invented by the Americans... If you check an English (online) dictionary for the definition of 'burglarize' on the other hand, you get:
  4. Spam spam tomato and spam

That Russian one is indeed an excellent piece of spam. I always like the ones that give you a name and an address that you could presumably find via some directory services or free online map. Makes me wonder what's actually there... as long as it's not the poor and frozen corpses of Valentin and Elena
  5. I hate SLOW people

I like the way that from your quotes, this guy always speaks so slowly except for the dirty comment, like that's the only thing where his brain and mouth team up to operate at full velocity. If he were to take some sort of speech therapy, they would have to start him off saying the filthiest things imaginable, then gradually wean him on to innuendos and eventually normal speech, whilst attemptng to maintain the same speed...
  6. Any of you fuckers touch my car, and you die.

Begging tourists is an effort, and possibly demeaning. Randomly smashing stuff was neither, and in the case of your recent breakage shbazjinkens, probably just for fun. I doubt it was personal anyhow, these things rarely are. For everyone out there who really doesn't like you, there's got to be a least 20 random idiots in the neighbourhood who are bored and have no problem with giving grief to complete strangers, moreso if you live in a city.

    I smoulder with directed rage...
  8. GTA gets *good* press! >>>SHOCK<<<

'Burglarize'?? I mean, I thought we had it bad with all the 'legos' going on, but what the hell kind of a word is that? Does it have exactly the same meaning as burgle? This is almost as retarded as replacing the word 'practical' with 'practicable'... Does adding a couple more letters to an existing and fine word somehow make it more up to date and better? Does addering a couple more lettters to an existening and fine word somehow makerize it more up to date and betterer?
  9. John Romero releases some Daikatana magic

    She is kinda yummy...
  10. new Graphici cardibibi

Just bear in mind that the 'pro' 'XT', or 'Ultra' bits actually make a huge difference. E.g. a 9600XT is way better than a plain 9800. The GeForceFX range I honestly don't think is that great apart from at the higher end, like FX5800 Ultra, FX5950, or thereabouts. Also, wrt memory, sometimes you'll find equivalent looking cards for the same price, but one has 128Mb and the other has 256Mb. In these cases, the 128Mb one may have significantly faster memory than the 256Mb version, and may even give better performance apart from games with massive amounts of texture detail like Doom3, so check the memory speed as well as just the size. The guys I know with 9600 and 9800 pros/XTs are all very happy, so I'd go with that. If you have a bit more money, I reckon a 6800GT is pretty good value, as they almost always overclock to 6800Ultra speeds anyway with no probs if you don't mind a tiny bit of settings testing.
  11. CD protection...

Brilliant That was the only significant reason I had for not wanting a disc version. CE tin, here I come...
  12. Sam and Max Download on Gamespot

Merry Chirstmas ?! heh, Japanese people
  13. War Based Games

Vietcong, Battlefield: 1942 and Battlefield: Vietnam are all supposed to be pretty good too...
  14. is THIS funny?

Damn, my head hurts Hmm, 6:03am you posted that... no wonder I feel tired
  15. Quest for Glory

Actually, I don't technically have an uncle Bob, since although his wife was called Kate, and their daughter is called Jane... their actual first names are/were John, Shirley, and Claudia respectively True.
  16. John Romero releases some Daikatana magic

Meh, so I'm envious :\ The dude has a castle... with indoor rain!!! ...or was that Richard Garriot? Anyway, when you've succesfully stolen yourself the rich American, I guess that'll leave the delectable Raluca lonely and single...
  17. John Romero releases some Daikatana magic

I doubt he can somehow. I mean, the next button down is almost popping off as it is. And yeah, I expect she has lost weight. It's hard to imagine a girl not getting thinner with him heaving up and down on top of her. Well, hard to imagine her not getting flatter anyway...
  18. World of Warcraft - Fastest selling game EVAR!

