  1. Star Wars

Yeah I thought the third film was great, although it felt way too short.
  2. If you could change one thing about the world...?

Bullshit-detectors for everyone, so that only honest people can get elected.
  3. Size of the games industry

From what I understand the claim is true, but only if you restrict the comparison to the box office. As soon as you take DVDs, tv-licensing and such into account the games industry is dwarfed and not surprisingly so...
  4. Star Wars

Just curious, how exactly?Do you hate the character from the book? The way he was interpreted in the film? Or the way ILM animated him? I really liked all of the above.
  5. Kerry won the 2004 election.

I really hope this isn't just wishful thinking and they really have some solid evidence. Certainly the indication is that the election was a sham, but I'm not getting my hopes up until they get somewhere with this.
  6. Star Wars

I'm told that Battlefront game isn't bad. I haven't played it though. I didn't think the trailer looked too bad. I just hope that for the film in general they'll go a little easier on the CG and use it more judiciously... and maybe use that Subsurface Scattering rendering that Gollum pioneered and that was also used on Dobby. Kind of takes away the plasticky feel.
  7. Dear (most of) middle America....

    Wow. Awesome.
  8. "I suck..." (countdown to Bloodlines)

I'm not a big fan of gore, but I'll probably play this at some point as it sounds pretty damn good.
  9. Dear (most of) middle America....

Four years of being annoyed with Bush.
  10. Dear (most of) middle America....

Now if only Bush could learn it.
  11. Dear (most of) middle America....

Fair enough. I'll shut up now. ... and my apologies for the above comment. That was unecessary.
  12. Dear (most of) middle America....

Okay, to be slightly fairer to you, Zero... I think you do have a point that Bush' campaign was based on people liking him, while Kerry's campaign rested mostly on hate of Bush for support and this most likely contributed to the amount of votes that went to Bush. Kerry would've won if he'd been more likable.
  13. Kerry won the 2004 election.

People are always complaining. There is no perfect government. People complained lots about the liberal "Paars" government in Holland and got rid of them. Now look where that got us.
  14. Dear (most of) middle America....

Having said that, anyone who watches pretty much any talk by Bush for any extended amount of time and doesn't realize he shouldn't be president is an idiot.A few fun facts about Bush speeches: - He continually resorts to tough-guy rhetoric - He has the black & white world view of someone from the Dark Ages - He avoids all intelligent questions systematically - He has no grasp of the English language I'm trying to imagine how good the Republican spin-doctors must be to make this guy look good, but I just can't do it. It boggles the mind. I guess most of the people that voted for him had never even seen him on tv for more than 5 minutes on end, and were just told by their preacher to go vote Bush. That makes them even bigger idiots. Then there's the people that know exactly what Bush and his government stand for and what they have done, and they want more of it. These people are bastards.
  15. Kerry won the 2004 election.

What, surely the new government is better than Aznar?
  16. Kerry won the 2004 election.

Well, let us hope Hilton is right and gets Bush impeached.
  17. Kerry won the 2004 election.

Well that's more of an embarrassing sidenote. I'm not saying I believe in conspiracy theories like Hilton's, just that I wouldn't put it past them.
  18. Dear (most of) middle America....

Although I freely admit to getting carried away I think I've been fairly careful in my wording most of the time. Okay "51% of America is retarded" is an unfair comment, but I do maintain that all of those 51 were either extremely misguided (and, to be fair, even intelligent people can be brainwashed by effective propaganda) or simply selfish arrogant bastards who care nothing about the world or the future. I agree "terrorism is a global threat" but I think it's a threat created by the neo-conservatives of America (and Bush more than any before him), and they in fact form a greater threat to world peace than Al Qaeda ever has or will.
  19. Kerry won the 2004 election.

I don't buy the idea that the 9/11 attack itself was rigged, but I wouldn't be surprised if Bin Laden was 'encouraged'.

  21. Dear (most of) middle America....

Next thing Bush is going to introduce the special American greet. I think it will involve raising the arm... but the left one. HA! There, I got you! You thought I was making another allusion to nazi Germany didn't you? Well I wasn't, see. This one is different. Cause it's American...
  22. Dear (most of) middle America....

... and yeah, Bush owns the American media.
  23. Kerry won the 2004 election.

Well, I've always said Bin Laden saved Bush... and I'm not talking about that video before the election. If it wasn't for evil Bin Laden Bush would have no leg to stand on. 9/11 must have been the happiest day of his life. If this is true and Bush gets impeached I think I'm going to die laughing. ... And then get back up and realize it's actually deeply sad and disturbing.
  24. Think about it. I remember reading a quote once from a random Iraqi along the lines of "Sure it was bad under Saddam, but at least you knew what to expect. If you kept your head down you were okay." Now everybody is getting killed randomly and the world has never seen this much terrorism, ever. Way to go with that War on Terror. Obviously if things calm down and Iraq gets a stable government things will be much better... but is that going to happen any time soon, if ever? It's looking more like Vietnam every day and we know how that ended.
  25. Is Iraq really better off without Sadam?

I mean, if the Americans want to be the police of the world so desperately, why don't they start by sorting out Israel, getting rid of the right-wing extremists and forcing somekind of peace agreement on everyone like they usually do. Or how about getting rid of Mugabe? Sudan, anyone? What about lobbying for China to sort out their human rights? What about sorting out the bloody human rights and democracy in their own country first???
