  1. Here's a shitty video of the new characters fighting shittily.

I will admit that I grinned like an idiot when I saw the return of T. Hawk's crazy awesome head-grab. Then I looked at Juri's lifebar...

Juri looks like a character perfectly suited for me. Seems to be all kicks. Which is nice, because Baek was one of my fave characters in Tekken.

The YouTube comments there are mind-numbing and/or hilarious though. I imagine this one in Chris Remo nerd voice

I knew this BS was going to happen that crapcom was going to make ANOTHER SF4 game and unbalanced the garbage WAY TO GO CRAPCOM!!! And also go ahead and put in SF3 characters and try to bring back the fans of SF3 WOW cool (sarcasm) EPIC FAIL of SF series. IS WE EVER GOING TO GET A "NEW" STREET FIGHTER DAMN!!! When crapcom can make a new SF I will be playing SF EX ALPHA series.

The stuff I've seen has Dudley listed as one of the new playable characters, but having two boxers like that would be a little weird. Balrog is annoying enough as it is :fart:

And I wouldn't hold out for the possibility that this is DLC. If the rumours are true, they are adding quite a few characters... so it'd be quite the massive update, not to mention new moves for all existing characters and balancing and etc. It's not like they have them sitting on the disc like the DLC costumes :finger:

  3. Excitement's in the air as a big announcement is coming tomorrow, although there's already a lot of hints, speculation, rumours as to what it is: a Super Street Fighter IV. Lots of new characters (from SF2, Alpha, and 3) and new Ultras and other shit. I hope they balance out my Vega a bit more so he doesn't suck (relatively speaking) so much. Also I hope that all the new stuff doesn't take away from the fine balance and precision of SFIV. It'd hate for them to overcomplicate this game.

  4. I think I've downloaded (and bought :yep:) more music in a week in Paris than two months back home. So much new stuff... and a lot of it has inspired me to listen to old stuff. All the Warp20 buzz has got me listening to "Squarepusher" and "Aphex Twin" and old "Autechre". There's the new 5 Years of Hyperdub stuff out there now. New "Vitalic" album is pretty good. "VHS Head" EP is probably my favourite EP of the year so far. So good. Been enjoying "Intrusion" too, and "Cold Cave".

yadda yadda. All this new music almost makes me forget that I'm about to miss the entirety of happy Video game quarter. :(

  5. I'd strongly recommend against Leicester Square; it's overcrowded, overpriced and generally unpleasant. Since the meet is based around the Eurogamer Expo I'd suggest staying in that sort of area. The Dildo Swiss Re Building is nearby - not sure if it opens on a weekend though.

Just checked the location of the expo. Hmm. Personally speaking, I'd like to go up to Brick Lane in Aldgate... but then I'm a little fond of all the Bengali food there. Also the Truman Brewery up there is a big hipster spot, with Rough Trade East there. But this is mostly a selfish desire for me as I want to check out that hood again if I do come up for London for a couple of days.

  6. If enough people plan something, I might venture out across the chunnel.

But, also, we're about a month from the Eurogamer thing too, are we not? If people want to plan some largeish IT meetup, that'd be the place for it.

  7. I've played Civ Rev (lite) for a little while and I think it's great, I'd consider getting the full version.

It pretty much is the full DS version, which I played a shit load last summer, so I'm happy.

Just got Lumines and Mr. Driller. Lumines... oh man. I love Lumines. I own it on five separate platforms. I'll buy it for five more. But, man, the controls on this make it completely unplayable. I couldn't get through one skin. :hmph: And it's not like I suck at this game. :getmecoat

Mr. Driller is right fun though.

  8. Yeah, I posted a clip of those on Twitter. Really ominous. Wait for 15 seconds in

For many reasons, it instantly reminded me of

  9. I find asinine IGN.com comments to be funnier when they're actually true, and it's so easy to find them it makes me sad

"The third piece of the Uncharted puzzle is, well, puzzles." - IGN.com

"you need to look at what's going on, flip through the book, do some stuff and then go back to the book again. " - IGN.com

"So that's Uncharted 2: Among Thieves in a large nutshell. Or is it?" - IGN.com

"If you're reading this, it was unlikely that you weren't already going to buy Uncharted 2: Among Thieves on day one." - IGN.com (at least it's kind of them to admit that their reviews are basically an exercise in futility)

  10. Too many video game endings are merely a movie---"This is what happens next. The end." I like endings that make you feel like you accomplished something.

  11. The developer's room ending to Crono Trigger. It kind of showed just how much the creators loved the game they made and showed them as people with personalities and interests more than just a bunch of names scrolling by. Kind of a weird reason to like an ending, but it was nice and different.

  12. Very cool. It reminds me a tiny bit of Highway 420 by Do Make Say Think, although they're not all that similar. I think it's more the stalking-the-streets thing than anything else.

If anything, they're really just a copy of the fantastic "Bohren & Der Club of Gore" mixed with a little bit of Twin Peaks (for obvious reasons...)

Bohren is so, sooo good though.

  13. At the complete different end of the spectrum from the above

    <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lfWP7-o5hvc&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lfWP7-o5hvc&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

Perfect music for stalking the streets of a new city at night.

  14. My issues with the multiplayer game was that my character moved at a snails pace, and what has now become the common complaint of this game:

it takes too long to kill other players.

I also thought the visuals of the game were just not appealing. I dunno, maybe I'll give it another try, I still have the demo installed.

This sounds like Halo 3 to me, which seems to succeed despite these.
