  1. Game designer publicity photos

Now that Miyamoto has been thrown into the mix, why not http://archive.gamespy.com/asp/image.asp?/interviews/january04/mgsroundtable/18.jpg
  2. The big names in gaming

Then you might as well add the Chronic Logic people too
  3. Hot titles you're waiting for

I don't know about that one, but I did play a Tetris variant once that had naked people falling down the screen Tetris style and rather than clearing lines, you had to, er, arrange the people into certain positions. They'd move a bit, moan a bit, and be cleared off. It was fun for about 30 seconds.
  4. The big names in gaming

Ok, well, I did say those TWO. At once. But yeah, I missed that.
  5. The big names in gaming

I'm surprised it took so long before these two were mentioned. Also, Shinji Mikami Masahiro Sakurai (HAL Laboratories... worked with Mizuguchi on Meteos) Alexey Pazhitnov (Tetris guy, apparently designed Hexic HD ?) and lastly, but most importantly, Gunpei Yokoi. And http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_video_game_designers Kenta Cho (or do non-commercial guys not count?)

    @ "I GIVE LION HEAD"
  7. Hot titles you're waiting for

Not mentioned: that PSP Ghosts n' Goblins game The new Outrun Yakuza (though I'm mostly meh on it) fucking Tetris I also want to import that Gradius collection for the PSP. I think it's out now... maybe?
  8. Just how awesome is the DS Lite?

If buying an earlier revision of something is an act that you would regret for the rest of your life, I hope that you never buy a computer or an mp3 player or a car -- you'd become downright suicidal.
  9. Excessive amount of Guitar Hero sequels

I have appropriately updated my post. Not much, but yeah. There are five buttons afterall and only four fingers. I guess you could hold it so that you can use your thumb too, but that might be more awkward than needed.
  10. Oscars

The Oscar people like boring historical recreations.
  11. Excessive amount of Guitar Hero sequels

I wouldn't think so in as much as Gran Turismo teaches you to drive a car. However, much like playing Gran Turismo can help you have a better understanding of car tuning and racing lines, Guitar Hero can give you a better appreciation of what it takes to play guitar and it does help hand mobility. At least, for me it did. Took me a while to adjust to using my pinkie and shifting my hand down the neck and all that.
  12. Excessive amount of Guitar Hero sequels

The only problem with sequels like this is that after playing Guitar Hero so much, the sequels will be either excessively easy for the veteran or excessively hard for the newcomer. I don't know how much harder you CAN get than Cowboys from Hell or Bark At The Moon anyway.
  13. Rockstar's Table Tennis

If they sell it in Asia, then I guarantee you it'll be huge in Korea. Maybe Hong Kong/China too. It might seem funny here in North America -- the kind of thing that drunken fratboys play -- but the sport is actually quite large. http://www.ittf.com/ I just hope that Forest Gump will be a hidden character
  14. Oscars

Screw John Williams. The guy has three wins and a ton of nominations thanks to the Oscars' perpetual Spielberg-blowjob, and he was shafted? ENNIO MORRICONE is the shaft upon which other shafts bloom.
  15. Viral Market in this thread

Dear Sir: I have been requested by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company to contact you for assistance in resolving a matter. The Nigerian National Petroleum Company has recently concluded a large number of contracts for oil exploration in the sub-Sahara region. The contracts have immediately produced moneys equalling US$40,000,000. The Nigerian National Petroleum Company is desirous of oil exploration in other parts of the world, however, because of certain regulations of the Nigerian Government, it is unable to move these funds to another region. You assistance is requested as a non-Nigerian citizen to assist the Nigerian National Petroleum Company, and also the Central Bank of Nigeria, in moving these funds out of Nigeria. If the funds can be transferred to your name, in your United States account, then you can forward the funds as directed by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company. In exchange for your accomodating services, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company would agree to allow you to retain 10%, or US$4 million of this amount. However, to be a legitimate transferee of these moneys according to Nigerian law, you must presently be a depositor of at least US$100,000 in a Nigerian bank which is regulated by the Central Bank of Nigeria. If it will be possible for you to assist us, we would be most grateful. We suggest that you meet with us in person in Lagos, and that during your visit I introduce you to the representatives of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company, as well as with certain officials of the Central Bank of Nigeria. Please call me at your earliest convenience at [Phone Number]. Time is of the essence in this matter; very quickly the Nigerian Government will realize that the Central Bank is maintaining this amount on deposit, and attempt to levy certain depository taxes on it.
  16. Snakes on a Plane (and Gnarls Barkley)

For all your Snakes and/or Plane needs, I suggest http://www.snakesonablog.com/
  17. Snakes on a Plane (and Gnarls Barkley)

Yes. Seriously. "Stay Alive"? Looking at the title, I don't know what it's about. What are they trying to stay alive against? Why? But I see "Snakes on a Plane", and I know exactly what it's about. Also check this awesome dialogue: -Samuel L. JacksonAs for "Stay Alive", it's going to be to games what "Fear.com" was to the internet. What? You forgot about that movie already?
  18. Metroid Prime Hunters

Even worse, Tetris DS comes out on the same day. I know they're completely different games with different audiences, but I find it odd that Nintendo would release two high profile games on the same day like that. Here's another hands on of MP Hunters http://www.1up.com/do/blogEntry?bId=6634719&publicUserId=5379721
  19. Games Played

See. That's precisely why I hate it so much. I, too, love a good western. I've rewatched Leone's films lately, also been watching Peckinpah's westerns, amongst others. I love good westerns. Gun is not one of them. The gameplay was a bit generic too.
  20. Games Played

Guitar Hero  Gun Chaos Field Played a little bit of the future!! in Project Gotham Racing 3 and I was so underwhelmed by it.
  21. Headsmiley contest, post 'em here

    That's the flap of TRUTH.
  22. Headsmiley contest, post 'em here

I think I cleaned up those edges enough now. Also
  23. Headsmiley contest, post 'em here

I am a winner already. Though I sliced that from someone else's link here, if I remember correctly. Anyway, I just rewatched this a few days ago so it's fresh in my mind: (probably could be better) Edit: also
  24. GameTap game list

GameTap, the monthly subscription get access to many* games service, has pretty much started. http://www.gametap.com/ I haven't tried the client, but I'll probably give it a shot later. Anyway, they released their title list http://www.gametap.com/launch/game_titles/index.html and... it's a bit disappointing. Many of the games are retro and, obviously, have been included in about five billion compilations already. Like, how many copies of Pac Man does one need? There are some interesting titles, like from SEGA and UBI (Beyond Good and Evil) and "The Incredible Machine®: Even More Contraptions™", but it's still underwhelming. Not many titles seem to go beyond the Genesis era, the classic PC front is practically ignored save for a few, and there isn't a single game that has appeared on a Nintendo console (except as ports). Opinions on the service later.
