"Aldi bier" heh but... I prefer this one myself:
  2. Hairy Faces

Dammit, I was going to post this cartoon by Peter van Straaten, but I can't find it anywhere. It was something like this:
  3. Seen any good movies lately?

    To each his own.
  4. Seen any good movies lately?

Bubba Hotep! Almost forgot about that one... Senior Elvis (no, not dead) and black JFK fight The Mummy. Awesome. Thank you, thank you very much.
  5. Seen any good movies lately?

I thought it was an interesting film, but it didn't really grab me. One thing totally cracked me up though...

Garden State is brilliant. The Incredibles is just as good the second time round. Team America is funny. House of Flying Daggers I found pretty disappointing. It's not half as visually rich as I was expecting... the dance with the drums is cool but it pretty much goes downhill from there, and the plot is as convoluted as it is predictable. The dialogue was, well the subtitles were pretty hammy - "Are you for real?" -, but I suspect the original lines aren't especially good either. The combat gets old pretty fast as they don't really do anything interesting with it and the ending is just, well... No, if you want to see a good martial arts film, go see Hero. The trailer suggests little more than some epic ass-kicking, but it totally surprised me. Beautiful film. Also rather good: A Series of Unfortunate Events
  7. Tell Us About Yourself

I'm from the Adventure Gamers forum! I'm also sort of Dutch and Swedish... and living in England
  8. Poetry Remix0red!

On either side they stood, opposing thumbs, counting tumbleweeds, tension slicable, gamepad in hand, no rhyming was heard, there wasn't the mood.
  9. What's with the bad weather?

    Heh... http://www.steve-ince.co.uk/blog/2005/01/end-of-world.html
  10. What's with the bad weather?

The exact details have long since faded from my mind but if you're on about what I think you are... that, what little natural effect there is, is completely dwarfed by our magnificent knack for environmental destruction. Meanwhile, the biggest polluter and consumer of natural resources in the world just happens to also be the one that argues the loudest that there is no problem at all. How entirely ironic.

Right... Who sponsored that research... Haliburton? The hole in the Ozone layer, is that a cycle too? We'll die of skin cancer in cycles?
  12. What's with the bad weather?

Plenty. If the temperature goes wonky, everything goes wonky. That said, I was more talking about the environment going to hell in general with that comment. Global warming is just one of many issues that need dealing with yesterday and are all being $ystematically ignored.
  13. What's with the bad weather?

preachy post about evil corporations and shit The environment is pretty much fucked either way, but I wouldn't mind still breathing oxygen in a few decades.
  14. What's with the bad weather?

Oh dear. Fast forward a hundred years as our gas-mask wearing grand-children exclaim: "Thank you, Michael Crichton. Thank you very fucking much."
  15. Soundcards of the Stone Age

I remember being totally in awe of the theme song on the Lion King game. Disney used to make cool platform games.
  16. What's with the bad weather?

If that's directed at me, I really don't know what you're talking about.Am I accidentally quoting the guy or something? ... cause I've never read any of his work.
  17. What's with the bad weather?

Yeah. Still, the point stands. I was thinking kind of in general by the way, then my mind caught up with my posting...
  18. What's with the bad weather?

NO! Global warming is a figment of all of your imaginations!
  19. Pretty scary stuff

You should get your friend to cycle around the hotel. How's your supply of baseball bats?
  20. Pretty scary stuff

Red rum. ... or some type of rum anyway.

CGI is a small part of cinema which in many cases doesn't even factor into it at all. At the end of the day, if you light something and point a camera at it, you've got film. You don't first need to upgrade to Camera 9.0c to ensure it runs on current projectors. So you can nitpick all you want but the point of the article is that the games industry needs limitations to be creative with. Tool stability is essential to experimentation.
  22. Happy new year!

Tis a happy new year in the UK now... Happy 2005!
  23. EA and MS: Which company is more evil?

Microsoft funded the development of Psychonauts and since Microsoft bought it, Rare has had normal working hours. It can't be all bad. My vote goes to EA.
  24. Gothic III announced

I'm going to venture a guess that it will be awesome. I'm keen to see what the old characters are up to now... but man I really hope they've got the old voice actor for Diego back or scrap the character cause everything that was cool about him in the first game was pretty much lost in the second one - that aside the sequel was excellent. I also hope they get some more different actors to put a bit more variety in the voices from character to character (cause you could tell it was the same people in a lot of cases). ... and horses, that would be nice.
  25. Warrior Within

I don't think you can save in the demo. I certainly wasn't aware of any saving function anywhere...
