  1. To those that have played Polarium:

is it worth the import for the puzzle game connoiseur? Or should I wait for the hopeful release date, which I see as being in April, but I've yet to see any real confirmation for it.

Speaking of imports, I just got "Daigasso! Band Brothers". The game's pretty good. Certainly not a showcase for the touchscreen (if anything, it uses it badly), the dual screens, and the microphone feature (kinda blows), but the game itself isn't all that bad. It's your standard music/rhythm game, only midified. But I find it to be a bit more akin to the likes of Frequency than DDR in that you create the music by playing it. There's apparently a full mixer in the game too, but I haven't unlocked it yet.

Plus, it's a new IP for Nintendo, so they really should push for a release here. If anything, Nintendo needs more sassy round-breasted bat mascots (who remind me of someone I used to know a couple years ago).

  2. You're not allowed to EVER say that a white rapper might be a better lyricist or idealist than a black rapper. The only reason you would say that is because you are a smug white suburbanite who doesn't know anything about culture. White people rape everything from black people okay?!

Is that sort of like saying that a black golfer is better than a white one?

    :mrt:

Good thing I'm not white; I'm Polish.

  3. I know the 'Cube has Mario Cart, Smash Melee (I love being Kirby) and a few others that I can surely sucker my girl friend into playing. What does the PS2 have to offer?

Gradius V has a two player co-op mode, but I'd only suggest that if you want to end said relationship.

Anyway, to sucker in the significant other, you really can't go wrong with either Frequency or Amplitude.

  4. Alien Hominid isn't coming out this year, is it?

I'd like to get Castle Shikigami 2, but I don't know what the hell is happening with that game. I put $5 down on it like two months ago, and I haven't heard anything. I think I'm going to have to try to get my $5 back,

Anyway, I do plan on getting MGS3, Metroid Prime 2, the DS, Classic NES Zelda II, and maybe Baten Kaitos. Also Halo 2 and GTA:SA because I am a whore. And what did happen to the GBA Mega Man Anniversary Collection? *checks* end of January? Christ, this game has been delayed by like 8 months!

    Holy crap I'll be broke.

  5. Regarding game length, I know one person who's beaten Fable (but not completed it) in under 9 hours without trying to go fast. Also, apparently once you beat the game, you can't go back and do the stuff you didn't do.

I read that you can... you just have to sit through the apparently twenty minute long credits before you can. But I haven't played it, so what do I know.

    Q&A with Tim Schafer

One of the good things about the state of the games industry right now is that it's incredibly easy to be original. I mean, if you released a game these days that didn't have any army guys in it, people would freak out. "Where did they get the idea to not use army guys? Are they taking drugs?" I think game makers underestimate the public when they assume they want to play the same game over and over. But it gives us a really good opportunity to stand out to the audience.

    I'm freaking out, man.
