ONLY ABNORMAL ONES. Is this still an issue to people? Is there ANYONE that has not purchased a Wii because it doesn't play DVDs?
-
She should have thought of her kids before deciding to partake in a contest that stupid for a Wii. Christ, wait until you can get in stores like the rest of us! Also, would this be a serial killer going around killing radio morning show hosts? If so, it wouldn't be all bad. Maybe they could make a TV series out of it.

Licensing issues? Many Flickr users have the option to use a CC license on their photos. Did you double check that? Besides, what licensing issues can a flickr feed have that a standard weblog feed wouldn't?

It's not a surprising win when you consider the other nominees for the innovative technology emmy: the Zune USB humping dog this thing:

Early adopters don't care because they're early adopters. They know the drill. As to the bolded point: people have a short memory... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Variations_of_the_Sega_Mega_Drive I don't ever remember it being an issue in those days. Granted, we didn't have the fucking ADD internet around back then to pound you with the most insignificant bit of news over and over and over again like a boot stamping on a human face--for ever.

That is surprising, but it's an AP story so the link could have pointed to anywhere like, say, here. Reading that article on Excite might make it seem average, but reading it on Forbes makes it look even dumber! But yeah, stupid. Seems as though the author tried to cover in-game ads and EA's marketplace "unlockable" downloads but missed the mark completely, confusing a $5 car unlock with entering the Konami code or the Chris Houlihan Room.

Perhaps, but "post-patch" equals "post-review" for most places, which answers your, er, Erkii's question.

Because it didn't work for anybody. After sitting at a loading screen for five minutes -- in the DEMO -- I finally got into the game, only to see it hang my system. Never touched it again. My experiences were, it seems, the norm.

Came across and/or was sent links to various articles here (remember those??). After a few of those and after some talk with local thumber Walter, I ventured out into that wasteland (header designed) forum, forever falling into its trap. Eventually, Walter disappeared leaving only me. I am alone and cold.

Woo! I am in print. This beats that time I was quoted in the Globe and Mail for an article on "googlewhacking"

Saw it tonight. Worth waiting for.

It's a TMN series, but Showcase has reruns. On Christmas day, they ran a marathon of it -- season 1 and 2 straight through. One season was plenty for one sitting.

Oh. And on Christmas Day, I watched the entirety of Season One of Slings & Arrows. Great, great show. If you're not Canadian, you'd probably never heard of it -- but try to check it out if you can. It's basically a drama/comedy following the action behind the scenes at the "not-really-Stratford but you know it's meant to be Stratford" Shakespeare festival as they try to stage the marquee play of the season (season one being Hamlet). Paul Gross (the mountie from Due South), as the constantly near-mental breakdown Artistic Director, is great in this. It's also the show where Rachel McAdams got her big break. It's entertaining and you even learn a bit about Shakespeare's plays while you watch it. Can't lose with that.

I too am blowing through The Wire. Started season 2 on Thursday and I'm... half way through now. Season 1 took me about a week -- and it only took that long because that whole pesky family Christmas thing got in the way. Unfortunately, Season Three looks to be about $100.

I am posting this from the "Reply to Thread" page. OMG!

Dead Rising Yeah, it had some flaws, but the major ones that it always got criticized for never bothered me. I didn't have trouble with the text size even on my standard 27 incher. A vocal group of people said that it was completely unplayable on standard tvs. I think they need to go to an optometrist. Also, the save system was perfectly reasonable for what it was trying to do. I LIKED the fact that you had to be in certain places at certain times to progress the story because it provided extra tension. You have an hour left to go across the mall, but there's four survivors elsewhere? Do you play it safe or do you try going for the rescue and risk missing the story end? And, really, when the story ends you do NOT need to end the game and redo that. I just kept playing trying to get as many survivors as I could. That's how the game was meant to be -- everyone else seemed to approach the game thinking they could save all the survivors and do all the story in one play through. It might be possible, but it's REALLY hard. And you know what? I liked it for that. I liked it enough to play through the game four times. And that is what makes it game of the year. Runners-up Gears of War I played the entire game through co-op and pretty much the whole time me and my friend were talking about and laughing at the obvious (and at times, really bad) scripting, the bad dialogue, the cliched devices, the poor AI, the game design and all that. Which doesn't sound like it makes a good game, but the key here is that I played the entire game on co-op over live. The multiplayer is pretty fun too. DEFCON I'll admit that I haven't played too much of it, but the atmosphere and the simple board-game like design is top notch.

Ridley was a pushover. Omega Pirate gave me the most trouble in that game. I think that's where I stopped when I was replaying the game on Hard -- granted, I was sequence breaking and had about a total of 15 missiles and, maybe, three energy tanks? I can't remember, it's been a while ago. But I love that game. Echoes did nothing for me, and I'm wary of Corruption, but the first Prime was outstanding. Also, it's not the absolute greatest game, but I had a lot of fun with the first Rogue Squadron. The Battle of Endor in that was amazing (and shit hard).
