Saw A Very Long Engagement today. Jeunet pulls through again. It's really, really good. Of course, when Audrey's in it, however bad it may be, it'll still be enjoyable to watch.

Johnny Depp as Raoul Duke

Chan-Wook Park's amazing Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance and Old Boy. They're the first two parts of a trilogy (they're not connected in anyway though, except thematically) about revenge. About how revenge breeds revenge and how revenge turn men into monsters. Not the slick revenge seen in Kill Bill though, no - a downward spiral of gritty, ugly, depressing revenge. Uncompromising in a few extremely brutal scenes. Impressive direction, amazing cinematography and great acting. Just go see them.

Yeah, Shaolin Soccer is truly awesome.

Oh. Ok. Well, Wong Kar-Wai is one of my favourite directors. Although he's from, and based in, Hong Kong, most of his movies are more in the European arthouse vein, rather than the typical action movies. All of his films (at least the ones I've seen) are dominated certain themes: unrequited love, identity and alienation in an urban environment (well, Hong Kong), loss and hope. He's made 8 films with Christopher Doyle, an amazing cinematographer, and together they make the most visually stunning/exciting films I've seen. Wong Kar-Wai's certain visual style is unmatched by any other director, in my opinion. Anyway, watch Chungking Express, Fallen Angels, In the Mood for Love and 2046. Apparently, Quentin Tarantino liked Chungking Express so much that he helped bring it over/publish (?) it in the states. So, you should be able to find it, with Quentin's face over half of the cover. Anyway, 2046 is a semi-sequel to In the Mood for Love and is more about the memory of a long lost love, and combined with gorgeous women, amazing visuals and a beautiful soundtrack, it's the best film of 2004.

2046 Wong Kar-Wai. Christopher Doyle. Need I say more?

Façade? Really? I haven't seen anyone even mention it since that article on AGs a long time ago. I thought it had fallen into oblivion.

I thought a childbirth somehow requires a child to be born.

You're sick, deadworm.

What about the music/soundtrack then? Is it as awesome as SH2's? I mean, there's gotta be something good about this game.
-
Oh, wow. Chronicles of Riddick got almost twice as many nominations as HL2. I guess it's (almost) twice as good.
-
And it's not boring. It's acutally pretty far from boring, which is pretty impressive. Nah, seriously though, it's a great, great film. I love it. It's definitely a film that impress me, visually. It's extraordinary. Acually, the whole movie is wonderful. I just saw Nostalghia. It's not quite as good, but great nonetheless. Equally, if not more, visually impressive.

I never manage to go to sleep early, but that has probably more to do with that I like late nights and is not particulary fond of early mornings. And as a student, this mostly works out.

I thought it was the best game, ever, after the first 25 hours. I'm not sure anymore, but it's still one of the best games I have ever played. Probably in my personal top 3 or 5 or whatever. So, yeah. It's absolutely fucking incredibly awesome.

Haha, yeah, that's basically the only thing I remember from (AG) back then. Pretty funny.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time & Prince of Persia: Warrior Within
Pappa replied to ThePope's topic in Video Gaming
You have convinced me. I will never play them. Seriously though, I have the demo of Warrior Within and I must say I was a bit extremely disappointed. Not having played Sands of Time, only reading the raving reviews, I expected to find a solid action/adventure game. Guess not. The new "tough"/dark (i.e. metal and cursing and scantily clad women (!) and whatnot) style don't bother me (although it's indeed ridiculous), but... the fighting is boring, the controls are not as solid as expected, and.. yeah... I couldn't be arsed to even finish the demo. So, no. -
http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload5/HL2sverige.jpg Hah, a Swedish petrol station thingy! Brilliant! I just gotta play this game. Seriously, according to this thread and every other opinion everywhere else..(insert opinions about its awesomeness)... ... ..gah, this is just so unfair. I don't deserve not to play this game.

(For Music) Soulseek. Definitely. SLSKSLSKSLSK!

Perhaps. But you forget about them (or at least don't care) after about 10 seconds when you realise that SA is the best game ever.
-
Yeah, I can totally see that San Andreas might be the Best Game Ever. It just have to better than GTA3 to get into the top-3 anyway, and it sure seem to have accomplished that.
-
Since GTA:SA seems to be the ultimate game (any game that features The JB's The Grunt is nothing but awesome), I will have to get that. It will probably keep me occupied until the next generation of consoles arrive, so that's the only game I plan to get for the coming year or so.

Is this the new thing? Not tattoos of course (!), but tattooing two stars like those two in the pictures above? Cause at least a couple of my friends have the exact same stars (shape, size and colour), two of them, tattooed. Not by their feet though, but on other various parts of their bodies. And I've seen some other random people with the same thing. Hmm... It looks nice though!

I've already joined you, kinda, but it's not really a decision as much as I just can't be bothered to do it. Although I did watch the trailer, and got hyped up about it, I just can't be arsed to follow any game's progress by constantly checking screenshots and movies. I don't really read any news either (the only gaming related articles I've read in the past six months or so have been Idle Thumbs' stuff). And although it's the game I'm most excited about at the moment, I'm not so sure I'll get it in the end. So, yeah, I'm with you!

It works fine with opera though. I really like the intro, great work! I see you link to the most brilliant web comic of them all as well - White Ninja Comics. More bonus points for you!