A bunch of us at Babel pre-ordered our collector's editions from gameplay.co.uk They had a special section specifically for WoW game and figurine orders that used to be at: http://shop.gameplay.co.uk/ext_shop/worldofwarcraft.asp?ref=WOW ...but which now just redirects you to their main site. They sold out of CEs within a few hours of us noticing the site though, and that was about a week ago now. Every half hour, the stock left indicator was changing: 'plenty left' -> 'some left' -> 'only a few left!' -> 'sold out - sorry'...
  19. Quest for Glory

Are you serious? I'm wary of posting about old adventure games here, as I know there are hundreds of adventure related (online) discussions that have beaten to death and yet which are entirely new to me, but I'm sure there were others, no? I'm pretty sure the Eye of the Beholder Series let you use the same entire party from 1 to 2, and then 2 to 3 for example.
  20. Quest for Glory

My dad and my uncle Bob used to buy all the Sierra adventures between them, so I've watched and played little bits of most of them. Quest for Glory 1 however was one of the few I played through all by myself, and I loved it! It was going to be called Hero Quest until the last minute, but they changed it to avoid confusion with the Games Workshop board game Heroquest I think. I was a thief, but learnt 2/3 of the spells anyway because I never had time to play games more than once, so always tried to simultaneously play as many routes as possible in any given game. I did have a go at the 2nd one too years later when uncle Bob actually gave me the game, and restarted it again a while later after finding my original 'end game' special save from the first game that let me use the same character again. I think the 2nd game was significantly bigger though, as I remember the city being massive, and getting the impression that I'd barely scratched the surface after about 20 hours or so (it was very slow loading every screen off the 5.25" discs on my 286 though). This was aeons ago though so if there's a remake in the works, I'll be eager to check it out, thanks for the news. (I'm thoroughly embarassed to say that I don't check any other forums at all, apart from PC-Hardware related stuff )
  21. Half_Life 2: Gold or retail CE?

Yeah, I don't really want postcards, soundtrack, hat and posters, etc. The CE still comes with the hintbook thingy and t-shirt, that's god enough for me. WoW is the only CE that's got me excitied since... seeing Spaff's Warcraft3 CE
  22. Sleep

Ever had one of those dying/being injured dreams that was actually related to real life, like dreaming that a fire alarm's going off when actually it's your alarm clock. I remember the first time I ever got cramp was as a kid of maybe 10 years old. I dreamt that I was surrounded by a circle of monsters (a bit like from Where the wild things are', but a little thinner and scarier). They were closing in and I was doomed. Then one of them lunged forwards and stabbed me in the left lower leg and it was agony. I woke up and my left calf was actually killing me, and ached for ages afterwards. It freaked me out for most of the day until I figured out it must be this 'cramp' thing that other people get sometimes.
  23. Half_Life 2: Gold or retail CE?

I'm having the same dilemma. Gold or retail CE? I'd prefer a slightly bigger than usual tin to the too-big-for-my-shelf card box that the gold extras will presumably come in. My main worry about the retail version(s) is that apparently you have to have the disc in the drive every time you want to play it, even though you register the CD-key with steam once installed, and hence can presumably download it anywhere your steam account is thereafter. So why the hell must you also have the disc in the drive?? Dumb! If they change that in the next week, I'm definately going for the retail CE. I'm also very slightly concerned by not knowing how CE owners will be able to purchase the Day of Defeat mod when that's released, as I'd like to try that too, but wouldn't want to have to pay more than a pittance if they charge extra for it. Has anyone head any other reasons for the retail version being ulter lame?
  24. World of Warcraft - Fastest selling game EVAR!

...and not only that, but at least 3 copies of each of the 7 Korean-only clones that come out. I once had the pleasure of language testing a Starcraft clone by the name of Atrox, fresh out of Korea. I literally had to change 1/3 of the words in the entire 30 page manual! They hadn't even run it through a basic spell-checker. Some of the stuff was so confusing it was hilarious. Well, if you like that sort of thing anyway Random unedited gem: Hamelt: "But we cannot help it. If the location of our battle force is uncovered, the history of human race will be completely obliterated by the enemy. Sacrifice always subsists. I believe that the time has come to protect our selves with our own strength. The human willpower became awfully deteriorated because we always relied upon the power of machines. I truly think that just proving the human willpower to human race is worth fighting for."
  25. Sleep

For years, I could get by indefinately on about 5.5 hours sleep. Now I need 6.5 I find the biggest problem is that if I figure I need to look after myself after some late nights and go to sleep an hour or two earlier than usual, I just wake up an hour or two early instead and fail to get back to sleep again, even though I'm still exhausted I've always been envious of people who can fall asleep whenever/wherever they want to...
