I tried playing that level with my sister and we got stuck in an impossible situation and had to quit out. As cool as LBP is, it's also a testament to the fact that you really can't leave proper stage design and designers behind.

Idle Thumbs 7: Stop Doing Interviews
n0wak replied to Chris's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
Oh man, that Senior Super Douche song is the best thing on the podcast so far and ever. -
As toblix said, it's only for not using a gun. You are expected to fight in some of these situations. I think using the gun would probably make the situation that I'm stuck in easier, no doubt, but that isn't the game that I purchased.

Idle Thumbs 7: Stop Doing Interviews
n0wak replied to Chris's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
so we recorded early this week. Damnit. I haven't finished yet. -
Here's the thing about the opening credits. Once you understand what's going on in them, it usually takes a season and a half, when you start watching a new season you obsessively watch them trying to figure out what, exactly, is going to happen. As far as montage openings go, however you feel about the music, they are some of the best edited on TV. There are subtle hints and edits of the season to come but never in a way that actually ruins any surprise.

I just watched the first 8 episodes of 30 Rock on the weekend. I think I have a new TV obsession for the next few weeks

Ran through the demo twice. Loved it. Got the game. Ran through Chapter One like a pro. Still loved it. Ran through Chapter Two. Things got a little more hectic, little more diverse, loved it even more. Ran through part of Chapter Three and the game threw cops at me that I could not run past. Had to stop running and start fighting. Didn't like it. It was going oh so well until that point.

Man, I've been able to get in on this now that I'm back home (blarggh) and own a Playstation 3, finally. It's completely awesome. Unfortunately, apart from the 1080p resolution, I've seen it all before as I played WipeOut Pure and Pulse quite a bit. Still, for $20 I can't complain. Although that "Beat Zico" trophy... :frusty:

Maybe I just suck at platformers now*. I had to restart the Mine level because I was blown up one too many times and the Low Rider level because I was electrocuted one too many times. It was annoying. I just wanted to romp through this stuff without any worry of death (I've got Geometry Wars Evolved 2 for that) and was surprised to find the single player experience so, well, conventional. * Then again, I did get 120 stars in Super Mario Galaxy. Who knows?

Hi! Although I'm confused now. I thought it was Señor Super Douche, but I guess if you are an Italian of nobility, Signor would work too. As long as you're not Senior.

Been listening to a lot of jazz and jazz-ish-like moody stuff lately: Bohren & Der Club Of Gore Sunken Foal - Fallen Arches This one's quite nice. Triosk - Headlight Serenade and Burnt Friedman & Jaki Liebezeit all three "Secret Rhythms" albums So good. Also: Last Step - 1961 which is definitely not. It's a sideproject of (Canadian) Venetian Snares and it sounds in some ways a lot like Aphex Twin (on my favourite track, Disco 61, at least) sideproject AFX. Oh, and the new (Canadian!) OhGr is pretty good too.

My first red ring came right after a fall dashboard update too. This new EXPERIENCE has me worried.

It's already on DVD so no excuses. Get to the watching! They had three episodes from season one on the inflight system when I came back from the UK. I might have seen the episodes already (twice even), but it made the flight so much better and it rekindle a desire in me to go through the whole series again.

I dunno. At its heart, in single player, it's still a platformer and one with lives that you tend to lose frequently. I mean, yes, you can ignore most of those levels but if you want materials and shit to build levels with, you have to play them. And you die. And it gets frustrating when you have to restart a level, regardless of who you are playing with. I just don't understand why they did that. If it's fun to just run around and mess with levels, why even bother with artificial game mechanics like limited lives? It frustrates more than anything.

Sounds like my kind of film.

This is/was my most anticipated movie for the year.

Just got a PS3 and this. The controls do feel a little floaty but I'll get used to it. Still too early to do anything but I have grand plans Add me "runbutton"
-
Hi! I said I'd get a Playstation 3 for LBP and for when I get back to Canada. I keep my word. Unfortunately, Sony is not letting me register n0wak :(:( So, runbutton it is

You guys suck for making me want to play every game you talk about. You make good points in favour of these games, like Fallout 2 and Fallout 2, and it sucks that I can't agree or disagree. Not yet. But soon. Can you guys be overly negative about some game for once, you know, like the other podcasts? It won't make me feel so out of the loop. But seriously,

Or, uh, his quote

You can parse that data out of your raw access logs.

I don't think he was ever planning on coming back.

Oh man, where can I buy German Boardgame Xbox Live Arcade Port Churros? My local supermarket doesn't carry them. ---- And add me to the list of idle thumbs users that had their names mispronounced: (X) Toblix (X) Nowak
